Psalms 121

1 [When we travel toward Jerusalem], I look up toward the hills [and I ask myself], “Who will help me?”

Levantarei os meus olhos para os montes, de onde vem a minha salvação.

2 [And my answer is] that Yahweh is the one who helps me; he is the one who made heaven and the earth.

O meu socorro vem do Senhor, que fez o céu e a terra.

3 He will not allow us to fall/stumble; God, who protects us, will not fall asleep.

Não deixará vacilar o teu pé: aquele que te guarda não tosquenejará.

4 The one who protects us Israeli people never gets sleepy, nor does he sleep [LIT].

Eis que não tosquenejará nem dormirá o guarda de Israel.

5 Yahweh watches over us; he is like the shade [MET] [that protects us from the sun].

O Senhor é quem te guarda: o Senhor é a tua sombra à tua direita.

6 [He will not allow] the sun to harm us during the day, and [he will not allow] the moon to harm us during the night.

O sol não te molestará de dia nem a lua de noite.

7 Yahweh will protect us from being harmed in any manner; he will keep us safe.

O Senhor te guardará de todo o mal: guardará a tua alma.

8 He will protect us from the time that we leave [our houses in the morning] until we return [in the evening]; he will protect us now, and he will protect us forever.

O Senhor guardará a tua entrada e a tua saída, desde agora e para sempre.
