Psalms 129

1 [I say that] my enemies have (afflicted/caused trouble for) me ever since I was young. [Now I ask you, my fellow] Israelis, to repeat those same words:

౧యాత్రల కీర్తన ఇశ్రాయేలు ఇలా చెప్పాలి. నా యవ్వన ప్రాయం నుంచి శత్రువులు నాపై దాడి చేశారు.

2 “Our enemies have afflicted us since our nation began, but they have not defeated us!

౨నా బాల్యం నుండి నాపై యుద్ధం చేస్తూ వచ్చారు. అయినా వాళ్ళు నన్ను ఓడించలేకపోయారు.

3 [Our enemies struck us with whips] that cut into our backs [MET] like a [farmer uses a] plow to cut deep furrows into the ground.”

౩భూమిని దున్నినట్టు వాళ్ళు నా వీపును దున్నారు. నాకు నాగటి చాళ్ళవంటి గాయాలు చేశారు.

4 [But] Yahweh is righteous, and he has freed [me] from being a slave [MTY] of wicked [people].

౪యెహోవా న్యాయవంతుడు. దుర్మార్గుల తాళ్ళను ఆయన తెంపివేశాడు.

5 I wish/hope that all those who hate Jerusalem/Israel will be ashamed because of being defeated.

౫సీయోనును ద్వేషించే వాళ్ళంతా సిగ్గుపడి, వెనుకడుగు వేస్తారు గాక.

6 I hope/wish that they will be [of no value], like grass that grows on the roofs of houses that dries up and does not grow tall;

౬వాళ్ళు ఇంటికప్పుపై మొలకెత్తే గడ్డిమొక్కలవలె ఉంటారు గాక. అవి ఎదిగీ ఎదగక ముందే వాడిపోతాయి.

7 [as a result] no one [cuts it and] puts it in bundles and carries it away.

౭కోసేవాడి గుప్పిలిలోకైనా ఆ గడ్డి చాలదు. పనలు కట్టేవాడు దానితో తన ఒడిని నింపుకోడానికి అది చాలదు.

8 People who pass by [and see men harvesting grain usually greet them by saying to them], “We wish/hope that Yahweh will bless you!” But this will not happen [to those who hate Israel]. We, acting as Yahweh’s representatives, bless you [Israelis.]

౮ఆ దారిన పోయే వాళ్ళు, యెహోవా దీవెన మీపై ఉండు గాక, యెహోవా నామంలో మిమ్మల్ని దీవిస్తున్నాము అనరు గాక.
