Psalms 120

1 When I had troubles, I called out to Yahweh and he answered me.

Hodočasnička pjesma Kad bijah u nevolji, Jahvi zavapih i on me usliša.

2 [I prayed], “Yahweh, rescue/save me from people [SYN, MTY] who lie to me and [try to] deceive me!”

Jahve, izbavi dušu moju od usana prijevarnih, od zlobna jezika!

3 You people who lie to me, [I will tell you] [RHQ] what [God] will do to you and what he will do to punish you.

Kojim zlom da te prokunem, zlobni jeziče?

4 He will shoot sharp arrows at you like soldiers do, and he will [burn you with] red-hot coals from [the wood of] a broom tree.

Strelicama oštrim iz ratničke ruke i ugljevljem žarkim.

5 It is terrible for me, living among cruel/savage [DOU] people [like those who live] in Meshech [region] and Kedar [region].

Jao meni što mi je boraviti u Mešeku i stanovati u šatorima kedarskim!

6 I have lived for a long time among people who hate [to live with others] peacefully.

Predugo mi duša mora živjeti s mrziteljima mira.

7 Every time I talk about living together peacefully, they talk about starting a war.

Kada o miru govorim, oni sile na rat.
