Psalms 125

1 Those/We who trust in Yahweh are [as secure/steadfast] [SIM] as Zion Hill, which cannot be shaken and can never be moved.

[Ein Stufenlied.] Die auf Jehova vertrauen, sind gleich dem Berge Zion, der nicht wankt, der ewiglich bleibt.

2 Like the hills that surround Jerusalem [protect the city], Yahweh protects [us], his people, and he will protect us forever.

Jerusalem-Berge sind rings um sie her: so ist Jehova rings um sein Volk, von nun an bis in Ewigkeit.

3 Wicked people [MTY] should not [be allowed to] rule over the land where righteous [people] live. If they did that, those righteous [people] might [(be encouraged to imitate them and]) do things that are wrong.

Denn die Rute [O. das Scepter] der Gesetzlosigkeit wird auf dem Lose der Gerechten nicht ruhen, damit die Gerechten ihre Hände nicht ausstrecken nach Unrecht.

4 Yahweh, do good things to those who do good things to others and to those who sincerely obey your commands [IDM].

Tue Gutes, Jehova, den Guten und denen, die aufrichtig sind in ihren Herzen!

5 But when you punish the wicked people [who are not Israelis], also punish those [Israelis] who turn away from walking on the good roads [MET] that you have shown them! I wish that things will go well for [people in] Israel!

Die aber auf ihre krummen Wege abbiegen, die wird Jehova dahinfahren lassen [O. die lasse Jehova dahinfahren] mit denen, welche Frevel tun. Wohlfahrt über Israel!
