Psalms 18
1 Yahweh, I love you, the one who enables me to be strong.
௧இசைத் தலைவனுக்கு யெகோவாவுடைய ஊழியனாகிய தாவீது எழுதிய பாடல். சவுலிடமிருந்தும் பிற பகைவர்களிடமிருந்தும் யெகோவா அவனைத் தப்புவித்தபோது எழுதப்பட்ட பாடல். என் பெலனாகிய யெகோவாவே, உம்மில் அன்புகூருவேன்.
2 Yahweh is like an [overhanging] rock [DOU, MET] [under which I can hide from my enemies]; he is like a strong fortress, the one who protects me; he protects me like a shield [MET] [protects a soldier]; he is the one to whom I go (for refuge/to be protected/safe), and he defends me by his great power [IDM].
௨யெகோவா என் கன்மலையும், என் கோட்டையும், என் இரட்சகரும், என் தேவனும், நான் அடைக்கலம் புகும் என் கோபுரமும், என் கேடகமும், என் இரட்சிப்பின் கொம்பும், என் உயர்ந்த அடைக்கலமுமாக இருக்கிறார்.
3 I called out to Yahweh, who deserves to be praised, and he rescued me from my enemies.
௩துதிக்குப் பாத்திரராகிய யெகோவாவை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுவேன்; அதனால் என்னுடைய எதிரிகளுக்கு நீங்கலாகிப் பாதுகாக்கப்படுவேன்.
4 All around me were dangerous situations in which I might be killed [PRS]; it was as though there were huge waves [MET] that almost crashed on me and killed me.
௪மரணக்கட்டுகள் என்னைச் சுற்றிக்கொண்டன; மாபெரும் அலைகள் என்னைப் பயப்படுத்தினது.
5 [It was as though] the place where dead people are had ropes that were wrapped around me, or [it was as though] there was a trap [MET] that would [seize and] kill me. (Sheol h7585)
௫பாதாளக்கட்டுகள் என்னைச் சூழ்ந்துகொண்டன; மரணக் கண்ணிகள் என்மேல் விழுந்தன. (Sheol h7585)
6 But when I was very distressed, I called out to Yahweh, and from his temple he heard me. He listened to me when I cried out [for help].
௬எனக்கு உண்டான நெருக்கத்திலே யெகோவாவை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டேன், என் தேவனை நோக்கி சத்தமிட்டேன்; தமது ஆலயத்திலிருந்து என்னுடைய சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டார், என்னுடைய கூப்பிடுதல் அவர் சந்நிதியில் போய், அவர் காதுகளில் விழுந்தது.
7 Then the earth quaked/shook strongly [DOU]; the mountains shook very strongly from their centers [DOU] because Yahweh was angry.
௭அவர் கோபங்கொண்டபடியால் பூமி அசைந்து அதிர்ந்தது, மலைகளின் அஸ்திபாரங்கள் குலுங்கி அசைந்தன.
8 [It was as though] smoke poured out from his nostrils, and [as though] burning coals came out of his mouth.
௮அவர் மூக்கிலிருந்து புகை எழும்பிற்று, அவர் வாயிலிருந்து எரியும் நெருப்பு புறப்பட்டது; அதனால் தழல் மூண்டது.
9 He opened the sky and came down with a black cloud under his feet.
௯வானங்களைத் தாழ்த்தி இறங்கினார்; அவர் பாதங்களின்கீழ் காரிருள் இருந்தது.
10 He flew, riding on the back of a creature that had wings, traveling [fast], blown along by the wind.
௧0கேருபீன்மேல் ஏறி வேகமாகச் சென்றார்; காற்றின் இறக்கைகளைக் கொண்டு பறந்தார்.
11 Darkness was all around him [like a blanket] [MET]; dark clouds, full of moisture, covered him [MET].
௧௧இருளைத் தமக்கு மறைவிடமாக்கினார்; தண்ணீர் நிறைந்த கறுத்த மழைமேகங்களையும் தம்மை சூழ்ந்திருக்கும் கூடாரமாக்கினார்.
12 Hailstones and flashes of lightning were around him; hail and burning coals fell from the sky.
௧௨அவருடைய சந்நிதிப் பிரகாசத்தினால் அவருடைய மேகங்கள், கல்மழையும் நெருப்புத்தழலையும் பொழிந்தன.
13 Then Yahweh [spoke in a loud voice] from the sky, and [his enemies] heard his voice that sounded like thunder.
௧௩யெகோவா வானங்களிலே குமுறினார், உன்னதமான தேவனானவர் தமது சத்தத்தைத் தொனிக்கச்செய்தார்; கல்மழையும் நெருப்புத்தழலும் பொழிந்தன.
14 He shot his arrows at them and caused them to scatter; His flashes of lightning caused them to become very confused (OR, to run away).
௧௪தம்முடைய அம்புகளை எய்து, அவர்களைச் சிதறடித்தார்; மின்னல்களைப் பயன்படுத்தி, அவர்களைக் கலங்கச்செய்தார்.
15 The bottom of the ocean became visible, and the foundations of the earth were uncovered, when Yahweh rebuked his enemies when he snorted.
௧௫அப்பொழுது யெகோவாவே, உம்முடைய கண்டிப்பினாலும் உம்முடைய மூக்கின் சுவாசக்காற்றினாலும் தண்ணீர்களின் ஆழங்கள் தென்பட்டன, உலகின் அஸ்திபாரங்கள் வெளிப்பட்டன.
16 [It was as though] he reached down from heaven and grabbed me and pulled me up out of the deep ocean.
௧௬உயரத்திலிருந்து அவர் கைநீட்டி, என்னைப் பிடித்து, பெருக்கெடுத்து ஓடும் தண்ணீரிலிருந்து என்னைத் தூக்கிவிட்டார்.
17 He rescued me from my strong enemies who hated me; they were very strong, with the result that I [could not defeat them].
௧௭என்னிலும் பலவான்களாக இருந்த என்னுடைய பலத்த எதிரிகளுக்கும் என்னைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களுக்கும் என்னை விடுவித்தார்.
18 When I (was distressed/had troubles), they attacked me, but Yahweh defended/protected me.
௧௮என்னுடைய ஆபத்துநாளில் எனக்கு எதிரிட்டு வந்தார்கள்; யெகோவாவோ எனக்கு ஆதரவாக இருந்தார்.
19 He led me to a place where I was safe; he rescued me because he was pleased with me.
௧௯என்மேல் அவர் பிரியமாக இருந்தபடியால், விசாலமான இடத்திலே என்னைக் கொண்டுவந்து, என்னைத் தப்புவித்தார்.
20 Yahweh has rewarded me because I do what is right; he has blessed me because I (am innocent/have not done things that are wrong).
௨0யெகோவா என்னுடைய நீதிக்குத்தகுந்தபடி எனக்குப் பதிலளித்தார்; என்னுடைய கைகளின் சுத்தத்திற்குத்தகுந்தபடி எனக்குச் சரிக்கட்டினார்.
21 I have obeyed Yahweh’s laws; I have not abandoned him.
௨௧ஏனெனில் யெகோவாவுடைய வழிகளைக் கைக்கொண்டுவந்தேன்; நான் என் தேவனைவிட்டுத் துன்மார்க்கமாக விலகினதில்லை.
22 My behavior was directed by his rules; I have not stopped obeying them.
௨௨அவருடைய நியாயங்களையெல்லாம் எனக்கு முன்பாக இருக்கின்றன; அவருடைய பிரமாணங்களை நான் தள்ளிப்போடவில்லை.
23 He knows that I have not done what is wrong; I have kept myself from sinning.
௨௩உன்னத தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக நான் உத்தமனாக இருந்து, என்னுடைய பாவத்திற்கு என்னை விலக்கிக் காத்துக்கொண்டேன்.
24 So he rewards me because I do what is right; he knows that I [SYN] have not committed sins.
௨௪ஆகையால் யெகோவா என்னுடைய நீதிக்குத் தகுந்ததாகவும், தம்முடைய கண்களுக்கு முன்னிருக்கிற என்னுடைய கைகளின் சுத்தத்திற்கும் தக்கதாகவும் எனக்குப் பலனளித்தார்.
25 Yahweh, you are faithful to those who faithfully [do what you tell them to do]; you always do what is good/right to those who do what you want them to do.
௨௫தயவுள்ளவனுக்கு நீர் தயவுள்ளவராகவும், உத்தமனுக்கு நீர் உத்தமராகவும்;
26 You are kind to those who are kind to others, but you act wisely toward those who (act perversely/do bad things).
௨௬புனிதனுக்கு நீர் புனிதராகவும், மாறுபாடுள்ளவனுக்கு நீர் மாறுபடுகிறவராகவும் தோன்றுவீர்.
27 You save those who are humble, but you cause those who are proud to be humiliated/ashamed.
௨௭தேவனே நீர் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மக்களை காப்பாற்றுவீர்; மேட்டிமையான கண்களைத் தாழ்த்துவீர்.
28 You give light to my [soul/spirit]; you take away the darkness of my soul.
௨௮தேவனே நீர் என்னுடைய விளக்கை ஏற்றுவீர்; என் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா என்னுடைய இருளை வெளிச்சமாக்குவார்.
29 You enable me to be strong, with the result that I can run and attack a line of enemy soldiers; with your help I can (scale/climb up) the walls [that surround my enemies’ cities].
௨௯உம்மாலே ஒரு சேனையை என் கால்களால் மிதிப்பேன்; என் தேவனாலே ஒரு மதிலைத் தாண்டுவேன்.
30 Everything that Yahweh my God does is perfect. We can depend on him to do what he promises. He is like a shield [MET] to protect all those who go to him for refuge.
௩0தேவனுடைய வழி உத்தமமானது; யெகோவாவுடைய வசனம் புடமிடப்பட்டது; தம்மை நம்புகிற அனைவருக்கும் அவர் கேடகமாக இருக்கிறார்.
31 Yahweh is [RHQ] the only one who is God; only he is like an [overhanging] rock [under which we can be safe].
௩௧யெகோவாவை தவிர தேவன் யார்? நம்முடைய தேவன் இல்லாமல் கன்மலையும் யார்?
32 God is the one who enables me to be strong and who keeps me safe on the roads that I walk on.
௩௨என்னைப் பலத்தால் இடைகட்டி, என்னுடைய வழியைச் செவ்வைப்படுத்துகிறவர் தேவனே.
33 He enables me to [walk swiftly without stumbling], like a deer walks/runs in the mountains.
௩௩அவர் என் கால்களை மான்களுடைய கால்களைப்போலாக்கி, உயர்வான இடங்களில் என்னை நிறுத்துகிறார்.
34 He teaches me how to use a strong/metal bow in order that I can use it to fight in battles.
௩௪வெண்கல வில்லும் என்னுடைய கைகளால் வளையும்படி, என்னுடைய கைகளை யுத்தத்திற்குப் பழக்குவிக்கிறார்.
35 Yahweh, you protect and save me with your shield; you have made me safe by your power [MTY]. I have become (strong/a great [king]) because you have helped me.
௩௫உம்முடைய இரட்சிப்பின் கேடகத்தையும் எனக்குத் தந்தீர்; உம்முடைய வலதுகை என்னைத் தாங்குகிறது; உம்முடைய கருணை என்னைப் பெரியவனாக்கும்.
36 You have cleared the road for me, with the result that now I do not slip/stumble.
௩௬என்னுடைய கால்கள் வழுக்காதபடி, நான் நடக்கிற வழியை அகலமாக்கினீர்.
37 I have pursued my enemies and caught them; I did not stop until I had defeated/killed them all.
௩௭என்னுடைய எதிரிகளைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து, அவர்களைப் பிடித்தேன்; அவர்களை அழிக்கும் வரைக்கும் நான் திரும்பவில்லை.
38 When I strike them, they are not able to get up again; they lie on the ground, defeated.
௩௮அவர்கள் எழுந்திருக்க முடியாதபடி அவர்களை வெட்டினேன்.
39 You have enabled me to be strong in order that I can fight battles and defeat my enemies.
௩௯போருக்கு நீர் என்னைப் பலத்தால் இடைகட்டி, என்மேல் எழும்பினவர்களை என் கீழ் மடங்கச்செய்தீர்.
40 You caused my enemies to run away (OR, you enabled me to put my foot on my enemies’ necks [after I captured them and forced them to lie on the ground]); I have gotten rid of all those who hated me.
௪0நான் என்னுடைய எதிரியை அழிக்கும்படி, என்னுடைய எதிரிகளின் கழுத்தை எனக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தீர்.
41 They called out for someone to help them, but no one saved them.
௪௧அவர்கள் கூப்பிடுகிறார்கள், அவர்களைக் காப்பாற்றுகிறவர்கள் ஒருவருமில்லை; யெகோவாவை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகிறார்கள், அவர்களுக்கு அவர் பதிலளிக்கிறதில்லை.
42 I pulverize them, with the result that they become like [MET] the dust that the wind [blows away]; I throw them out like [SIM] [people throw] dirt out into the streets.
௪௨நான் அவர்களைக் காற்றின்திசையிலே பறக்கிற தூசியாக இடித்து, தெருக்களிலுள்ள சேற்றைப்போல் அவர்களை எறிந்துபோடுகிறேன்.
43 You enabled me to defeat those who fought against me, and appointed me to be the ruler of [many]; people whom I did not know about previously are now slaves [in my kingdom].
௪௩மக்களின் கலகங்களுக்கு நீர் என்னைத் தப்புவித்தீர், தேசங்களுக்கு என்னைத் தலைவனாக்குகிறீர்; நான் அறியாத மக்கள் எனக்கு சேவைசெய்கிறார்கள்.
44 When foreigners hear about me, they (cringe/bow low before me) and they obey me.
௪௪அவர்கள் என்னுடைய சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டவுடனே எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறார்கள்; அந்நியரும் என்னிடம் கூனிக்குறுகுகிறார்கள்.
45 They are no longer courageous, and from their forts [where they were hiding] they come [to me] trembling.
௪௫அந்நியர் மனமடிந்து, தங்களுடைய அரண்களிலிருந்து தத்தளிப்பாகப் புறப்படுகிறார்கள்.
46 Yahweh is alive! Praise the one who is like an [overhanging] rock [MET] [under which I am safe] Exalt the God who saves me!
௪௬யெகோவா உயிருள்ளவர்; என்னுடைய கன்மலையானவர் துதிக்கப்படுவாராக; என்னுடைய இரட்சிப்பின் தேவன் உயர்ந்திருப்பாராக.
47 He enables me to get revenge on my enemies; he causes me to defeat nations and to rule over them,
௪௭அவர் எனக்காகப் பழிக்குப் பழிவாங்குகிற தேவன். அவர் மக்களை எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படுத்துகிறவர்.
48 and he rescues me from my enemies. He has lifted me up high so that violent men could not reach me [and harm me].
௪௮அவரே என்னுடைய எதிரிகளுக்கு என்னை விலக்கி விடுவிக்கிறவர்; எனக்கு விரோதமாக எழும்புகிறவர்களைவிட என்னை நீர் உயர்த்தி, கொடுமையான மனிதனுக்கு என்னைத் தப்புவிக்கிறீர்.
49 So I praise him [and I tell] the nations [the great things that he has done].
௪௯இதற்காக யெகோவாவே, தேசங்களுக்குள்ளே உம்மைத் துதித்து, உம்முடைய பெயருக்கு பாட்டு பாடுவேன்.
50 He has enabled me, his king, to powerfully defeat my enemies; he faithfully loves me, David, the one he has chosen [to be king], and he will faithfully love my descendants forever.
௫0தாம் ஏற்படுத்தின இராஜாவுக்கு மகத்தான இரட்சிப்பை அளித்து, தாம் அபிஷேகம்செய்த தாவீதிற்கும் அவனுடைய சந்ததிக்கும் என்றென்றும் கிருபை செய்கிறார்.
