Proverbs 21
1 Yahweh controls what kings do [MTY] [like] he controls how streams flow; he causes kings to do just what he wants them to do.
El corazón del rey en las manos del Señor es como las corrientes de agua, y por él se vuelve en cualquier dirección a su placer.
2 People always think that what they do is right, but Yahweh judges our (motives/reasons [for doing things)] [MTY].
Todo el camino de un hombre parece correcto para sí mismo, pero el Señor es el que prueba los corazones.
3 Doing what is right and fair is more acceptable to Yahweh than [bringing] sacrifices [to him].
Hacer lo correcto y verdadero es más agradable para el Señor que una ofrenda.
4 Being proud and arrogant [DOU] is [like] a lamp [MTY] [that guides] wicked people; being proud and arrogant characterizes (wicked people’s whole behavior/everything that wicked people do).
Una mirada alta y un corazón de orgullo, los pensamientos del malvado es el pecado.
5 People who plan carefully will surely have plenty [of what they need]; those who act too quickly [to become rich] will become poor.
Los propósitos bien calculados del hombre tienen un resultado solo en ganancia; pero alguien que es demasiado rápido y a la ligera sólo llegará a pobreza.
6 Money that people acquire [by cheating others] by lying [MTY] to them will soon disappear [like] a mist, and doing that will [soon] lead to their death.
El que obtiene riquezas con lengua falsa, va tras lo que es solo un aliento fugaz, y busca la muerte.
7 Wicked [people] refuse to do what is right/just, but they will be ruined because of the violent things [PRS] that they do.
Por sus actos violentos, los malvados serán apartados, porque no tienen ningún deseo de hacer lo correcto.
8 Guilty [people continually do what is evil; it is as though] [MET] they are walking on a crooked road; but righteous/innocent people [always] do what is right.
Torcido es el camino del que está lleno de crimen; pero en cuanto a aquel cuyo corazón está limpio, su trabajo es recto.
9 It is better to live in the corner of an attic/housetop [by yourself] than to live inside the house with a wife who is always nagging.
Es mejor vivir en un ángulo de la parte superior de la casa, que con una mujer de lengua amarga en una casa amplia.
10 Wicked [people] [SYN] are always wanting [to do what is] evil; they never act mercifully toward anyone.
El deseo del malhechor está fijado en el mal: no tiene ningún sentimiento amable hacia su prójimo.
11 When those who ridicule [others] are punished, [even] those who do not have good sense [see that, and] they become wise, and when those who are wise are taught, they become wiser.
Cuando el hombre de orgullo sufre castigo, el hombre simple obtiene sabiduría; y al observar al sabio, obtiene conocimiento.
12 [God], the one [who is completely] righteous, knows [what happens inside] the houses of wicked [people], and [he will cause] those people to be completely ruined/destroyed.
El recto, observa la casa del malhechor, permite que los pecadores sean derrocados para su destrucción.
13 There are people who refuse to listen when poor people cry out [for help]; [but some day] they themselves will cry out [for help], and no one will hear them.
Aquel cuyos oídos se detienen al grito de los pobres, él mismo no recibirá respuesta a su grito de ayuda.
14 When someone is angry [with you], if you secretly give him a gift, he will stop being angry.
Por una ofrenda secreta se aparta la ira, y el calor de los sentimientos de enojo por el dinero en los pliegues de la túnica.
15 Good/Righteous [people] are happy when they [see others do] what is just/fair, but those who do what is evil are terrified [when they think about what may happen to them].
Es un placer para el hombre bueno hacer lo correcto, pero es destrucción para los trabajadores del mal.
16 Those who stop behaving like those who have good sense behave will [soon] discover that they have gone to the place where dead people are.
El vagabundo del camino del conocimiento tendrá su lugar de descanso entre los muertos.
17 Those who spend their money to buy (things that give them pleasure/things that cause them to feel happy) will become poor; those who love [to spend money to buy] wine and nice/fancy food [MTY] will never become rich.
El amante del placer será un hombre pobre: el amante del vino y el aceite no obtendrá riqueza.
18 Wicked [people] bring on themselves the sufferings that they were trying to cause righteous [people] to experience [DOU].
El malhechor será dado como precio por la vida del hombre bueno, y el trabajador del engaño en el lugar del recto.
19 It is better to live [alone] in a desert than [to live] with a wife who is [always] nagging and complaining.
Es mejor vivir en él desierto, que con una mujer de lengua amargada y enojada.
20 Wise people have many valuable things in their houses, but foolish people [quickly] spend/waste [all their money].
Hay una tienda de gran valor en la casa de los sabios, pero es desperdiciada por el hombre necio.
21 Those who [always] try to act in a fair and kind way [toward others] will live [a long time] and be honored/respected.
El que sigue la justicia y la misericordia, obtendrá la vida, la justicia y la honra.
22 A wise army commander [helps his troops] climb over a wall [to attack] a city that is defended by a strong army, with the result that they are able to (get over/destroy) the high walls that their enemies trusted [would protect them].
Un hombre sabio sube a la ciudad de los fuertes, y vence su fortaleza en la cual ponen su fe.
23 Those who are very careful about what they say [MTY] are [able to] avoid trouble.
El que vela sobre su boca y su lengua, previene su alma.
24 Those who make fun of [everything that is good] are proud and conceited [DOU]; they [always] act in an inconsiderate way [toward others].
El hombre de orgullo, pedante, es llamado; escarnecedor, él está actuando en un arrebato de orgullo.
25 Lazy people, who refuse to work, [will] die [of hunger] because they [SYN] do not earn [money to buy food].
El deseo del que odia el trabajo es muerte para él, porque sus manos no harán ningún trabajo.
26 All during the day [wicked people] desire to obtain things, but righteous [people] have plenty, [with the result that] they [are able to] give things generously to others.
Todo el día el pecador va tras su deseo; pero el hombre recto da libremente, sin guardar nada.
27 [Yahweh] detests the sacrifices that wicked [people] offer [to him]; [but he] detests it even more when they [think that they will escape being punished for] their evil deeds because of the sacrifices that they bring.
La ofrenda de los malvados es repugnante: ¡cuánto más cuando la dan con un mal propósito!
28 Those who tell lies in court will be punished; no one stops/silences witnesses who say what is truthful/reliable.
Un testigo falso será cortado; pero él que escucha, siempre podrá responder.
29 Wicked people pretend [that they know everything], but righteous people think carefully about [what will happen because of] what they do.
El malvado hace que su cara sea dura, pero en cuanto al recto, él piensa en su camino.
30 [Thinking that we are] wise, and that we understand many things, and that we have good insight, does not help us if Yahweh is (acting against/not pleased with) us.
La sabiduría, el conocimiento y las sabias sugerencias no sirven para nada contra el Señor.
31 We [can] get horses ready to fight in a battle, but Yahweh is the one who enables us to (win victories/defeat our enemies).
El caballo está listo para el día de la guerra, pero el poder para vencer es del Señor.
