Proverbs 8
1 It is as if wisdom, with great understanding [of many things], is calling [PRS] out [to people].
क्या हिकमत पुकार नहीं रही, और समझ आवाज़ बलंद नहीं कर रहा?
2 Wisdom stands on hilltops and at crossroads.
वह राह के किनारे की ऊँची जगहों की चोटियों पर, जहाँ सड़कें मिलती हैं, खड़ी होती है।
3 [Wisdom also stands] at the city gates and shouts loudly,
फाटकों के पास शहर के दहलीज़ पर, या'नी दरवाज़ों के मदख़ल पर वह ज़ोर से पुकारती है,
4 “I am calling to everyone! I am shouting loudly to all people!
“ऐ आदमियो, मैं तुम को पुकारती हूँ, और बनी आदम को आवाज़ देती
5 You people who do not know how to do things that are smart to do, get sound judgment; you foolish people, get good understanding!
ऐ सादा दिली होशियारी सीखो; और ऐ बेवकुफ़ों 'अक़्ल दिल बनो।
6 Listen to me, because I have some excellent/important things to say. What I say is what is fair/right.
सुनो, क्यूँकि मैं लतीफ़ बातें कहूँगी, और मेरे लबों से रास्ती की बातें निकलेगी;
7 I speak what is true; I detest speaking [MTY] what is false/deceptive.
इसलिए कि मेरा मुँह सच्चाई को बयान करेगा; और मेरे होंटों को शरारत से नफ़रत है।
8 Everything that I say is honest; there is nothing that I say that deceives [people].
मेरे मुँह की सब बातें सदाक़त की हैं, उनमें कुछ टेढ़ा तिरछा नहीं है।
9 My words are clear to those who have good sense; those who are wise know that what I say is right.
समझने वाले के लिए वह सब साफ़ हैं, और 'इल्म हासिल करने वालों के लिए रास्त हैं।
10 [If someone offers you the kind of teaching I give] or offers you silver, choose my teaching. [If he offers to show you how to be wise] or offers you gold, choose to know how to be wise,
चाँदी को नहीं, बल्कि मेरी तरबियत को कु़बूल करो, और कुंदन से बढ़कर 'इल्म को;
11 because wisdom is more valuable than jewels. Nothing that you desire [is as valuable] as being wise.
क्यूँकि हिकमत मरजान से अफ़ज़ल है, और सब पसन्दीदा चीज़ों में बेमिसाल।
12 I, wisdom, and understanding of what is smart to do, cannot be separated. We are like two people who live in the same house. I know how to be wise and how to make smart decisions.
मुझ हिकमत ने होशियारी को अपना मस्कन बनाया है, और 'इल्म और तमीज़ को पा लेती हूँ।
13 [All the people] who revere Yahweh hate evil. I, wisdom, hate [people who are] proud and [people] who think they are more important [than others]. I hate [people who] behave in an evil way and those who say things to deceive [others].
ख़ुदावन्द का ख़ौफ़ बदी से 'अदावत है। गु़रूर और घमण्ड और बुरी राह, और टेढ़ी बात से मुझे नफ़रत है।
14 I give [people] good advice and I enable them to do things that are wise. I understand how things really are, and I am strong.
मशवरत और हिमायत मेरी है, समझ मैं ही हूँ मुझ में क़ुदरत है।
15 When kings are wise, they rule [well]; and when rulers are wise, they make laws that are just/fair.
मेरी बदौलत बादशाह सल्तनत करते, और उमरा इन्साफ़ का फ़तवा देते हैं।
16 Rulers govern their people with the help of me, wisdom, and those who have authority decide things fairly/just with my help.
मेरी ही बदौलत हाकिम हुकूमत करते हैं, और सरदार या'नी दुनिया के सब काज़ी भी।
17 I, [wisdom], love [all] those who love me, and [all] those who truly seek me [will] find me.
जो मुझ से मुहब्बत रखते हैं मैं उनसे मुहब्बत रखती हूँ, और जो मुझे दिल से ढूंडते हैं, वह मुझे पा लेंगे।
18 I enable [people] to become rich and to be honored; [I enable them to have] wealth that will last and to be successful.
दौलत — ओ — 'इज़्ज़त मेरे साथ हैं, बल्कि हमेशा दौलत और सदाक़त भी।
19 What I can give people is more valuable than fine/pure gold and the best silver.
मेरा फल सोने से बल्कि कुन्दन से भी बेहतर है, और मेरा हासिल ख़ालिस चाँदी से।
20 I always do what is righteous and just/fair.
मैं सदाक़त की राह पर, इन्साफ़ के रास्तों में चलती हूँ।
21 I give wealth to those who love me; I fill their houses with valuable things.
ताकि मैं उनको जो मुझ से मुहब्बत रखते हैं, माल के वारिस बनाऊँ, और उनके ख़ज़ानों को भर दूँ।
22 Yahweh created me, [wisdom], when he began [to create the world]; he created me [to do my work] before he created anything else.
“ख़ुदावन्द ने इन्तिज़ाम — ए — 'आलम के शुरू' में, अपनी क़दीमी सन'अतों से पहले मुझे पैदा किया।
23 He appointed me long ago, before he created the earth.
मैं अज़ल से या'नी इब्तिदा ही से मुक़र्रर हुई, इससे पहले के ज़मीन थी।
24 I was born before the oceans were [created], when there were no springs from which water flowed.
मैं उस वक़्त पैदा हुई जब गहराओ न थे; जब पानी से भरे हुए चश्मे भी न थे।
25 I was born before the hills and mountains were formed;
मैं पहाड़ों के क़ाईम किए जाने से पहले, और टीलों से पहले पैदा हुई।
26 [I, wisdom], was born before Yahweh made the earth, before he made the fields and the soil on the earth.
जब कि उसने अभी न ज़मीन को बनाया था न मैदानों को, और न ज़मीन की ख़ाक की शुरु'आत थी।
27 I was there when Yahweh put the sky in place, when he marked the place [in the distance] where the sky and the oceans [seem to] come together.
जब उसने आसमान को क़ाईम किया मैं वहीं थी; जब उसने समुन्दर की सतह पर दायरा खींचा;
28 I was there when Yahweh put the clouds above [the earth] and when he caused the water that is inside the earth to be secure.
जब उसने ऊपर अफ़लाक को बराबर किया, और गहराओ के सोते मज़बूत हो गए;
29 I was there when he fixed a boundary for the seas, so that the water in the seas would not go past those boundaries, and when he put down the foundations which support the earth.
जब उसने समुन्दर की हद ठहराई, ताकि पानी उसके हुक्म को न तोड़े; जब उसने ज़मीन की बुनियाद के निशान लगाए।
30 I was at the side of Yahweh, the master worker (OR, as though I was his child). I caused him to be happy every day, and I was always rejoicing when I was with him.
उस वक़्त माहिर कारीगर की तरह मैं उसके पास थी, और मैं हर रोज़ उसकी ख़ुशनूदी थी, और हमेशा उसके सामने शादमान रहती थी।
31 I was delighted with the world that he created; I was happy with the people whom he created, too.
आबादी के लायक़ ज़मीन से शादमान थी, और मेरी ख़ुशनूदी बनी आदम की सुहबत में थी।
32 So, [you people who are like] my sons, listen to me. [I am] pleased with [all] those who obey my teachings.
“इसलिए ऐ बेटो, मेरी सुनो, क्यूँकि मुबारक हैं वह जो मेरी राहों पर चलते हैं।
33 Listen [carefully] to what I teach you and become wise. Do not reject my teaching!
तरबियत की बात सुनो, और 'अक़्लमंद बनो, और इसको रद्द न करो।
34 [I am] pleased with those who listen to me, those who are outside my house every day, waiting [for me to come out].
मुबारक है वह आदमी जो मेरी सुनता है, और हर रोज़ मेरे फाटकों पर इन्तिज़ार करता है, और मेरे दरवाज़ों की चौखटों पर ठहरा रहता है।
35 Those who find me will have [a long] life, and Yahweh [will] be pleased with them.
क्यूँकि जो मुझ को पाता है, ज़िन्दगी पाता है, और वह ख़ुदावन्द का मक़बूल होगा।
36 But those who stray away from me [just] harm themselves. All those who hate me, [it is as though] [IRO] they are loving death.”
लेकिन जो मुझ से भटक जाता है, अपनी ही जान को नुक़सान पहुँचाता है; मुझ से 'अदावत रखने वाले, सब मौत से मुहब्बत रखते हैं।”
