Psalms 124

1 You Israeli [people], [answer this question]: What [would have happened to us] if Yahweh had not been (helping/fighting for) us?

Kanto de suprenirado. De David. Se la Eternulo ne estus kun ni, Diru nun Izrael,

2 When [our enemies] attacked us, if Yahweh had not been fighting for us,

Se la Eternulo ne estus kun ni, Kiam homoj leviĝis kontraŭ ni:

3 we would have all been killed [IDM] because they were very angry with us!

Tiam ili englutus nin vivajn, Kiam ekflamis kontraŭ ni ilia kolero;

4 [They would have been like] [MET] a flood that swept/carried us away; [it would have been as though] the water would have covered us,

Tiam dronigus nin akvo, torento kovrus nian animon;

5 and we would [all] have drowned in the flood that was (raging/flowing very fast).

Tiam kovrus nian animon pereiga akvo.

6 [But] praise Yahweh, because he has not allowed our [enemies to destroy us] [like wild animals] [MET] tear apart [the creatures that they capture].

Benata estu la Eternulo, Kiu ne fordonis nin kiel rabakiron al iliaj dentoj.

7 We have escaped [from our enemies] like a bird escapes from the trap that hunters have set; [it is as though] the trap [that our enemies set for us] was broken and we have escaped from it!

Nia animo liberiĝis, kiel birdo el la reto de kaptistoj; La reto disŝiriĝis, kaj ni liberiĝis.

8 Yahweh is the one who helps us [MTY]; he is the one who made heaven and the earth.

Nia helpo estas en la nomo de la Eternulo, Kiu kreis la ĉielon kaj la teron.
