< Psalms 18 >
1 Yahweh, I love you, the one who enables me to be strong.
Rabbiyow, xooggaygiiyow, anigu waan ku jeclahay.
2 Yahweh is like an [overhanging] rock [DOU, MET] [under which I can hide from my enemies]; he is like a strong fortress, the one who protects me; he protects me like a shield [MET] [protects a soldier]; he is the one to whom I go (for refuge/to be protected/safe), and he defends me by his great power [IDM].
Rabbigu waa dhagax weyn oo ii gabbaad ah iyo qalcaddayda, iyo samatabbixiyahayga, Iyo Ilaahay, iyo gabbaadkayga adag, oo isagaan isku hallayn doonaa, Isagu waa gaashaankayga, iyo geeska badbaadadayda, iyo munaaraddayda dheer.
3 I called out to Yahweh, who deserves to be praised, and he rescued me from my enemies.
Waxaan baryayaa Rabbiga istaahila in la ammaano, Oo sidaasaan cadaawayaashayda kaga badbaadi doonaa.
4 All around me were dangerous situations in which I might be killed [PRS]; it was as though there were huge waves [MET] that almost crashed on me and killed me.
Waxaa i hareereeyey xadhkihii dhimashada, Oo waxaa i cabsiiyey daadkii cibaadala'aanta.
5 [It was as though] the place where dead people are had ropes that were wrapped around me, or [it was as though] there was a trap [MET] that would [seize and] kill me. (Sheol )
Waxaa igu wareegsanaa xadhkihii She'ool, Oo waxaa i qabsaday dabinnadii dhimashada. (Sheol )
6 But when I was very distressed, I called out to Yahweh, and from his temple he heard me. He listened to me when I cried out [for help].
Anigoo cidhiidhi ku jira ayaan Rabbiga baryay, Oo waxaan u qayshaday Ilaahay, Isna codkayguu macbudkiisa ka maqlay, Oo qayladayda hortiisa ka yeedhaysaana dhegihiisay gashay.
7 Then the earth quaked/shook strongly [DOU]; the mountains shook very strongly from their centers [DOU] because Yahweh was angry.
Markaasaa dhulku ruxmay oo gariiray, Oo buuraha aasaaskoodiina wuu dhaqdhaqaaqay, Oo wuu ruxmay, maxaa yeelay, Ilaah waa cadhaysnaa.
8 [It was as though] smoke poured out from his nostrils, and [as though] burning coals came out of his mouth.
Dulalka sankiisa waxaa ka soo baxay qiiq, Afkiisana waxaa ka soo baxay dab wax gubaya, oo dhuxulaa ka shidmay isaga.
9 He opened the sky and came down with a black cloud under his feet.
Oo weliba samooyinka wuu soo foorarshay, oo hoos buu u soo degay, Oo cagihiisana waxaa hoos yiil gudcur weyn.
10 He flew, riding on the back of a creature that had wings, traveling [fast], blown along by the wind.
Oo wuxuu fuulay keruub, wuuna duulay, Haah, oo wuxuu si dheeraysa ugu duulay oo fuulay dabaysha baalasheeda.
11 Darkness was all around him [like a blanket] [MET]; dark clouds, full of moisture, covered him [MET].
Wuxuu gudcurka ka dhigtay meeshiisii dhuumashada, iyo taambuuggiisa hareerihiisa ku wareegsan, Iyo biyo gudcur ah, iyo daruuraha qarada waaweyn oo cirka.
12 Hailstones and flashes of lightning were around him; hail and burning coals fell from the sky.
Nuurkii hortiisa yiil aawadiis ayay daruurihii qarada waaweynaa tageen, Roobkii dhagaxyada lahaa iyo dhuxulihii dabka ahaana way carareen.
13 Then Yahweh [spoke in a loud voice] from the sky, and [his enemies] heard his voice that sounded like thunder.
Rabbiguna wuxuu ka onkoday samooyinka, Sarreeyuhuna wuxuu ku hadlay codkiisii, Oo soo daayay roob dhagaxyaale iyo dhuxulo dab ah.
14 He shot his arrows at them and caused them to scatter; His flashes of lightning caused them to become very confused (OR, to run away).
Markaasuu fallaadhihiisii soo ganay oo kala firdhiyey iyagii, Haah, oo wuxuu u soo diray hillaac badan, wuuna baabbi'iyey iyagii.
15 The bottom of the ocean became visible, and the foundations of the earth were uncovered, when Yahweh rebuked his enemies when he snorted.
Rabbiyow, canaantaadii aawadeed iyo dulalka sankaaga neefta ka soo baxaysa aawadeed Ayaa durdurradii biyuhu la muuqdeen, Oo aasaaskii duniduna wuu soo bannaan baxay.
16 [It was as though] he reached down from heaven and grabbed me and pulled me up out of the deep ocean.
Xagga sare ayuu cid ka soo diray, oo wuu i qaaday, Oo wuxuu iga soo dhex bixiyey biyo badan.
17 He rescued me from my strong enemies who hated me; they were very strong, with the result that I [could not defeat them].
Wuxuu iga samatabbixiyey cadowgaygii xoogga badnaa, Iyo kuwii i necbaaba, waayo, iyagu way iga xoog badnaayeen.
18 When I (was distressed/had troubles), they attacked me, but Yahweh defended/protected me.
Waxay igu soo kediyeen maalintii aan belaayaysnaa, Laakiinse Rabbigu wuxuu ii ahaa tiir.
19 He led me to a place where I was safe; he rescued me because he was pleased with me.
Oo weliba wuxuu i keenay meel ballaadhan, Wuu i soo samatabbixiyey, maxaa yeelay, wuu igu farxay.
20 Yahweh has rewarded me because I do what is right; he has blessed me because I (am innocent/have not done things that are wrong).
Rabbigu wuxuu iigu abaalguday sidii ay xaqnimadaydii ahayd, Oo sidii ay nadiifsanaantii gacmahaygu ahayd ayuu iigu abaalguday.
21 I have obeyed Yahweh’s laws; I have not abandoned him.
Waayo, anigu waan xajiyey jidadkii Rabbiga, Oo Ilaahayna si caasinimo ah ugama tegin.
22 My behavior was directed by his rules; I have not stopped obeying them.
Waayo, xukummadiisii oo dhammu hortayday yiilleen, Oo qaynuunnadiisiina anigu iskama tuurin.
23 He knows that I have not done what is wrong; I have kept myself from sinning.
Oo weliba xaggiisana waan ku qummanaa, Oo waan iska dhawray xumaantaydii.
24 So he rewards me because I do what is right; he knows that I [SYN] have not committed sins.
Sidaas daraaddeed ayaa Rabbigu iigu abaalguday sidii ay xaqnimadaydii ahayd, Iyo sidii nadiifsanaanta gacmahaygu ay ku ahayd indhihiisa hortooda.
25 Yahweh, you are faithful to those who faithfully [do what you tell them to do]; you always do what is good/right to those who do what you want them to do.
Kii naxariis leh waad u naxariisanaysaa, Oo ninkii qummanna waad u qummanaanaysaa.
26 You are kind to those who are kind to others, but you act wisely toward those who (act perversely/do bad things).
Kii daahir ahna daahir baad u ahaanaysaa, Oo kii qalloocanna mid maroorsan baad u ahaanaysaa.
27 You save those who are humble, but you cause those who are proud to be humiliated/ashamed.
Waayo, waxaad badbaadinaysaa dadka dhibaataysan, Laakiinse indhaha kibirsan waad soo dejinaysaa.
28 You give light to my [soul/spirit]; you take away the darkness of my soul.
Waayo, waxaad daaraysaa laambaddayda, Rabbiga Ilaahayga ah ayaa gudcurkayga iftiiminaya.
29 You enable me to be strong, with the result that I can run and attack a line of enemy soldiers; with your help I can (scale/climb up) the walls [that surround my enemies’ cities].
Waayo, adaan col kuugu dhex ordaa, Oo Ilaahay caawimaaddiisa ayaan derbi kaga boodaa.
30 Everything that Yahweh my God does is perfect. We can depend on him to do what he promises. He is like a shield [MET] to protect all those who go to him for refuge.
Ilaah jidkiisu waa qumman yahay, Rabbiga eraygiisuna waa mid la tijaabiyey, Isagu wuxuu gaashaan u yahay kuwa isaga isku halleeya oo dhan.
31 Yahweh is [RHQ] the only one who is God; only he is like an [overhanging] rock [under which we can be safe].
Waayo, bal yaa Ilaah ah, Rabbiga mooyaane? Oo bal yaa dhagax weyn ah, Ilaahayaga mooyaane?
32 God is the one who enables me to be strong and who keeps me safe on the roads that I walk on.
Kaasoo ah Ilaaha ii guntiya xoog, Jidkaygana qummaatiya.
33 He enables me to [walk swiftly without stumbling], like a deer walks/runs in the mountains.
Isagu cagahayga wuxuu ka dhigaa sida cagaha deerada, Oo wuxuu igu fadhiisiyaa meelahayga sare.
34 He teaches me how to use a strong/metal bow in order that I can use it to fight in battles.
Gacmahaygana wuxuu baraa dagaalka, Oo sidaas daraaddeed gacmahaygu waxay xoodaan qaanso naxaas ah.
35 Yahweh, you protect and save me with your shield; you have made me safe by your power [MTY]. I have become (strong/a great [king]) because you have helped me.
Weliba waxaad kaloo i siisay gaashaankii badbaadintaada, Oo waxaa kor ii qaadday gacantaada midig, Oo roonaantaada ayaa i weynaysay.
36 You have cleared the road for me, with the result that now I do not slip/stumble.
Adigu tallaabooyinkayga waxaad ku ballaadhisay hoostayda, Oo cagahayguna ma ay simbiriirixan.
37 I have pursued my enemies and caught them; I did not stop until I had defeated/killed them all.
Anigu waxaan eryan doonaa cadaawayaashayda, oo waan gaadhi doonaa, Oo jeeray wada baabba'aanna dib uga soo noqon maayo.
38 When I strike them, they are not able to get up again; they lie on the ground, defeated.
Waan wada layn doonaa si aanay mar dambe u awoodin inay kacaan, Oo cagahaygay ku soo hoos dhici doonaan.
39 You have enabled me to be strong in order that I can fight battles and defeat my enemies.
Waayo, xoog baad iigu guntisay dagaalka aawadiis, Oo kuwii igu kacayna hoostaydaad ku soo tuurtay.
40 You caused my enemies to run away (OR, you enabled me to put my foot on my enemies’ necks [after I captured them and forced them to lie on the ground]); I have gotten rid of all those who hated me.
Oo weliba cadaawayaashaydii waxaad ka dhigtay inay dhabarka ii jeediyaan, Si aan u kala gooyo kuwa i neceb.
41 They called out for someone to help them, but no one saved them.
Iyagu way qayshadeen, laakiinse way waayeen mid iyaga badbaadiya, Oo xataa Rabbiga way baryeen, laakiinse uma uu jawaabin.
42 I pulverize them, with the result that they become like [MET] the dust that the wind [blows away]; I throw them out like [SIM] [people throw] dirt out into the streets.
Markaasaan iyagii u duqeeyey sida boodhka dabaysha hor kaca, Oo waxaan iyagii dibadda ugu tuuray sidii dhoobada jidadka taal oo kale.
43 You enabled me to defeat those who fought against me, and appointed me to be the ruler of [many]; people whom I did not know about previously are now slaves [in my kingdom].
Waxaad iga samatabbixisay murankii dadka, Oo waxaad iga dhigtay quruumaha madaxdoodii, Oo dad aanan aqoon ayaa ii adeegi doona.
44 When foreigners hear about me, they (cringe/bow low before me) and they obey me.
Oo mar alla markii ay warkayga maqlaan way i addeeci doonaan, Oo shisheeyayaashuna way isu kay dhiibi doonaan,
45 They are no longer courageous, and from their forts [where they were hiding] they come [to me] trembling.
Shisheeyayaashu way libdhi doonaan, Oo iyagoo gariiraya ayay qolalkooda ka soo bixi doonaan.
46 Yahweh is alive! Praise the one who is like an [overhanging] rock [MET] [under which I am safe] Exalt the God who saves me!
Rabbigu waa nool yahay, oo mahad waxaa leh dhagaxayga weyn, Oo Ilaaha i badbaadiyeyna ha sarreeyo,
47 He enables me to get revenge on my enemies; he causes me to defeat nations and to rule over them,
Kaasoo ah Ilaaha aniga ii aarguda, Oo dadkana hoostayda ku soo tuura.
48 and he rescues me from my enemies. He has lifted me up high so that violent men could not reach me [and harm me].
Isagu wuxuu iga badbaadiyaa cadaawayaashayda, Haah, oo adigu waxaad iga sara marisaa kuwa igu kaca, Oo waxaad iga samatabbixisaa ninka dulmiga badan.
49 So I praise him [and I tell] the nations [the great things that he has done].
Sidaas daraaddeed, Rabbiyow, anigu waxaan kuugu mahadnaqi doonaa quruumaha dhexdooda, Oo magacaaga ammaan baan ugu gabyi doonaa.
50 He has enabled me, his king, to powerfully defeat my enemies; he faithfully loves me, David, the one he has chosen [to be king], and he will faithfully love my descendants forever.
Rabbigu si weyn buu boqorkiisa u samatabbixiyaa, Oo wuxuu weligiis raxmad u sameeyaa kii uu subkaday, Kaasoo ah Daa'uud, iyo farcankiisaba weligiis iyo weligiis.
