Psalms 18
1 Yahweh, I love you, the one who enables me to be strong.
എന്റെ ബലമായ യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.
2 Yahweh is like an [overhanging] rock [DOU, MET] [under which I can hide from my enemies]; he is like a strong fortress, the one who protects me; he protects me like a shield [MET] [protects a soldier]; he is the one to whom I go (for refuge/to be protected/safe), and he defends me by his great power [IDM].
യഹോവ എന്റെ ശൈലവും എന്റെ കോട്ടയും എന്റെ രക്ഷകനും എന്റെ ദൈവവും ഞാൻ ശരണമാക്കുന്ന എന്റെ പാറയും എന്റെ പരിചയും എന്റെ രക്ഷയായ കൊമ്പും എന്റെ ഗോപുരവും ആകുന്നു.
3 I called out to Yahweh, who deserves to be praised, and he rescued me from my enemies.
സ്തുത്യനായ യഹോവയെ ഞാൻ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കയും എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷപ്രാപിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.
4 All around me were dangerous situations in which I might be killed [PRS]; it was as though there were huge waves [MET] that almost crashed on me and killed me.
മരണപാശങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ചുറ്റി; അഗാധപ്രവാഹങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചു.
5 [It was as though] the place where dead people are had ropes that were wrapped around me, or [it was as though] there was a trap [MET] that would [seize and] kill me. (Sheol h7585)
പാതാളപാശങ്ങൾ എന്നെ വളഞ്ഞു; മരണത്തിന്റെ കണികളും എന്നെ തുടൎന്നു പിടിച്ചു. (Sheol h7585)
6 But when I was very distressed, I called out to Yahweh, and from his temple he heard me. He listened to me when I cried out [for help].
എന്റെ കഷ്ടതയിൽ ഞാൻ യഹോവയെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിച്ചു, എന്റെ ദൈവത്തോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അവൻ തന്റെ മന്ദിരത്തിൽനിന്നു എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടു; തിരുമുമ്പിൽ ഞാൻ കഴിച്ച പ്രാൎത്ഥന അവന്റെ ചെവിയിൽ എത്തി.
7 Then the earth quaked/shook strongly [DOU]; the mountains shook very strongly from their centers [DOU] because Yahweh was angry.
ഭൂമി ഞെട്ടിവിറെച്ചു; മലകളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ ഇളകി; അവൻ കോപിക്കയാൽ അവ കുലുങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
8 [It was as though] smoke poured out from his nostrils, and [as though] burning coals came out of his mouth.
അവന്റെ മൂക്കിൽനിന്നു പുക പൊങ്ങി; അവന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു തീ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ദഹിപ്പിച്ചു. തീക്കനൽ അവങ്കൽനിന്നു ജ്വലിച്ചു.
9 He opened the sky and came down with a black cloud under his feet.
അവൻ ആകാശം ചായിച്ചിറങ്ങി; കൂരിരുൾ അവന്റെ കാല്ക്കീഴുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
10 He flew, riding on the back of a creature that had wings, traveling [fast], blown along by the wind.
അവൻ കെരൂബിനെ വാഹനമാക്കി പറന്നു; അവൻ കാറ്റിന്റെ ചിറകിന്മേലിരുന്നു പറപ്പിച്ചു.
11 Darkness was all around him [like a blanket] [MET]; dark clouds, full of moisture, covered him [MET].
അവൻ അന്ധകാരത്തെ തന്റെ മറവും ജലതമസ്സിനെയും ആകാശമേഘങ്ങളെയും തനിക്കു ചുറ്റും കൂടാരവുമാക്കി.
12 Hailstones and flashes of lightning were around him; hail and burning coals fell from the sky.
അവന്റെ മുമ്പിലുള്ള പ്രകാശത്താൽ ആലിപ്പഴവും തീക്കനലും അവന്റെ മേഘങ്ങളിൽകൂടി പൊഴിഞ്ഞു.
13 Then Yahweh [spoke in a loud voice] from the sky, and [his enemies] heard his voice that sounded like thunder.
യഹോവ ആകാശത്തിൽ ഇടി മുഴക്കി, അത്യുന്നതൻ തന്റെ നാദം കേൾപ്പിച്ചു, ആലിപ്പഴവും തീക്കനലും പൊഴിഞ്ഞു.
14 He shot his arrows at them and caused them to scatter; His flashes of lightning caused them to become very confused (OR, to run away).
അവൻ അസ്ത്രം എയ്തു അവരെ ചിതറിച്ചു; മിന്നൽ അയച്ചു അവരെ തോല്പിച്ചു.
15 The bottom of the ocean became visible, and the foundations of the earth were uncovered, when Yahweh rebuked his enemies when he snorted.
യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ ഭൎത്സനത്താലും നിന്റെ മൂക്കിലെ ശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ ഊത്തിനാലും നീൎത്തോടുകൾ കാണായ്‌വന്നു ഭൂതലത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ വെളിപ്പെട്ടു.
16 [It was as though] he reached down from heaven and grabbed me and pulled me up out of the deep ocean.
അവൻ ഉയരത്തിൽനിന്നു കൈ നീട്ടി എന്നെ പിടിച്ചു, പെരുവെള്ളത്തിൽനിന്നു എന്നെ വലിച്ചെടുത്തു.
17 He rescued me from my strong enemies who hated me; they were very strong, with the result that I [could not defeat them].
ബലമുള്ള ശത്രുവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും എന്നെ പകെച്ചവരുടെ പക്കൽനിന്നും അവൻ എന്നെ വിടുവിച്ചു; അവർ എന്നിലും ബലമേറിയവരായിരുന്നു.
18 When I (was distressed/had troubles), they attacked me, but Yahweh defended/protected me.
എന്റെ അനൎത്ഥദിവസത്തിൽ അവർ എന്നെ ആക്രമിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ യഹോവ എനിക്കു തുണയായിരുന്നു.
19 He led me to a place where I was safe; he rescued me because he was pleased with me.
അവൻ എന്നെ വിശാലതയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; എന്നിൽ പ്രസാദിച്ചിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ വിടുവിച്ചു.
20 Yahweh has rewarded me because I do what is right; he has blessed me because I (am innocent/have not done things that are wrong).
യഹോവ എന്റെ നീതിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം എനിക്കു പ്രതിഫലം നല്കി; എന്റെ കൈകളുടെ വെടിപ്പിന്നൊത്തവണ്ണം എനിക്കു പകരം തന്നു.
21 I have obeyed Yahweh’s laws; I have not abandoned him.
ഞാൻ യഹോവയുടെ വഴികളെ പ്രമാണിച്ചു; എന്റെ ദൈവത്തോടു ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്തതുമില്ല.
22 My behavior was directed by his rules; I have not stopped obeying them.
അവന്റെ വിധികൾ ഒക്കെയും എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളെ ഞാൻ വിട്ടുനടന്നിട്ടുമില്ല.
23 He knows that I have not done what is wrong; I have kept myself from sinning.
ഞാൻ അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിഷ്കളങ്കനായിരുന്നു; അകൃത്യം ചെയ്യാതെ എന്നെത്തന്നേ കാത്തു.
24 So he rewards me because I do what is right; he knows that I [SYN] have not committed sins.
യഹോവ എന്റെ നീതിപ്രകാരവും അവന്റെ കാഴ്ചയിൽ എന്റെ കൈകൾക്കുള്ള വെടിപ്പിൻപ്രകാരവും എനിക്കു പകരം നല്കി.
25 Yahweh, you are faithful to those who faithfully [do what you tell them to do]; you always do what is good/right to those who do what you want them to do.
ദയാലുവോടു നീ ദയാലു ആകുന്നു; നഷ്കളങ്കനോടു നീ നിഷ്കളങ്കൻ;
26 You are kind to those who are kind to others, but you act wisely toward those who (act perversely/do bad things).
നിൎമ്മലനോടു നീ നിൎമ്മലനാകുന്നു; വക്രനോടു നീ വക്രത കാണിക്കുന്നു.
27 You save those who are humble, but you cause those who are proud to be humiliated/ashamed.
എളിയജനത്തെ നീ രക്ഷിക്കും; നിഗളിച്ചു നടക്കുന്നവരെ നീ താഴ്ത്തും.
28 You give light to my [soul/spirit]; you take away the darkness of my soul.
നീ എന്റെ ദീപത്തെ കത്തിക്കും; എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്റെ അന്ധകാരത്തെ പ്രകാശമാക്കും.
29 You enable me to be strong, with the result that I can run and attack a line of enemy soldiers; with your help I can (scale/climb up) the walls [that surround my enemies’ cities].
നിന്നാൽ ഞാൻ പടക്കൂട്ടത്തിന്റെ നേരെ പാഞ്ഞുചെല്ലും; എന്റെ ദൈവത്താൽ ഞാൻ മതിൽ ചാടിക്കടക്കും.
30 Everything that Yahweh my God does is perfect. We can depend on him to do what he promises. He is like a shield [MET] to protect all those who go to him for refuge.
ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വഴി തികവുള്ളതു; യഹോവയുടെ വചനം ഊതിക്കഴിച്ചതു; തന്നേ ശരണമാക്കുന്ന ഏവൎക്കും അവൻ പരിചയാകുന്നു.
31 Yahweh is [RHQ] the only one who is God; only he is like an [overhanging] rock [under which we can be safe].
യഹോവയല്ലാതെ ദൈവം ആരുള്ളു? നമ്മുടെ ദൈവം ഒഴികെ പാറയാരുള്ളു?
32 God is the one who enables me to be strong and who keeps me safe on the roads that I walk on.
എന്നെ ശക്തികൊണ്ടു അരമുറുക്കുകയും എന്റെ വഴി കുറവുതീൎക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ദൈവം തന്നേ.
33 He enables me to [walk swiftly without stumbling], like a deer walks/runs in the mountains.
അവൻ എന്റെ കാലുകളെ മാൻപേടക്കാല്ക്കു തുല്യമാക്കി, എന്റെ ഗിരികളിൽ എന്നെ നില്ക്കുമാറാക്കുന്നു.
34 He teaches me how to use a strong/metal bow in order that I can use it to fight in battles.
അവൻ എന്റെ കൈകൾക്കു യുദ്ധാഭ്യാസം വരുത്തുന്നു; എന്റെ ഭുജങ്ങൾ താമ്രചാപം കുലെക്കുന്നു.
35 Yahweh, you protect and save me with your shield; you have made me safe by your power [MTY]. I have become (strong/a great [king]) because you have helped me.
നിന്റെ രക്ഷ എന്ന പരിചയെ നീ എനിക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ വലങ്കൈ എന്നെ താങ്ങി നിന്റെ സൌമ്യത എന്നെ വലിയവനാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
36 You have cleared the road for me, with the result that now I do not slip/stumble.
ഞാൻ കാലടി വെക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ വിശാലതവരുത്തി; എന്റെ നരിയാണികൾ വഴുതിപ്പോയതുമില്ല.
37 I have pursued my enemies and caught them; I did not stop until I had defeated/killed them all.
ഞാൻ എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ പിന്തുടൎന്നു പിടിച്ചു; അവരെ മുടിക്കുവോളം ഞാൻ പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞില്ല.
38 When I strike them, they are not able to get up again; they lie on the ground, defeated.
അവൎക്കു എഴുന്നേറ്റുകൂടാതവണ്ണം ഞാൻ അവരെ തകൎത്തു; അവർ എന്റെ കാൽകീഴിൽ വീണിരിക്കുന്നു.
39 You have enabled me to be strong in order that I can fight battles and defeat my enemies.
യുദ്ധത്തിന്നായി നീ എന്റെ അരെക്കു ശക്തി കെട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നോടു എതിൎത്തവരെ എനിക്കു കീഴടക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
40 You caused my enemies to run away (OR, you enabled me to put my foot on my enemies’ necks [after I captured them and forced them to lie on the ground]); I have gotten rid of all those who hated me.
എന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാൻ സംഹരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ എനിക്കു പുറംകാട്ടുമാറാക്കി.
41 They called out for someone to help them, but no one saved them.
അവർ നിലവിളിച്ചു; രക്ഷിപ്പാൻ ആരുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അവൻ ഉത്തരമരുളിയതുമില്ല.
42 I pulverize them, with the result that they become like [MET] the dust that the wind [blows away]; I throw them out like [SIM] [people throw] dirt out into the streets.
ഞാൻ അവരെ കാറ്റത്തെ പൊടിപോലെ പൊടിച്ചു; വീഥികളിലെ ചെളിയെപ്പോലെ ഞാൻ അവരെ കോരിക്കളഞ്ഞു.
43 You enabled me to defeat those who fought against me, and appointed me to be the ruler of [many]; people whom I did not know about previously are now slaves [in my kingdom].
ജനത്തിന്റെ കലഹങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു നീ എന്നെ വിടുവിച്ചു; ജാതികൾക്കു എന്നെ തലവനാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ അറിയാത്ത ജനം എന്നെ സേവിക്കുന്നു.
44 When foreigners hear about me, they (cringe/bow low before me) and they obey me.
അവർ കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ എന്നെ അനുസരിക്കും; അന്യജാതിക്കാർ എന്നോടു അനുസരണഭാവം കാണിക്കും.
45 They are no longer courageous, and from their forts [where they were hiding] they come [to me] trembling.
അന്യജാതിക്കാർ ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; തങ്ങളുടെ ദുൎഗ്ഗങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു അവർ വിറെച്ചുംകൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു.
46 Yahweh is alive! Praise the one who is like an [overhanging] rock [MET] [under which I am safe] Exalt the God who saves me!
യഹോവ ജീവിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ പാറ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ; എന്റെ രക്ഷയുടെ ദൈവം ഉന്നതൻ തന്നേ.
47 He enables me to get revenge on my enemies; he causes me to defeat nations and to rule over them,
ദൈവം എനിക്കു വേണ്ടി പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്കയും ജാതികളെ എനിക്കു കീഴാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
48 and he rescues me from my enemies. He has lifted me up high so that violent men could not reach me [and harm me].
അവൻ ശത്രുവശത്തുനിന്നു എന്നെ വിടുവിക്കുന്നു; എന്നോടു എതിൎക്കുന്നവർക്കു മീതെ നീ എന്നെ ഉയൎത്തുന്നു; സാഹസക്കാരന്റെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു നീ എന്നെ വിടുവിക്കുന്നു.
49 So I praise him [and I tell] the nations [the great things that he has done].
അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ ജാതികളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ നിനക്കു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്യും; നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ ഞാൻ കീൎത്തിക്കും.
50 He has enabled me, his king, to powerfully defeat my enemies; he faithfully loves me, David, the one he has chosen [to be king], and he will faithfully love my descendants forever.
അവൻ തന്റെ രാജാവിന്നു മഹാരക്ഷ നല്കുന്നു; തന്റെ അഭിഷിക്തന്നു ദയ കാണിക്കുന്നു; ദാവീദിന്നും അവന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും എന്നേക്കും തന്നേ.
