Psalms 46
1 God is the one who protects us and causes us to be strong; he is always ready to help us when we have troubles.
Pour la fin, aux fils de Coré, pour les secrets, psaume. Dieu est notre refuge et notre force, notre aide dans les tribulations qui nous ont assaillis très violemment.
2 So, even if the earth shakes, we will not be afraid. Even if the mountains fall into the middle of the sea,
C’est pour cela que nous ne craindrons pas, tandis que la terre sera bouleversée, et que des montagnes seront transportées au cœur des mers,
3 and if the water in the sea roars and foams, and the hills shake violently, we will not be afraid!
Leurs flots ont mugi et ont été agités: les montagnes ont été ébranlées par la puissance de Dieu.
4 [Blessings that come from] God are like a river that makes everyone in the city where [we worship] God joyful. It is the city where the temple of God, who is greater than any other god, exists.
Le cours d’un fleuve abondant réjouit la cité de Dieu; le Très-Haut y a sanctifié son tabernacle.
5 God is in this city, and it will never be destroyed; he will [come to] help [the people in] that city at dawn every day.
Dieu est au milieu de cette cité, elle ne sera pas ébranlée: Dieu la protégera dès le matin, au lever de l’aurore.
6 [Sometimes] the [people of many] nations are terrified; kingdoms (are overthrown/cease to exist); God speaks [loudly like thunder], and the earth melts (OR, people everywhere become terrified) [MET].
Des nations ont été troublées et des royaumes ont chancelé: il a fait entendre sa voix, et la terre a été ébranlée.
7 But Yahweh, the commander of the armies of heaven, is with us; the God whom Jacob worshiped (OR, we Israeli people worship) is our refuge.
Le Seigneur des armées est avec nous: le Dieu de Jacob est notre soutien.
8 Come and (see/think about) the amazing things that Yahweh has done [DOU]!
Venez, et voyez les œuvres du Seigneur, vrais prodiges qu’il a opérés sur la terre,
9 He stops wars all over the world; he breaks bows [and arrows]; he destroys spears; he burns up shields.
En faisant cesser les guerres jusqu’à l’extrémité de la terre. Il brisera l’arc, mettra les armes en pièces; et les boucliers, il les brûlera dans le feu.
10 [God says], “Be quiet, and remember that I am God! I will be honored by the people of all nations. I will be honored all over the earth.”
Tenez-vous en repos, et voyez que c’est moi qui suis Dieu; je serai exalté parmi les nations; et je serai exalté par toute la terre.
11 [So never forget that] Yahweh, the commander of the armies of heaven, is with us; the God whom Jacob worshiped (OR, we Israeli people worship) is our refuge.
Le Seigneur des armées est avec nous: notre soutien est le Dieu de Jacob.
