Psalms 146
1 Praise Yahweh! With my whole inner being I will praise Yahweh.
Alleluja! Lobpreis den Herrn, du meine Seele!
2 I will praise Yahweh as long as I am alive; I will sing to praise my God for [the rest of] my life.
Solang ich lebe, preise ich den Herrn und singe meinem Gott, solang ich bin.
3 [You people], do not trust in your leaders; do not trust humans because they cannot save/rescue you [from your difficulties/problems].
Verlaßt euch nicht auf einen Fürsten, auf einen Menschen, der sich nimmer helfen kann!
4 And when they die, their corpses [decay and] become soil again. After they die, they can no longer do the things that they planned to do.
Wenn ihm der Odem ausgeht, kehrt er wiederum zur Erde. Aus ist's an jenem Tag mit seinen Plänen. -
5 But those whose helper is the God whom Jacob [worshiped] are happy. The one whom they confidently expect [to help them] is Yahweh, their God.
Wohl dem, des Helfer Jakobs Gott, und dessen Hoffnung ruht auf seinem Herrn und Gott,
6 He is the one who created heaven and the earth and the oceans and all [the creatures] that are in them. He always does what he has promised to do.
der Himmel, Erde, Meer und alles, was darin, erschaffen! Er, der zu aller Zeit Gerechte,
7 He decides matters fairly for those who are (treated unfairly/oppressed), and he provides food for those who are hungry. He frees those who are in prison.
verschafft den Unterdrückten Recht, gibt Brot den Hungernden. - Der Herr löst der Gefang'nen Not.
8 Yahweh enables those who are blind to see again. He lifts up those who have fallen down. He loves righteous [people].
Der Herr gibt Blinden Licht; der Herr hebt die Gebeugten auf; die Frommen liebt der Herr.
9 Yahweh takes care of those from other countries who live in our land, and he helps widows and orphans. But he gets rid of wicked [people].
Der Herr beschützt die Fremdlinge, erhält die Waisen und die Witwen; die Frevler aber läßt er irregehen.
10 Yahweh will [continue to] be our king forever; you people of Israel, your God will rule forever! Praise Yahweh!
Der Herr wird ewig König sein, dein Gott durch alle Zeiten, Sion. Alleluja!
