< Psalms 12 >

1 Yahweh, help us! [It seems that] people who are loyal to you have all vanished.
Ho an’ ny mpiventy hira. Al-hasheminith. Salamo nataon’ i Davida. Vonjeo, Jehovah ô, fa efa lany ny tsara fanahy; eny, tsy misy mahatoky intsony eo amin’ ny zanak’ olombelona.
2 Everyone tells lies to other people; they deceive others by (flattering them/saying good things about them that they know are not true).
Samy milaza lainga amin’ ny namany amin’ ny molotra mandrobo izy; fo mamorom-pitaka no itenenany.
3 Yahweh, we wish that you would cut off their tongues so that they cannot continue to boast.
Holevonin’ i Jehovah anie ny molotra mandrobo rehetra sy ny lela miteny avonavona,
4 They say, “By telling lies we will get what we want; we control what we say [MTY], so no one can tell us what we should not do!”
Izay manao hoe: hampahery anay ny lelanay; miandany aminay ny molotray; iza no tomponay?
5 But Yahweh replies, “I have seen the violent things that they have done to helpless people; and I have heard those people groaning, so I will arise and rescue the people who are wanting me to help them.”
Noho ny fampahoriana ny ory sy ny fisentoan’ ny malahelo, dia hitsangana Aho ankehitriny, hoy Jehovah; hovonjeko izay vingavingain’ ny sasany.
6 Yahweh, you always do what you have promised to do; what you have promised is [as precious and pure as] silver that has been heated seven times in a furnace [to get rid of all the] impure material.
Ny tenin’ i Jehovah dia teny madio, tahaka ny volafotsy voarendrika tao anatin’ ny memy ka mitsoriaka amin’ ny tany eny, voadio impito.
7 Wicked people strut around [proudly], and people praise them for doing vile/wicked deeds, but Yahweh, [we know that] you will protect/rescue us from those wicked people.
Hianao, Jehovah ô, no hiaro azy, Hianao no hiambina azy mandrakizay tsy ho azon’ ity taranaka ity.
8
Raha avy izay isandratan’ ny tsinontsinona eo amin’ ny zanak’ olombelona, dia mieboebo ombieniombieny ny ratsy fanahy. Fitarainana ataon’ izay azom-pahoriana mafy loatra.
