Psalms 142

1 Yahweh, I cry out to you; I plead [with you to help me].

੧ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਮਸ਼ਕੀਲ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਗੁਫ਼ਾ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,

2 I am bringing to you [all] my problems; I am telling you [all] my troubles/difficulties.

੨ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਫ਼ਰਿਆਦ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

3 When I am very discouraged, you know what I should do. Wherever I walk, [it is as though] my enemies have hidden traps for me [to fall into].

੩ਜਦ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਢਾਲ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਚਾਲ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ। ਜਿਸ ਰਾਹ ਮੈਂ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਫਾਹੀ ਲਾਈ ਹੈ।

4 I look around, but there is no one who pays attention to me, no one who will protect me, no one who cares about [what happens to] me.

੪ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਵੇਖ, ਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਿਆਣੂ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਰਹੀ, ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਛਣ-ਗਿੱਛਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ!

5 [So] Yahweh, I cry out to you [to help me]; you are the one who protects me; and you are all that I need while I am alive.

੫ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਾ, ਮੈਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਹੈਂ, ਜੀਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਭਾਗ।

6 Listen to me while I cry out to you [for help], because I am very distressed. Rescue/Save me from those who are pursuing me, because they are very strong, with the result that I cannot [escape from them].

੬ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਲਾਉਣ ਉੱਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੁਡਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਓਹ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਹਨ!

7 Free/Rescue me from my troubles/difficulties [MET] in order that I may thank you. If you do that, when I am with godly/righteous [people], [I will praise you] for having been very good to me.

੭ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ, ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਾਂ, ਧਰਮੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਣ ਘੇਰਨਗੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਪਕਾਰ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ!।
