Psalms 121

1 [When we travel toward Jerusalem], I look up toward the hills [and I ask myself], “Who will help me?”

Pesem preizvrstna. Oči svoje naj bi povzdignil na one gore? Od kod naj mi pride pomoč?

2 [And my answer is] that Yahweh is the one who helps me; he is the one who made heaven and the earth.

Pomoč moja bodi od Gospoda, kateri je naredil nebesa in zemljo.

3 He will not allow us to fall/stumble; God, who protects us, will not fall asleep.

Naj ne dopusti, da omahne noga tvoja, varuh tvoj naj ne spí.

4 The one who protects us Israeli people never gets sleepy, nor does he sleep [LIT].

Glej, ne dremlje in ne spí varuh Izraelov.

5 Yahweh watches over us; he is like the shade [MET] [that protects us from the sun].

Gospod varuh tvoj, Gospod je senca tvoja na desni roki tvoji.

6 [He will not allow] the sun to harm us during the day, and [he will not allow] the moon to harm us during the night.

Podnevi te ne bode zadevalo solnce, ali mesec ponoči.

7 Yahweh will protect us from being harmed in any manner; he will keep us safe.

Gospod te bode varoval vsega zlega, varoval bode dušo tvojo.

8 He will protect us from the time that we leave [our houses in the morning] until we return [in the evening]; he will protect us now, and he will protect us forever.

Gospod bode varoval hojo tvojo, od tega časa do vekomaj.
