Psalms 136
1 Thank Yahweh, because he does good things [for us]; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
Bongani iNkosi ngoba ilungile, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini.
2 Thank God, the one who is greater than all other gods; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
Bongani uNkulunkulu wabonkulunkulu, ngoba isihawu sakhe simi kuze kube nininini.
3 Thank the Lord who is greater than all other lords/rulers; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
Bongani iNkosi yamakhosi, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini.
4 He is the only one who performs great miracles; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
Yona yodwa eyenza izimangaliso ezinkulu, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini;
5 He is the one who by being very wise created the heavens; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
eyenza amazulu ngokuhlakanipha, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini;
6 He is the one who caused the ground to rise up above the deep waters; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
eyendlala umhlaba phezu kwamanzi, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini;
7 He is the one who created great lights [in the sky]; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
eyenza izikhanyiso ezinkulu, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini;
8 He created the sun to shine in the daytime; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
ilanga ukubusa emini, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini;
9 He created the moon and stars to shine during the nighttime; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
inyanga lezinkanyezi ukubusa ebusuku, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini.
10 He is the one who killed the firstborn [males] in Egypt; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
Yona eyatshaya amaGibhithe kumazibulo awo, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini;
11 He led the Israeli people out of Egypt; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
yakhupha uIsrayeli phakathi kwabo, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini;
12 With his (strong hand/great power) he led them out; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
ngesandla esilamandla langengalo eyeluliweyo, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini.
13 He is the one who caused the Red Sea to divide; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
Yona eyehlukanisa uLwandle oluBomvu lwaba yiziqamu, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini;
14 He enabled the Israeli people to walk through it [on dry land]; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
yenza uIsrayeli adabule phakathi kwalo, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini;
15 But he caused the king of Egypt and his army to drown in it; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
kodwa yathintithela uFaro lebutho lakhe oLwandle oluBomvu, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini.
16 He is the one who led his people [safely through the desert]; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
Yona eyakhokhela abantu bayo enkangala, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini.
17 He killed powerful kings; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
Yona eyatshaya amakhosi amakhulu, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini;
18 He killed kings who were famous; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
yabulala amakhosi adumileyo, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini;
19 He killed Sihon, the king of the Amor people-group; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
uSihoni inkosi yamaAmori, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini;
20 He killed Og, the king of Bashan [region]; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
loOgi inkosi yeBashani, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini;
21 He gave their lands to us, his people; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
yanika ilizwe labo laba yilifa, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini;
22 He gave those lands to us people of Israel, who serve him; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
ilifa kuIsrayeli inceku yayo, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini.
23 He is the one who did not forget about us when we were defeated [by our enemies]; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
Eyasikhumbula ebuphansini bethu, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini;
24 He rescued us from our enemies; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
yasophula ezitheni zethu, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini.
25 He is the one who gives food to all living creatures; his faithful love [for us] endures forever.
Enika yonke inyama ukudla, ngoba isihawu sayo simi kuze kube nininini.
26 [So] thank God, [who lives in] heaven, [for all those things], because his faithful love [for us] endures forever!
