Psalms 107
1 Give thanks to Yahweh, because he always does good [things for us] His faithful love [for us] lasts forever!
Rendez grâce à Yahvé, car il est bon, car sa bonté est éternelle.
2 Those whom Yahweh has saved should tell others that he has rescued them from their enemies.
Que les rachetés par Yahvé le disent, qu'il a racheté de la main de l'adversaire,
3 He has gathered [those of you] who were [(exiled/taken forcefully)] to many lands; [he has gathered you together from] the east and the west, from the north and from the south.
et rassemblés hors des terres, de l'est et de l'ouest, du nord et du sud.
4 Some of those [who returned from those countries] wandered in the desert; they were lost and had no homes to live in.
Ils erraient dans le désert, sur un chemin désert. Ils n'ont pas trouvé de ville où vivre.
5 They were hungry and thirsty, and they were very discouraged.
Affamé et assoiffé, leur âme s'est évanouie en eux.
6 When they were in trouble, they called out to Yahweh, and he rescued them from (being distressed/their difficulties).
Et ils crièrent à Yahvé dans leur détresse, et il les a délivrés de leurs détresses.
7 He led them along a straight road [where they walked safely] to cities [in Canaan] where they could live.
Il les a aussi conduits par un chemin droit, pour qu'ils puissent aller vivre dans une ville.
8 They should praise/thank Yahweh for loving them faithfully and for the wonderful things that he does for people.
Qu'ils louent Yahvé pour sa bonté, pour ses actes merveilleux envers les enfants des hommes!
9 He gives thirsty people plenty [of water] to drink, and he gives hungry people plenty of good things [to eat].
Car il rassasie l'âme languissante. Il remplit de bien l'âme affamée.
10 Some of them were in very dark [HEN] (places [in Babylonia/other countries]); they were prisoners, suffering because of chains [fastened to their hands and feet].
Certains se sont assis dans les ténèbres et dans l'ombre de la mort, étant lié par l'affliction et le fer,
11 They were in prison because they had (rebelled against/not obeyed) the message of God; they were there because they had despised the advice given by God, who is greater than all other gods.
parce qu'ils se sont rebellés contre les paroles de Dieu, et a condamné le conseil du Très-Haut.
12 [That is why] their bodies were worn out from hard labor; when they fell down, there was no one who would help them.
C'est pourquoi il a abattu leur cœur par le travail. Ils sont tombés, et il n'y avait personne pour les aider.
13 In their troubles, they called out to Yahweh, and he rescued them from their being distressed.
Et ils crièrent à Yahvé dans leur détresse, et il les a sauvés de leur détresse.
14 He broke the chains that were on their hands and feet; and brought them out of those very dark [prisons].
Il les a fait sortir des ténèbres et de l'ombre de la mort, et a brisé leurs chaînes.
15 He broke down the [prison] gates that were made of bronze, and cut through the [prison] bars that were made of iron. [So they also] should praise/thank Yahweh for faithfully loving [them], and for [all] the wonderful things that he does for people.
Qu'ils louent Yahvé pour sa bonté, pour ses actes merveilleux envers les enfants des hommes!
Car il a brisé les portes d'airain, et de couper des barres de fer.
17 Some of them foolishly rebelled [against God], so they suffered for their sins.
Les fous sont affligés à cause de leur désobéissance, et à cause de leurs iniquités.
18 They did not want to eat any food, and they almost died.
Leur âme a en horreur toute sorte de nourriture. Ils s'approchent des portes de la mort.
19 In their troubles, they [also] called out to Yahweh, and he rescued them from their being distressed.
Puis ils crient à Yahvé dans leur détresse, et il les sauve de leurs détresses.
20 When he commanded that they be healed, they were healed; he saved them from dying.
Il envoie sa parole, et il les guérit, et les délivre de leurs tombes.
21 They [also] should praise/thank Yahweh for faithfully loving them, and for [all] the wonderful things that he does for people.
Qu'ils louent Yahvé pour sa bonté, pour ses actes merveilleux envers les enfants des hommes!
22 They should give offerings to him to show that they are thankful, and they should sing joyfully about the miracles that he has performed.
Qu'ils offrent les sacrifices d'actions de grâces, et publier ses exploits en chantant.
23 Some of them sailed in ships; they were selling things [in ports] throughout the world.
Ceux qui descendent à la mer dans des bateaux, qui font des affaires dans les grandes eaux,
24 [As they were sailing], they also saw the miracles that Yahweh performed, the wonderful things that he did [when they were] on very deep seas.
ceux-ci voient les actes de Yahvé, et ses merveilles dans les profondeurs.
25 He commanded the winds, and they became strong and (stirred up high waves/caused waves to rise high).
Car il commande, et il soulève le vent de la tempête, qui soulève ses vagues.
26 The ships [in which they were sailing] were tossed high in the air, and [then] they sank into the (troughs/low places) [between the high waves]; then the sailors were terrified.
Ils montent jusqu'au ciel, ils redescendent dans les profondeurs. Leur âme fond à cause des problèmes.
27 They stumbled about and staggered like drunken men, and they did not know what to do.
Ils titubent d'avant en arrière, et titubent comme un homme ivre, et sont à bout de nerfs.
28 In their troubles, they [also] called out to Yahweh, and he rescued them from their distresses.
Alors ils crient à Yahvé dans leur détresse, et il les fait sortir de leur détresse.
29 He (calmed the storm/caused the wind to stop blowing), and he caused the waves to completely subside.
Il fait de la tempête un calme, pour que ses ondes soient immobiles.
30 They were [very] glad when it became calm; and Yahweh brought them safely into a harbor.
Alors ils se réjouissent parce que c'est calme, alors il les amène à l'endroit désiré.
31 They [also] should praise/thank Yahweh for faithfully loving [them], and for [all] the wonderful things that he does for people.
Qu'ils louent Yahvé pour sa bonté, pour ses actions merveilleuses en faveur des enfants des hommes!
32 They should praise him among the [Israeli] people when they have gathered together, and they should praise him in front of the leaders [of the country].
Qu'ils l'exaltent aussi dans l'assemblée du peuple, et le louent sur le siège des anciens.
33 [Sometimes] Yahweh causes rivers [to become dry], [with the result that the land] becomes a desert, and springs of water become dry land.
Il transforme les fleuves en désert, l'eau jaillit dans une terre assoiffée,
34 [Sometimes] he causes land that has produced lots of crops to become salty wastelands, [with the result that they do not produce crops]. He does that because the people who live there are [very] wicked.
et une terre fertile en un désert de sel, à cause de la méchanceté de ceux qui l'habitent.
35 [But sometimes] he causes pools of water to appear in deserts, and he causes springs to flow in very dry ground.
Il transforme le désert en une mare d'eau, et une terre aride en sources d'eau.
36 He brings hungry [people] into that land, to live there and build cities [there].
Là, il fait vivre les affamés, afin qu'ils puissent préparer une ville pour y vivre,
37 They plant seeds in their fields, and they plant grapevines that produce big crops [of grapes].
semer des champs, planter des vignes, et récolter les fruits de l'augmentation.
38 He blesses the people, and the women give birth to many children, and they have large herds of cattle.
Il les bénit aussi, de sorte qu'ils se multiplient considérablement. Il ne permet pas à leur bétail de diminuer.
39 When the number of people becomes smaller and they have been humiliated [by their enemies] by being oppressed and caused to suffer [DOU],
Encore une fois, ils sont diminués et courbés. à travers l'oppression, l'ennui et le chagrin.
40 Yahweh shows contempt for the leaders who oppress them, and causes them to wander in deserts where there are no roads.
Il déverse le mépris sur les princes, et les fait errer dans un désert sans piste.
41 But he rescues poor [people] from (being in misery/suffering), and causes their families [to increase in number] like flocks of sheep.
Et pourtant, il sort les nécessiteux de leur détresse, et augmentent leurs familles comme un troupeau.
42 Godly/Righteous [people will (see/hear about)] these things, and they will rejoice, and wicked people [will hear about these things, too], [but] they will have nothing to say in reply.
Les hommes droits la verront et se réjouiront. Tous les méchants fermeront leur bouche.
43 Those who are wise should think carefully about those things; they should consider [all the things] that Yahweh [has done to show that he] faithfully loves [them].
Celui qui est sage fera attention à ces choses. Ils considéreront les bontés de Yahvé.
