< Psalms 116 >
1 I love Yahweh, because he hears me when I cry for him to help me.
Mwen renmen SENYÈ a, paske Li tande vwa m, avèk siplikasyon mwen yo.
2 He listens to me, so I will call out to him all during my life.
Akoz Li te panche zòrèy Li bò kote m, pou sa, mwen va rele non Li pandan tout tan ke m viv.
3 Everything around me [MET] caused me to think that I would die; I was very afraid that I would [die and go to] the place where dead people are. I was very distressed/worried and afraid. (Sheol )
Kòd lanmò yo te antoure m, e laperèz fòs lanmò te vini sou mwen. Mwen te jwenn twoub ak gwo tristès. (Sheol )
4 [But] then I called out to Yahweh, saying, “Yahweh, I plead with you to save/rescue me!”
Alò, mwen te rele non SENYÈ a. O SENYÈ, mwen sipliye Ou, sove lavi mwen!
5 Yahweh is kind and does what is right; he is our God, and he acts mercifully [to us].
Ranpli ak gras ak ladwati, se SENYÈ a. Wi, Bondye nou an plen ak mizerikòd.
6 He protects those who (are helpless/cannot defend themselves); and when I thought that I would die, he saved me.
SENYÈ a toujou pwoteje moun senp yo. Mwen te abese mwen nèt e Li te sove mwen.
7 I must encourage/tell myself to (have inner peace/not worry any more), because Yahweh has done very good things for me.
Reprann repo ou, O nanm mwen, paske Bondye te aji nan bonte Li avèk ou.
8 Yahweh has saved me [SYN] from dying, and has kept/protected me from [troubles that would cause me to] cry. He has kept/protected me from stumbling.
Paske Ou te delivre nanm mwen devan lanmò, zye m pou m pa kriye, pye m pou m pa glise tonbe.
9 [So here] on the earth, where people are still alive, I live knowing that Yahweh is [directing] me.
Mwen va mache devan SENYÈ a nan peyi moun vivan an.
10 I continued to believe/trust [in Yahweh], even when I said, “I am greatly afflicted/troubled.”
Mwen te kwè, pou sa mwen te di: “Mwen te vrèman aflije.”
11 [Even] when I was distressed/worried and said, “I cannot trust anyone,” [I continued to trust in Yahweh].
Mwen te di nan mitan gwo twoub mwen yo: “Tout moun se mantè”.
12 So now [I will tell you] [RHQ] what I will offer to Yahweh, because of all the good things that he has done for me.
Kisa mwen kapab bay a SENYÈ a Pou tout bonte Li anvè mwen?
13 I will offer to him a cup [of wine] to thank him for saving/rescuing me.
Mwen va leve wo koup sali a, e rele non SENYÈ a.
14 When I am together with many [HYP] people who belong to Yahweh, I will give to him the offerings that I solemnly promised to give to him.
Mwen va peye tout ve mwen yo anvè SENYÈ a. Wi, nan prezans tout pèp Li a!
15 Yahweh is very grieved/sad when one of his people dies.
Byen chè nan zye SENYÈ a, se lanmò a fidèl Li yo.
16 I am one of those who serve Yahweh; I serve him like my mother did. He has freed/saved me from dying (OR, from being fastened by chains).
O SENYÈ, anverite, mwen se sèvitè Ou. Mwen se sèvitè Ou, fis a sèvant Ou an. Ou fin lache kòd mwen yo.
17 [So] I will offer to him a sacrifice to thank him, and I will pray to him.
A Ou menm, mwen va ofri yon sakrifis remèsiman, e va rele sou non SENYÈ a.
18 When I am together with many of [HYP] the people who belong to Yahweh, [in the courtyard] outside his temple in Jerusalem, I will give to him the offerings that I solemnly promised to give to him. Praise Yahweh!
Mwen va peye ve mwen yo a SENYÈ a. Wi, kite l fèt nan prezans a tout pèp Li a!
Nan lakou lakay SENYÈ a, nan mitan nou menm, O Jérusalem, Louwe SENYÈ a!
