Psalms 47

1 You people all [over the world], clap your hands for joy! Shout joyfully to [praise] God!

Dem Musikmeister. Von den Korachiten. Ein Psalm. Ihr Völker alle, klatscht in die Hände, jauchzt mit lautem Jubel Gotte zu!

2 Yahweh, who is much greater than any other god, is awesome; he is the king who rules over all the world!

Denn Jahwe, der Höchste, ist furchtbar, ein großer König über die ganze Erde.

3 He enabled us to defeat [the armies of] the people-groups [that lived in Canaan].

Er zwang Völker unter uns und Nationen unter unsere Füße.

4 He chose for us this land where we now live; we Israeli people [MTY], whom he loves, are proud that we own this land.

Er wählte uns unseren Erbbesitz aus, den Stolz Jakobs, den er liebgewonnen. (Sela)

5 God has gone up [into his temple]. The people shouted joyfully and blew trumpets as Yahweh went up.

Gott ist aufgefahren mit Jauchzen, Jahwe mit Posaunenschall.

6 Sing songs to praise our God! Sing to praise him [DOU]! Sing to God, our king!

Lobsinget Gotte, lobsinget; lobsinget unserem Könige, lobsinget!

7 God is the one who rules over everything in the world; sing a psalm to him!

Denn Gott ist König über die ganze Erde; singt ein Lied!

8 God sits on his sacred throne as he rules over the people of [all] ethnic groups.

Gott ist König über die Heiden geworden; Gott hat sich auf seinen heiligen Thron gesetzt.

9 The rulers of those people-groups gather as God’s people, the people [descended] from Abraham, [do]. But God has more power than the weapons/shields [of all the kings] on the earth; (he is greatly honored/people honor him) everywhere.

Die Edlen der Völker haben sich versammelt, ein Volk des Gottes Abrahams. Denn Gotte gehören die Schilde der Erde; er ist hoch erhaben.
