Psalms 123

1 Yahweh, I look up toward you, up to heaven, from where you rule.

A te levo i miei occhi, a te che abiti nei cieli. Canto delle ascensioni. Di Davide.

2 Like servants ask [IDM] their masters [for what they need] and like maids ask t their mistresses [for what they need], we ask you, Yahweh our God, [for what we need], and we ask you to be merciful to us.

Ecco, come gli occhi dei servi alla mano dei loro padroni; come gli occhi della schiava, alla mano della sua padrona, così i nostri occhi sono rivolti al Signore nostro Dio, finché abbia pietà di noi.

3 Yahweh, be very merciful [DOU] to us because [our enemies] have acted very contemptuously toward us.

Pietà di noi, Signore, pietà di noi, gia troppo ci hanno colmato di scherni,

4 Rich people have made fun of us for a long time, and proud [people] who have (oppressed/acted cruelly toward) us have acted toward us as though we were worthless.

noi siamo troppo sazi degli scherni dei gaudenti, del disprezzo dei superbi.
