< Psalms 30 >
1 Yahweh, I praise you because you rescued me. You did not allow [me to die], [with the result that] my enemies could gloat/rejoice.
E HAPAI aku au ia oe, e Iehova, no kou hoopakelo ana ia'u; Aole oe i hoohauoli i ko'u poe enemi maluna iho o'u.
2 Yahweh, my God, I called out for you to help [me when I was ill], and you healed me.
E Iehova ko'u Akua, ua ulono aku au ia oe, A ua hoola mai nei oe ia'u.
3 You saved/restored me when I was dying [MTY]. I was nearly dead, but you caused me to get well again. (Sheol )
E Iehova, ua lawe mai oe i kuu uhane mai ka luakupapau: Ua hoomau oe i kuu ola i ole au e iho ilalo i ka lua. (Sheol )
4 All you who belong to Yahweh, sing praise to him! Think about what [God], the holy one, has done, and thank him!
E himeni aku ia Iehova, e kona poe haipule; E hoomaikai hoi i ka hoomanao ana i kona hoano.
5 When he becomes angry, he is angry for only a very short time [HYP], but he is good [to us] all of our life. We may cry during the night, but the next morning we will be joyful.
No ka mea, hookahi sekona kona huhu: He ola no nae iloko o kona lokomaikai. He uwe ana paha i ka po hookahi; Aka, hiki mai no ka hauoli i ke kakahiaka.
6 As for me, when I had no troubles, I said [to myself], “No one will defeat me!”
I iho la au i kuu pomaikai ana, Aole loa au e hoonauweweia.
7 Yahweh, because you were good to me, at first you caused me to be safe [as though I was inside] [MET] a mountain. But then [I became ill, and I thought that] you had turned away from me, and I became afraid.
E Iehova, ma kou lokomaikai, ua, hookupaa oe i kuu mauna: Huna aku la oe i kou maka, pilikia iho la au.
8 [Then] I called out to you, and I pleaded for you [to help me].
Kahea aku la au ia oe, e Iehova; Pule aku la hoi au i ka Haku.
9 [I said], “Yahweh, (what will you gain if I die?/ you won’t gain anything if I die) [MTY]. (In what way will it benefit you?/it won’t benefit you at all) if I go to the place where the dead people are [RHQ]. Dead people are certainly not able to praise you [RHQ], and they are not able to tell others that you are trustworthy [RHQ]!
Heaha ka waiwai o kuu koko i kuu iho ana i ka lua? E hoolea anei ka lepo ia oe? E hai aku anei oia i kou oiaio?
10 Yahweh, listen to me, and be merciful to me! Yahweh, help me!”
E hoolohe mai, e Iehova, a e aloha mai oe ia'u: E Iehova, e lilo mai oe i kokua no'u.
11 But [now you have healed me], and you have caused me to change from being sad to dancing [joyfully]. You have taken away the clothes that showed that I was very sad and you have given me clothes that showed that I was [very] joyful.
Ua hoolilo oe i kuu uwe ana i haa ana no'u: Ua kala oe i kuu kapa iuo; A ua kakoo mai oe ia'u me ka hauoli;
12 So I will not be silent; I will sing out [loudly] to praise you. Yahweh, you are my God, and I will thank you forever.
I hoolea ko'u nani ia oe, aole o mumule. E Iehova ko'u Akua, e hoomaikai mau loa aku au ia oe.
