Psalms 142

1 Yahweh, I cry out to you; I plead [with you to help me].

Maskîl de David, lorsqu’il se tint dans la caverne. Prière. A pleine voix je crie vers l’Eternel, à pleine voix je supplie le Seigneur;

2 I am bringing to you [all] my problems; I am telling you [all] my troubles/difficulties.

je répands devant lui ma plainte, je lui fais part de ma détresse.

3 When I am very discouraged, you know what I should do. Wherever I walk, [it is as though] my enemies have hidden traps for me [to fall into].

Quand je sens mon âme défaillir en moi, tu connais bien, toi, mon chemin; la route où je m’avance, on l’a semée d’embûches contre moi.

4 I look around, but there is no one who pays attention to me, no one who will protect me, no one who cares about [what happens to] me.

Regarde à droite et vois, personne ne veut me connaître, tout refuge me fait défaut, nul ne se soucie de ma personne.

5 [So] Yahweh, I cry out to you [to help me]; you are the one who protects me; and you are all that I need while I am alive.

Ainsi je crie vers toi, ô Eternel, je dis: "C’Est toi qui es mon abri, mon lot sur la terre des vivants!"

6 Listen to me while I cry out to you [for help], because I am very distressed. Rescue/Save me from those who are pursuing me, because they are very strong, with the result that I cannot [escape from them].

Sois attentif à ma supplication, car je suis extrêmement abaissé; sauve-moi de mes persécuteurs, car ils sont plus puissants que moi.

7 Free/Rescue me from my troubles/difficulties [MET] in order that I may thank you. If you do that, when I am with godly/righteous [people], [I will praise you] for having been very good to me.

Fais-moi sortir de ma geôle, pour que je puisse rendre hommage à ton nom. Les justes feront cercle autour de moi, si tu daignes me combler de tes bienfaits.
