< Psalms 112 >

1 Praise Yahweh! (Happy are/He is pleased with) those who revere him, those who happily obey his commands.
Halleluyah ·praise Yah·! Blessed is the man who fears Adonai, who delights greatly in his mitzvot ·instructions·.
2 Their children will prosper in their land; and their descendants will be blessed [by God].
His offspring will be mighty in the land. The generation of the upright will be blessed.
3 Their families [MTY] will be very wealthy [DOU], and [the results of] their righteous deeds will endure forever.
Wealth and riches are in his house. His righteousness endures forever.
4 Godly/Righteous people are [like] lights [SIM] that shine in the darkness on those who are kind, merciful and righteous.
Light dawns in the darkness for the upright, gracious, merciful, and righteous.
5 Things [will] go well for those who generously lend money to others and who conduct their businesses honestly.
It is well with the man who is merciful and lends. He will maintain his cause in judgment.
6 Righteous people will not be overwhelmed/worried/distressed [because of their troubles], and they will never be forgotten [by other people].
For he will never be shaken. The upright will be remembered forever.
7 They are not afraid of [receiving] bad news; they confidently/completely trust in Yahweh.
He will not be afraid of evil news. His heart is steadfast, trusting in Adonai.
8 They are confident and not afraid, because they know that they will see [God defeat] their enemies.
His heart is established. He will not be afraid in the end when he sees his adversaries.
9 They give things generously to poor/needy [people]; [the results of] their kind deeds will endure forever, and they [will] be exalted and honored.
He has dispersed, he has given to the poor. His righteousness endures forever. His horn will be exalted with kavod ·weighty glory·.
10 Wicked people see those things and are angry; they gnash their teeth [angrily], but they [will] disappear [and die]. The [wicked] things that they want to do [will] never happen.
The wicked will see it, and be grieved. He shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away. The desire of the wicked will perish.
