< Psalms 29 >
1 You angels in heaven, praise Yahweh! Praise him because he is very glorious and powerful.
Zabbuli ya Dawudi. Mutendereze Mukama, mmwe abaana b’ab’amaanyi. Mutendereze Mukama n’ekitiibwa n’amaanyi.
2 Proclaim that (he/his name) is glorious; bow down before Yahweh in his holy [temple].
Mutendereze Mukama n’ekitiibwa ekisaanira erinnya lye; musinze Mukama mu kitiibwa eky’obutukuvu bwe.
3 Yahweh’s voice is heard above the oceans; Yahweh, the glorious God, thunders. His voice thunders over the huge oceans [DOU].
Eddoboozi lya Mukama liwulirwa ku mazzi; Katonda ow’ekitiibwa abwatuka, n’eddoboozi lye ne liwulirwa ku mazzi amangi.
4 His voice is powerful and majestic.
Eddoboozi lya Mukama ly’amaanyi; eddoboozi lya Mukama lijjudde ekitiibwa.
5 The sound of Yahweh’s voice breaks great cedar trees, the cedars that grow in Lebanon.
Eddoboozi lya Mukama limenya emivule; Mukama amenyaamenya emivule gya Lebanooni.
6 He causes [the mountains in] Lebanon to jump like calves jump, and causes Hermon [Mountain] to jump like a young bull jumps.
Aleetera Lebanooni okubuukabuuka ng’akayana, ne Siriyooni ng’ennyana y’embogo.
7 Yahweh’s voice causes lightning to flash.
Eddoboozi lya Mukama libwatukira mu kumyansa.
8 His voice causes the desert to shake; he shakes Kadesh Desert [in the southern part of Judah].
Eddoboozi lya Mukama likankanya eddungu; Mukama akankanya eddungu lya Kadesi.
9 Yahweh’s voice shakes the huge oak trees and strips the leaves from the trees while the people in the temple shout, “Praise [God]!”
Eddoboozi lya Mukama linyoolanyoola emivule, n’emiti mu bibira ne gitasigalako makoola. Mu Yeekaalu ye, abantu bonna boogerera waggulu nti, “Ekitiibwa kibe eri Mukama!”
10 Yahweh ruled over the flood [that covered the earth]; he is our King who will rule forever.
Mukama atuula waggulu w’amataba ku ntebe ye ey’obwakabaka. Mukama ye Kabaka afuga emirembe gyonna.
11 Yahweh enables his people to be strong, and he blesses them by causing things to go well for them.
Mukama awa abantu be amaanyi; Mukama awa abantu be emirembe.
