Psalms 132
1 Yahweh, do not forget [King] David and all the hardships/troubles he endured!
੧ਯਾਤਰਾ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ,
2 He made a solemn promise to you, the mighty God whom [our ancestor] Jacob [worshiped].
੨ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸਹੁੰ ਖਾਧੀ, ਅਤੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਲਈ ਸੁੱਖਣਾ ਸੁੱਖੀ,
3 He said, “I will not go home, I will not [rest] on my bed,
੩ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰੇਲੂ ਤੰਬੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗਾ, ਨਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਲੰਘ ਦੇ ਵਿਛਾਉਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਂਗਾ,
4 I will not sleep at all
੪ਨਾ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੀਂਦ, ਨਾ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪਲਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਊਂਘ ਆਉਣ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ,
5 until I build a place for Yahweh, a home for the mighty God whom Jacob [worshiped].”
੫ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਨਾ ਲੱਭਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਡੇਰਾ!
6 In Bethlehem we heard news about the sacred chest. We [went and] found it in the fields of Jearim [city, and we took it to Jerusalem].
੬ਵੇਖ, ਅਸੀਂ ਅਫਰਾਥਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਸੁਣੀ, ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਯਾਅਰ ਦੀ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਭ ਪਿਆ।
7 [Later we said], “Let’s go to the temple of Yahweh [in Jerusalem]; let’s worship [there] in front of the throne [where he sits].”
੭ਅਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਈਏ, ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੌਂਕੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕੀਏ।
8 Yahweh, come to the place where you live eternally, to the place where your sacred chest is, to that place that shows that you are very powerful.
੮ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਉੱਠ, ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਰਾਮ ਸਥਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ, ਤੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਵੀ!
9 I want/desire that the righteous behavior of your priests [will always be evident], [just like the beautiful] robes that they wear [MET], and that your people will [always] shout joyfully.
੯ਤੇਰੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਲਿਬਾਸ ਪਾਉਣ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜੈਕਾਰੇ ਗਜਾਉਣ,
10 You chose David to serve you [as king of Israel]; do not reject/abandon him!
੧੦ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ, ਆਪਣੇ ਮਸਹ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾ ਮੋੜ!
11 Yahweh, you made a solemn promise to David, a promise that you will not break. You said, “I will cause your descendants to rule [MTY] as kings like you.
੧੧ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨਾਲ ਸੱਚੀ ਸਹੁੰ ਖਾਧੀ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਫਿਰੇਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਢਿੱਡ ਦੇ ਫਲ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਾਜ ਗੱਦੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਠਾਵਾਂਗਾ,
12 If they keep my agreement with them and obey [all] the commands that I will give them, the line of kings descended from you will never end.”
੧੨ਜੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਅੰਸ ਮੇਰੇ ਨੇਮ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਾਖੀ ਦੀ, ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ ਵੀ ਜੁੱਗੋ-ਜੁੱਗ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਾਜ ਗੱਦੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੈਠੇਗੀ।
13 Yahweh has chosen Jerusalem; he has wanted to make that city his home;
੧੩ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਤਾਂ ਸੀਯੋਨ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣਿਆ, ਉਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਸੇਬੇ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਕੀਤਾ।
14 he said, “This is the city where I will live forever [DOU]; this is the place where I wanted to stay.
੧੪ਇਹ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਵਿਸ਼ਰਾਮ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਏਥੇ ਵੱਸਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਜੋ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
15 I will give to the people of Jerusalem all that they need; I will give [enough] food [even] to satisfy the poor people there.
੧੫ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਰਿਜ਼ਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੰਗਾਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਰਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
16 I will cause the priests [to behave in a manner worthy of] being ones whom I have saved; [that will be as evident as the beautiful] robes that they wear [MET]; and all my people who live there will shout joyfully.
੧੬ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਲਿਬਾਸ ਪੁਆਵਾਂਗਾ, ਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸੰਤ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਜੈਕਾਰੇ ਗਜਾਉਣਗੇ!
17 There [in Jerusalem] I will cause one of David’s descendants [MET] to become a great king; he also will be my chosen king, and he will be [like a bright] lamp [MET] [that shines continually].
੧੭ਉੱਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਸਿੰਗ ਫੁਟਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਸਹ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਦੀਵਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
18 I will [defeat his] enemies and cause them to be very ashamed/disgraced; but the crown that my king wears will [always] shine.”
੧੮ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ਰਮ ਦਾ ਲਿਬਾਸ ਪੁਆਵਾਂਗਾ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਚਮਕੇਗਾ।
