< Psalms 47 >
1 You people all [over the world], clap your hands for joy! Shout joyfully to [praise] God!
Thaburi ya Ariũ a Kora Inyuĩ andũ a ndũrĩrĩ ciothe, hũũrai hĩ; ugĩrĩriai nĩ ũndũ wa Ngai, na mwanĩrĩre mũrĩ na gĩkeno.
2 Yahweh, who is much greater than any other god, is awesome; he is the king who rules over all the world!
Jehova Ũrĩa-Ũrĩ-Igũrũ-Mũno kaĩ nĩ wa gwĩtigĩrwo-ĩ, O we Mũthamaki mũnene ũrĩa wathaga thĩ yothe!
3 He enabled us to defeat [the armies of] the people-groups [that lived in Canaan].
Atooragia ndũrĩrĩ igaikara rungu rwitũ, irĩndĩ igaikara rungu rwa makinya maitũ.
4 He chose for us this land where we now live; we Israeli people [MTY], whom he loves, are proud that we own this land.
Nĩwe watũthuurĩire igai riitũ, ithuĩ gĩkeno kĩa Jakubu, o ũcio eendete.
5 God has gone up [into his temple]. The people shouted joyfully and blew trumpets as Yahweh went up.
Ngai nĩambatĩte, o agĩkũngũyagĩrwo na gĩkeno, Jehova akaambata akĩhuhagĩrwo tũrumbeta.
6 Sing songs to praise our God! Sing to praise him [DOU]! Sing to God, our king!
Inĩrai Ngai mũmũgooce na nyĩmbo, mũinĩrei mũmũgooce; inĩrai Mũthamaki witũ mũmũgooce, mũinĩrei mũmũgooce.
7 God is the one who rules over everything in the world; sing a psalm to him!
Nĩgũkorwo Ngai nĩwe Mũthamaki wa thĩ yothe; mũgoocei na nyĩmbo.
8 God sits on his sacred throne as he rules over the people of [all] ethnic groups.
Ngai nĩwe ũthamakagĩra ndũrĩrĩ; Ngai aikarĩire gĩtĩ gĩake kĩrĩa gĩtheru kĩa ũnene.
9 The rulers of those people-groups gather as God’s people, the people [descended] from Abraham, [do]. But God has more power than the weapons/shields [of all the kings] on the earth; (he is greatly honored/people honor him) everywhere.
Andũ a ndũrĩrĩ arĩa marĩ igweta nĩmonganĩte matuĩke ta andũ a Ngai wa Iburahĩmu, nĩgũkorwo athamaki a thĩ nĩ a Ngai; we nĩwe ũtũũgĩrĩtio mũno.
