Psalms 121

1 [When we travel toward Jerusalem], I look up toward the hills [and I ask myself], “Who will help me?”

سرود زائران به هنگام بالا رفتن به اورشلیم. چشمان خود را به کوهها دوخته‌ام و در انتظار کمک هستم.

2 [And my answer is] that Yahweh is the one who helps me; he is the one who made heaven and the earth.

کمک من از جانب خداوند می‌آید که آسمان و زمین را آفرید.

3 He will not allow us to fall/stumble; God, who protects us, will not fall asleep.

خداوند نخواهد گذاشت پایم بلغزد و بیفتم. او که از من حمایت می‌کند، هرگز نمی‌خوابد.

4 The one who protects us Israeli people never gets sleepy, nor does he sleep [LIT].

او که از اسرائیل محافظت می‌کند، چشمانش به خواب نمی‌رود.

5 Yahweh watches over us; he is like the shade [MET] [that protects us from the sun].

خداوند خودش از تو مراقبت می‌نماید! او در کنارت است تا از تو حمایت کند.

6 [He will not allow] the sun to harm us during the day, and [he will not allow] the moon to harm us during the night.

آفتاب در روز به تو آسیب نخواهد رسانید و نه مهتاب در شب.

7 Yahweh will protect us from being harmed in any manner; he will keep us safe.

خداوند، تو را از هر بدی دور نگاه می‌دارد و جانت را حفظ می‌کند.

8 He will protect us from the time that we leave [our houses in the morning] until we return [in the evening]; he will protect us now, and he will protect us forever.

خداوند، رفت و آمد تو را زیر نظر دارد و از تو مراقبت می‌نماید، از حال تا ابد.
