< Psalms 47 >
1 You people all [over the world], clap your hands for joy! Shout joyfully to [praise] God!
Ki te tino kaiwhakatangi. He himene ma nga tama a Koraha. Pakia o koutou ringa, e nga iwi katoa: hamama ki te Atua, kia hari te reo.
2 Yahweh, who is much greater than any other god, is awesome; he is the king who rules over all the world!
No te mea he wehi a Ihowa, te Runga Rawa, he kingi nui ia no te whenua katoa.
3 He enabled us to defeat [the armies of] the people-groups [that lived in Canaan].
Mana e riro ai nga iwi ki raro i a tatou, me nga tautangata ki raro ki o tatou waewae.
4 He chose for us this land where we now live; we Israeli people [MTY], whom he loves, are proud that we own this land.
Mana e whiriwhiri to tatou nohoanga mo tatou, te mea pai rawa o Hakopa, o tana i aroha ai. (Hera)
5 God has gone up [into his temple]. The people shouted joyfully and blew trumpets as Yahweh went up.
Kua kake atu te Atua i roto i te hamama, a Ihowa i roto i te tangi o te tetere.
6 Sing songs to praise our God! Sing to praise him [DOU]! Sing to God, our king!
Himene ki te Atua, himene atu; himene ki to tatou Kingi, himene atu.
7 God is the one who rules over everything in the world; sing a psalm to him!
Ko te Atua hoki te Kingi o te whenua katoa: himene atu i runga i te mohio.
8 God sits on his sacred throne as he rules over the people of [all] ethnic groups.
Ko te Atua te Kingi o nga tauiwi: e noho ana te Atua i runga i te torona o tona tapu.
9 The rulers of those people-groups gather as God’s people, the people [descended] from Abraham, [do]. But God has more power than the weapons/shields [of all the kings] on the earth; (he is greatly honored/people honor him) everywhere.
Kua huihui nga rangatira o nga iwi, hei iwi mo te Atua o Aperahama: na te Atua hoki nga whakangungu rakau o te whenua; kua whakanuia rawatia ia.
