Psalms 125

1 Those/We who trust in Yahweh are [as secure/steadfast] [SIM] as Zion Hill, which cannot be shaken and can never be moved.

Ein song til høgtidsferderne. Dei som lit på Herren, er som Sionsfjellet, som ikkje vert rikka, men æveleg stend fast.

2 Like the hills that surround Jerusalem [protect the city], Yahweh protects [us], his people, and he will protect us forever.

Jerusalem - fjell er kringum det, og Herren er ikring sitt folk frå no og i all æva.

3 Wicked people [MTY] should not [be allowed to] rule over the land where righteous [people] live. If they did that, those righteous [people] might [(be encouraged to imitate them and]) do things that are wrong.

For ikkje skal ugudleg kongsstav kvila på arvluten åt dei rettferdige, at ikkje dei rettferdige skal retta ut til urett sine hender.

4 Yahweh, do good things to those who do good things to others and to those who sincerely obey your commands [IDM].

Gjer godt, Herre, mot dei gode, og imot deim som hev eit ærlegt hjarta!

5 But when you punish the wicked people [who are not Israelis], also punish those [Israelis] who turn away from walking on the good roads [MET] that you have shown them! I wish that things will go well for [people in] Israel!

Men deim som vender seg burt til sine krokute vegar, skal Herren lata fara med illgjerningsmenner. Fred vere yver Israel!
