Proverbs 3
1 My son, do not forget what I have taught you. Keep my commands in your inner being,
૧મારા દીકરા, મારી આજ્ઞાઓ ભૂલી ન જા અને તારા હૃદયમાં મારા શિક્ષણને સંઘરી રાખજે;
2 because [if you obey them] you will live a long time and things will go well for you
૨કેમ કે તે તને દીર્ઘાયુષ્ય, આવરદાના વર્ષો અને શાંતિની વૃદ્ધિ આપશે.
3 Always faithfully love others and (be faithful/do what you say that you will do); doing those things [will cause others to be pleased with you]; it will be as though you are wearing a beautiful necklace. Keep those things in your mind/inner being.
૩કૃપા તથા સત્યતા તારો ત્યાગ ન કરો, તેઓને તું તારા ગળે બાંધી રાખજે, તેઓને તારા હૃદયપટ પર લખી રાખજે.
4 If you do, God and people will approve of you and think highly of you [MTY].
૪તેથી તું ઈશ્વર તથા માણસની દૃષ્ટિમાં કૃપા તથા સુકીર્તિ પામશે.
5 Trust in Yahweh completely, and do not rely on what you yourself understand.
૫તારા પૂર્ણ હૃદયથી યહોવાહ પર ભરોસો રાખ અને તારી પોતાની સમજણ પર આધાર રાખીશ નહિ.
6 Always allow him to lead you. If you do that, he will (show you the right path/direct your life).
૬તારા સર્વ માર્ગોમાં પ્રભુનો અધિકાર સ્વીકાર અને તે તારા માર્ગો સીધા કરશે.
7 Do not be proud of being wise. [Instead], revere Yahweh and turn away from doing evil.
૭તું તારી પોતાની નજરમાં જ્ઞાની ન થા; યહોવાહનો ભય રાખીને દુષ્ટતાથી દૂર થા.
8 If you do that, your body will be healthy/strong; it will be [like] medicine for you.
૮તેથી તારું શરીર તંદુરસ્ત રહેશે અને તારું શરીર તાજગીમાં રહેશે.
9 Honor Yahweh by [what you do with] your money; and [by giving him] the first part of your harvest.
૯તારા ધનથી તથા તારી પેદાશના પ્રથમ ફળથી યહોવાહનું સન્માન કર.
10 If you do that, [you will have a good harvest]. Yahweh will fill your barns [with grain], and your vats/containers will be overflowing with [grape juice for making] wine.
૧૦એમ કરવાથી તારા અન્નના ભંડાર ભરપૂર થશે અને તારા દ્રાક્ષકુંડો નવા દ્રાક્ષારસથી ઊભરાઈ જશે.
11 My son, when Yahweh disciplines/corrects you, do not despise it, and if he rebukes you, do not resent it.
૧૧મારા દીકરા, યહોવાહની શિક્ષાને તુચ્છ ન ગણ અને તેમના ઠપકાથી કંટાળી ન જા.
12 [I say that] because it is the people whom Yahweh loves that he corrects/reproves, [just] like parents correct/reprove their sons whom they love.
૧૨કેમ કે જેમ પિતા પોતાના પુત્રને ઠપકો આપે છે તેમ યહોવાહ જેના પર પ્રેમ રાખે છે તેને ઠપકો આપે છે.
13 [Yahweh] is pleased with those who become wise and have good understanding.
૧૩જે માણસને ડહાપણ મળે છે, અને જે માણસ બુદ્ધિ સંપાદન કરે છે, તે આશીર્વાદિત છે.
14 Being wise and having good understanding is worth more than silver, better than gold.
૧૪કેમ કે તેનો વેપાર ચાંદીના વેપાર કરતાં અને તેનો વળતર ચોખ્ખા સોનાના વળતર કરતાં શ્રેષ્ઠ છે.
15 Being wise is more precious than (jewels/precious stones); there is nothing that you could desire [that would be as valuable] as wisdom.
૧૫ડહાપણ માણેક કરતાં વધારે મૂલ્યવાન છે અને તારી મનગમતી કોઈપણ વસ્તુ તેની બરાબરી કરી શકે તેમ નથી.
16 On the one hand, wisdom [PRS] enables [you] to live a long life, and on the other hand, wisdom enables [you] to become rich and to be honored.
૧૬તેના જમણા હાથમાં દીર્ઘાયુષ્ય છે, તેના ડાબા હાથમાં સમૃદ્ધિ અને સન્માન છે.
17 If [you] are wise, [your] life will be pleasant, and things will go well [for you].
૧૭તેના માર્ગો સુખદાયક અને તેના બધા રસ્તા શાંતિપૂર્ણ છે.
18 Wisdom is [like] a tree that gives long life to those who [eagerly] take hold of it, and [Yahweh] is pleased with those who hold onto it tightly.
૧૮જેઓ તે ગ્રહણ કરે છે તેઓનું તે જીવનવૃક્ષ છે, જેઓ તેને દૃઢતાથી પકડી રાખે છે તેઓ સુખી થાય છે.
19 By his wisdom Yahweh created the earth, and by his understanding he put everything in the skies.
૧૯યહોવાહે પૃથ્વીને ડહાપણથી અને આકાશોને સમજશક્તિથી ભરીને સ્થાપન કર્યા છે.
20 By his knowledge [he caused] the water that was beneath the earth to burst forth, and he caused rain to fall from the clouds.
૨૦તેમના ડહાપણને પ્રતાપે ઊંડાણમાંથી પાણીનાં ઝરણાં ફૂટી નીકળ્યાં અને વાદળોમાંથી ઝાકળ ટપકે છે.
21 My son, [always] keep doing things that are right and things that are smart. If you do that,
૨૧મારા દીકરા, સુજ્ઞાન તથા વિવેકબુદ્ધિ પકડી રાખ, તેઓને તારી નજર આગળથી દૂર થવા ન દે.
22 you will live [many years] and be honored and respected {people will honor and respect you}.
૨૨તો તેઓ તારા આત્માનું જીવન અને તારા ગળાની શોભા થશે.
23 If you do what is right and wise, you will [be able to] walk safely, and you will not (stumble/do things that are wrong) [MET].
૨૩પછી તું તારા માર્ગમાં સુરક્ષિત જઈ શકીશ અને તારો પગ ઠોકર ખાઈને લથડશે નહિ.
24 You will [be able to] lie down [at night] and not be afraid [of anything], and you will sleep peacefully.
૨૪જ્યારે તું ઊંઘી જશે, ત્યારે તને કોઈ ડર લાગશે નહિ; જ્યારે તું સૂઈ જશે, ત્યારે તને મીઠી ઊંઘ આવશે.
25 You will not be afraid that something disastrous will happen to you or that storms that strike the wicked will strike you,
૨૫જ્યારે આકસ્મિક ભય આવી પડે અથવા દુષ્ટ માણસોની પાયમાલી થાય ત્યારે તું ગભરાઈશ નહિ.
26 because you will be confident that Yahweh [will take care of you]. He will not let your foot be caught in a trap/snare.
૨૬કેમ કે યહોવાહ તારી સાથે રહેશે અને તારા પગને સપડાઈ જતાં બચાવશે.
27 If you are able to help people who deserve it, do not refuse to help them.
૨૭હિત કરવાની શક્તિ તારા હાથમાં હોય તો જેને માટે તે ઘટિત હોય તેનું હિત કરવામાં પાછો ન પડ.
28 If you are able to help someone you interact with, do not say, “Come back later; [perhaps] I can help you tomorrow.”
૨૮જ્યારે તારી પાસે પૈસા હોય, ત્યારે તારા પડોશીને એમ ન કહે, “જા અને ફરીથી આવજે, આવતીકાલે હું આપીશ.”
29 Do not make plans to harm those you interact with regularly, [because] they live near you, and they trust you.
૨૯જે વ્યક્તિ તારી પડોશમાં નિર્ભય રહે છે, તેવા તારા પડોશીનું ભૂંડું કરવાનો પ્રયત્ન ન કર.
30 If someone has not harmed you, do not accuse him [by saying that he has harmed you].
૩૦કોઈ માણસે તારું કંઈ નુકસાન કર્યું ન હોય, તો તેની સાથે કારણ વગર તકરાર ન કર.
31 Do not envy people who [obtain things by] violent actions, and do not imitate/do what they do.
૩૧દુષ્ટ માણસની અદેખાઈ ન કર, અથવા તેનો એક પણ માર્ગ પસંદ ન કર.
32 [I say that] because Yahweh considers such people to be abominable/detestable; but he is a friend to [all] those who do what is right.
૩૨કેમ કે આડા માણસોને યહોવાહ ધિક્કારે છે; પણ પ્રામાણિક માણસો તેનો મર્મ સમજે છે.
33 Yahweh curses the families [MTY] of those who are wicked, but he blesses the families of those who are good/righteous.
૩૩યહોવાહ દુષ્ટ માણસોના ઘર પર શાપ ઉતારે છે; પણ તે ન્યાયી માણસોના ઘરને આશીર્વાદ આપે છે.
34 Yahweh makes fun of those who make fun [of others], but he kindly helps those who are humble.
૩૪તે તિરસ્કાર કરનારાનો તિરસ્કાર કરે છે, પણ તે નમ્ર જનોને કૃપા આપે છે.
35 Wise [people] will be honored {people will honor wise people}, but foolish people will be dishonored/disgraced.
૩૫જ્ઞાનીઓ ગૌરવનો વારસો પામશે, પણ મૂર્ખોને બદનામી જ મળશે.
