Psalms 124

1 You Israeli [people], [answer this question]: What [would have happened to us] if Yahweh had not been (helping/fighting for) us?

૧ચઢવાનું ગીત; દાઉદનું. હવે ઇઝરાયલ એમ કહો, “જો યહોવાહ અમારા પક્ષમાં ન હોત,”

2 When [our enemies] attacked us, if Yahweh had not been fighting for us,

૨જ્યારે માણસો અમારા પર ચઢી આવ્યા ત્યારે, “જો યહોવાહ અમારા પક્ષમાં ન હોત,

3 we would have all been killed [IDM] because they were very angry with us!

૩તો તેઓનો ક્રોધ અમારા ઉપર સળગી ઊઠતાં તેઓ અમને જીવતા જ ગળી જાત.

4 [They would have been like] [MET] a flood that swept/carried us away; [it would have been as though] the water would have covered us,

૪પાણીની રેલો અમને તાણી જાત, પાણીએ અમને ડુબાડી દીધા હોત.

5 and we would [all] have drowned in the flood that was (raging/flowing very fast).

૫તે અભિમાની માણસોએ અમને પાણીમાં ડુબાડી દીધા હોત.”

6 [But] praise Yahweh, because he has not allowed our [enemies to destroy us] [like wild animals] [MET] tear apart [the creatures that they capture].

૬યહોવાહની સ્તુતિ થાઓ, જેમણે તેઓના દાંતનો શિકાર થવાને અમને સોંપ્યા નહિ.

7 We have escaped [from our enemies] like a bird escapes from the trap that hunters have set; [it is as though] the trap [that our enemies set for us] was broken and we have escaped from it!

૭જેમ પારધીની જાળમાંથી પક્ષી છટકી જાય, તેમ અમારા જીવ બચી ગયા છે; જાળ તૂટી ગઈ છે અને અમે બચી ગયા છીએ.

8 Yahweh is the one who helps us [MTY]; he is the one who made heaven and the earth.

૮આકાશ અને પૃથ્વીના સર્જનહાર, યહોવાહ અમારા મદદગાર છે.
