Psalms 125

1 Those/We who trust in Yahweh are [as secure/steadfast] [SIM] as Zion Hill, which cannot be shaken and can never be moved.

En sang ved festreisene. De som setter sin lit til Herren, er som Sions berg, som ikke rokkes, men står evindelig.

2 Like the hills that surround Jerusalem [protect the city], Yahweh protects [us], his people, and he will protect us forever.

Rundt omkring Jerusalem er det fjell, og Herren omhegner sitt folk fra nu av og inntil evig tid.

3 Wicked people [MTY] should not [be allowed to] rule over the land where righteous [people] live. If they did that, those righteous [people] might [(be encouraged to imitate them and]) do things that are wrong.

For ugudelighetens kongestav skal ikke hvile på de rettferdiges arvelodd, forat ikke de rettferdige skal utstrekke sine hender efter urettferdighet.

4 Yahweh, do good things to those who do good things to others and to those who sincerely obey your commands [IDM].

Gjør godt, Herre, mot de gode, mot dem som er opriktige i sine hjerter!

5 But when you punish the wicked people [who are not Israelis], also punish those [Israelis] who turn away from walking on the good roads [MET] that you have shown them! I wish that things will go well for [people in] Israel!

Men dem som bøier av til sine krokete veier, skal Herren la fare sammen med dem som gjør urett. Fred være over Israel!
