< Psalms 132 >
1 Yahweh, do not forget [King] David and all the hardships/troubles he endured!
Yon chan pou monte vè tanp lan. Sonje, SENYÈ, pou koz David, ak tout soufrans li an,
2 He made a solemn promise to you, the mighty God whom [our ancestor] Jacob [worshiped].
jan li te sèmante a SENYÈ a, e te fè ve a Toupwisan a Jacob la:
3 He said, “I will not go home, I will not [rest] on my bed,
Anverite, mwen p ap antre lakay mwen, ni kouche sou kabann mwen;
4 I will not sleep at all
mwen p ap kite zye m dòmi, ni pòpyè zye m fèmen,
5 until I build a place for Yahweh, a home for the mighty God whom Jacob [worshiped].”
jiskaske m jwenn yon kote pou SENYÈ a, yon abitasyon pou Toupwisan a Jacob la.
6 In Bethlehem we heard news about the sacred chest. We [went and] found it in the fields of Jearim [city, and we took it to Jerusalem].
Men koute, nou te tande koze sa a nan Éphrata, nou te twouve l nan plèn Jaar a.
7 [Later we said], “Let’s go to the temple of Yahweh [in Jerusalem]; let’s worship [there] in front of the throne [where he sits].”
Annou antre nan abitasyon Li a. Annou fè adorasyon kote machpye twòn Li an ye a.
8 Yahweh, come to the place where you live eternally, to the place where your sacred chest is, to that place that shows that you are very powerful.
Leve, O SENYÈ, vini nan plas repo Ou a, Ou menm avèk lach fòs Ou.
9 I want/desire that the righteous behavior of your priests [will always be evident], [just like the beautiful] robes that they wear [MET], and that your people will [always] shout joyfully.
Kite prèt Ou yo abiye nan ladwati, e kite fidèl Ou yo chante ak lajwa.
10 You chose David to serve you [as king of Israel]; do not reject/abandon him!
Pou koz David, sèvitè Ou a, pa vire fas kont onksyone Ou a.
11 Yahweh, you made a solemn promise to David, a promise that you will not break. You said, “I will cause your descendants to rule [MTY] as kings like you.
SENYÈ a te sèmante a David anverite. Sou (sila) Li p ap fè bak: “Nan fwi a kò Ou, mwen va etabli sou twòn Ou.
12 If they keep my agreement with them and obey [all] the commands that I will give them, the line of kings descended from you will never end.”
Si fis ou yo kenbe akò Mwen ak temwayaj ke Mwen va enstwi yo, fis pa yo tou va chita sou twòn Ou an jis pou tout tan.”
13 Yahweh has chosen Jerusalem; he has wanted to make that city his home;
Paske SENYÈ a te chwazi Sion. Li te vle l pou abitasyon Li.
14 he said, “This is the city where I will live forever [DOU]; this is the place where I wanted to stay.
“Sa se plas repo Mwen, jis pou tout tan. Isit la Mwen va rete, paske Mwen te vle sa.
15 I will give to the people of Jerusalem all that they need; I will give [enough] food [even] to satisfy the poor people there.
Mwen va beni pwovizyon li ak abondans. Mwen va satisfè malere li yo ak pen.
16 I will cause the priests [to behave in a manner worthy of] being ones whom I have saved; [that will be as evident as the beautiful] robes that they wear [MET]; and all my people who live there will shout joyfully.
Anplis, Mwen va abiye prèt li yo ak Sali, e fidèl li yo va chante byen fò ak lajwa.
17 There [in Jerusalem] I will cause one of David’s descendants [MET] to become a great king; he also will be my chosen king, and he will be [like a bright] lamp [MET] [that shines continually].
La Mwen va koze kòn a David la boujonnen pou l parèt. Mwen te prepare yon lanp pou onksyone pa M nan.
18 I will [defeat his] enemies and cause them to be very ashamed/disgraced; but the crown that my king wears will [always] shine.”
Lènmi li yo, Mwen va abiye yo ak wont. Men sou li menm, kouwòn li an va briye.”
