Psalms 146
1 Praise Yahweh! With my whole inner being I will praise Yahweh.
Alléluia! Mon âme, loue l'Éternel!
2 I will praise Yahweh as long as I am alive; I will sing to praise my God for [the rest of] my life.
Je louerai l'Éternel, tant que je vivrai; je chanterai mon Dieu, tant que je serai.
3 [You people], do not trust in your leaders; do not trust humans because they cannot save/rescue you [from your difficulties/problems].
Ne vous confiez pas dans les princes, dans les enfants des hommes, qui ne peuvent secourir!
4 And when they die, their corpses [decay and] become soil again. After they die, they can no longer do the things that they planned to do.
Leur souffle s'exhale, ils rentrent dans leur poudre: ce jour-là, c'en est fait de leurs plans.
5 But those whose helper is the God whom Jacob [worshiped] are happy. The one whom they confidently expect [to help them] is Yahweh, their God.
Heureux celui à qui le Dieu de Jacob est en aide, et dont l'espoir repose sur l'Éternel son Dieu!
6 He is the one who created heaven and the earth and the oceans and all [the creatures] that are in them. He always does what he has promised to do.
Il a fait les Cieux et la terre, la mer et tout ce qu'elle contient; Il garde fidélité éternellement;
7 He decides matters fairly for those who are (treated unfairly/oppressed), and he provides food for those who are hungry. He frees those who are in prison.
Il rend justice aux opprimés, donne du pain à ceux qui ont faim; l'Éternel délivre les captifs.
8 Yahweh enables those who are blind to see again. He lifts up those who have fallen down. He loves righteous [people].
L'Éternel ouvre les yeux aux aveugles, l'Éternel relève ceux qui sont affaissés; l'Éternel aime les justes.
9 Yahweh takes care of those from other countries who live in our land, and he helps widows and orphans. But he gets rid of wicked [people].
L'Éternel prend les étrangers sous sa garde; Il restaure la veuve et l'orphelin; mais Il fait dévier la voie de l'impie.
10 Yahweh will [continue to] be our king forever; you people of Israel, your God will rule forever! Praise Yahweh!
L'Éternel règne éternellement. Ton Dieu, ô Sion, subsiste dans tous les âges. Alléluia!
