< Numbers 31 >

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses/me and said,
Ary Jehovah niteny tamin’ i Mosesy ka nanao hoe:
2 “Before you die, [tell the] Israeli people that they should (pay back/get revenge on) the Midian people-group for what they did to you.”
Valio ny Midianita noho ny nataony tamin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely; ary rehefa afaka izany, dia hangonina any amin’ ny razanao ianao.
3 So Moses/I said to the people, “Get some men prepared for battle. Yahweh will enable them to (pay back/get revenge on) the Midian people-group [for what they did to us].
Dia niteny tamin’ ny olona Mosesy ka nanao hoe: Miomàna ho any an-tafika ny sasany aminareo, ary aoka izy hanafika ny Midianita, hahatanteraka ny famalian’ i Jehovah azy.
4 Select 1,000 men from each tribe to fight.”
Arivo lahy avy isam-pirenena amin’ ny firenen’ Isiraely no hampandehaninareo ho any an-tafika.
5 So 12,000 men prepared for fighting in the battle, 1,000 from each tribe.
Dia navahana tamin’ ny firenen’ Isiraely ny arivo isam-pirenena, dia roa arivo amby iray alina, samy voaomana hiady.
6 When Moses/I sent them to the battle, Phinehas, the son of Eleazar the priest, went with them. He took with him some of the things from the Sacred Tent and the trumpets that would be blown to give the signal [to start the battle].
Ary nampandehanin’ i Mosesy ho any an-tafika ireo arivo lahy isam-pirenena ireo sy Finehasa, zanak’ i Eleazara mpisorona, izay nitondra ny fanaka masìna teny an-tànany, dia ny trompetra avo feo.
7 The Israeli men fought the soldiers from the Midian people-group, as Yahweh had told Moses/me to tell them to do, and they killed every man from the Midian people-group.
Dia niady tamin’ ny Midianita ireo, araka izay efa nandidian’ i Jehovah an’ i Mosesy; ary namono ny lehilahy rehetra izy
8 Among those whom they killed were the five kings of the Midian people-group—Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba. They also killed with a sword Balaam, the son of Beor.
ary ny mpanjakan’ i Midiana dimy lahy dia matiny niaraka tamin’ ireny koa, dia Evy sy Rekema sy Zora sy Hora ary Reba; ary Balama, zanak’ i Beora, koa dia novonoiny tamin’ ny sabatra.
9 They captured all the women and children of the Midian people-group and took away their cattle, their flocks of sheep, and herds of goats, and all their other possessions.
Ary ny Zanak’ Isiraely namabo ny vehivavy Midianita sy ny zanany madinika; ary nobaboiny avokoa ny biby fiompiny rehetra sy ny omby aman’ ondriny rehetra ary ny fananany rehetra.
10 Then they burned down all the houses in the towns and villages where the people of the Midian people-group lived,
Ary ny tanànany rehetra izay teo amin’ ny fonenany sy ny tobiny rehetra dia nodorany tamin’ ny afo.
11 but they took home with them all the women and children and animals and possessions.
Ary nalainy avokoa ny babo rehetra, na olona na biby fiompy,
12 They brought all these to Eliezer and Moses/me, and to the rest of the Israeli people who were at their/our camp on the plains where the Moab people-group lived, near the Jordan River, across from Jericho.
dia nentiny tany amin’ i Mosesy sy Eleazara mpisorona ary ny fiangonan’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely teo an-toby, teo Arbota-moaba, izay eo amoron’ i Jordana tandrifin’ i Jeriko.
13 Eleazar and all the leaders of the people and Moses/I went outside the camp to greet/meet with them.
Ary Mosesy sy Eleazara mpisorona ary ny lohan’ ny fiangonana rehetra nivoaka hitsena azy teo ivelan’ ny toby.
14 But Moses/I was angry with some of the men who had returned from the battle. He/I was angry with the army officers and the men who were commanders of 1,000 men and those who were commanders of 100 men.
Ary tezitra tamin’ ny mpifehy ny miaramila Mosesy, dia tamin’ ny mpifehy arivo sy ny mpifehy zato, izay avy tany an-tafika,
15 He/I asked them, “Why did you allow the women to live [RHQ]?
ka hoy izy taminy: Nahoana no novelominareo ny vehivavy rehetra?
16 They are the ones who did what Balaam suggested and urged/persuaded our people to worship Baal [instead of Yahweh]. As a result, Yahweh caused a plague to strike his people while they were at Peor.
Ireo ihany no nampahadiso ny Zanak’ Isiraely tamin’ i Jehovah ny amin’ i Peora, araka ny tenin’ i Balama, ka nahazo ny fiangonan’ i Jehovah ny areti-mandringana.
17 So, now you must kill all the boys of the Midian people-group, and also kill all the women who have had sex [EUP] with any man.
Koa ankehitriny, vonoy ny zazalahy madinika rehetra, ary vonoy koa ny vehivavy rehetra izay efa nahalala lahy.
18 Spare only the girls who are virgins [EUP]. You can keep them to be your [wives or your slaves].
Fa ny zazavavy rehetra izay tsy mbola nahalala lahy dia velomy ho anareo.
19 All of you who have killed someone or touched the corpse of someone who was killed [in the battle] must stay outside the camp for seven days. On the third day and on the seventh day, you must [perform the ritual to] cause you and those whom you have captured to become acceptable to God again.
Ary mitobia eo ivelan’ ny toby hafitoana; ary izay nahafaty olona na nikasika faty dia samia manadio ny tenany, na ianareo, na ny sambotrareo amin’ ny andro fahatelo sy ny andro fahafito.
20 You must also wash your clothes and anything [that you took to the battle] that is made of leather or goat’s hair or wood.”
Ary ny fitafiana rehetra, na ny fanaka hoditra, na ny fanaka volon’ osy, na ny fanaka hazo, dia diovy avokoa.
21 Then Eleazar said to the soldiers who had returned from the battle, “This is what Yahweh has instructed Moses:
Ary hoy Eleazara mpisorona tamin’ ny mpanafika, izay efa tany amin’ ny ady: Izao no lalàna hotandremana, izay nandidian’ i Jehovah’ an i Mosesy:
22 You must put into a fire any gold or silver or bronze or iron or tin or lead things [that you brought back from the battle].
Ny volamena sy ny volafotsy sy ny varahina sy ny vy sy ny vifotsy ary ny firaka,
23 Put everything that will not burn into the fire, and then they will be acceptable for you to use. But also sprinkle those things with the water that causes things and people to become acceptable to God. The things that would burn [if you put them] in a fire, sprinkle them with that water.
dia ny zavatra rehetra izay maharitra afo, dia ataovy ao amin’ ny afo, dia hadio, kanefa hodiovina amin’ ny rano fanadiovana koa izy; ary izay rehetra tsy maharitra afo kosa dia ataovy ao amin’ ny rano ihany.
24 On the seventh day, wash your clothes, and then you will become acceptable to God again. After you do that, you may return to the camp.”
Ary sasao ny fitafianareo amin’ ny andro fahafito, dia hadio ianareo; ary rehefa afaka izany, dia mahazo miditra eo amin’ ny toby ianareo.
25 Yahweh also said to Moses/me,
Ary Jehovah niteny tamin’ i Mosesy ka nanao hoe:
26 “Tell Eleazar and the leaders of the family groups that they must write down a list of all the goods, the women, and the animals that were captured [in the battle].
Alaonao sy Eleazara mpisorona sy ny lohan’ ny fianakaviana amin’ ny fiangonana ny isan’ ny babo izay azo, na olona, na biby fiompy;
27 Then they must divide all those things, half given to the men who fought in the battle and the other half given to the rest of the people.
ary sasaho ny babo ho an’ izay niady, dia izay efa tany an-tafika, sy ho an’ ny fiangonana rehetra;
28 From the men who fought in the battle, take one from every 500 people and from every 500 cattle and donkeys and sheep, to be a tax for me.
kanefa makà anjara ho an’ i Jehovah avy amin’ ny mpanafika izay nivoaka ho any an-tafika, dia iray isan-diman-jato, na olona, na omby, na boriky, na ondry aman’ osy;
29 Take these things to Eleazar to (be my share/belong to me).
ny antsasany izay azy no hanalanao izany ka homenao an’ i Eleazara mpisorona ho fanatitra alaina ho an’ i Jehovah.
30 And from the half that belongs to the ordinary people, take one item from every 50. That includes people, cattle, donkeys, sheep, goats, and other animals. Give those things to the descendants of Levi who take care of my Sacred Tent.”
Ary ny antsasany an’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely kosa dia analao iray isan-dimam-polo, na olona, na omby, na boriky, na ondry aman’ osy, dia ny biby fiompy rehetra, ka omeo ho an’ ny Levita, izay mitandrina ny anjara-raharaha momba ny tabernakelin’ i Jehovah.
31 So Eleazar and Moses/I did what Yahweh commanded.
Dia nataon’ i Mosesy sy Eleazara mpisorona izany, araka izay efa nandidian’ i Jehovah an’ i Mosesy.
32 There were 675,000 sheep, 72,000 cattle, 61,000 donkeys, and 32,000 virgins that they had captured from the Midian people-group.
Ary ny babo sisa afa-tsy izay azon’ ny mpanafika, dia ondry aman’ osy dimy arivo amby fito alina sy enina hetsy,
sy omby roa arivo amby fito alina,
sy boriky arivo amby enina alina,
ary olona, dia ny zazavavy izay tsy mbola nahalala lahy, roa arivo amby telo alina.
36 The men who fought in the battle took 337,000 sheep [from the battle],
Ary ny antsasany izay anjaran’ ny efa tany an-tafika dia izao: ny isan’ ny ondry aman’ osy dia diman-jato amby fito arivo sy telo alina sy telo hetsy;
37 and they gave 675 of them to Yahweh.
ary ny anjaran’ i Jehovah avy tamin’ ny ondry aman’ osy dia dimy amby fito-polo sy enin-jato.
38 They took 36,000 cattle and gave 72 of them to Yahweh.
Ary ny omby dia enina arivo amby telo alina; ary ny anjaran’ i Jehovah avy tamin’ ireo dia roa amby fito-polo.
39 They took 30,500 donkeys, and they gave 61 of them to Yahweh.
Ary ny boriky dia diman-jato amby telo alina; ary ny anjaran’ i Jehovah avy tamin’ ireo dia iraika amby enim-polo.
40 They took 16,000 virgins, and they dedicated 32 of them to Yahweh.
Ary ny zazavavy dia enina arivo amby iray alina; ary ny anjaran’ i Jehovah avy tamin’ ireo dia roa amby telo-polo.
41 Moses/I gave to Eleazar all [the animals] that had been given to Yahweh, as Yahweh had commanded.
Dia nomen’ i Mosesy an’ i Eleazara mpisorona ny anjara izay nalaina ho an’ i Jehovah, araka izay efa nandidian’ i Jehovah an’ i Mosesy.
42 Moses/I separated what those who had fought in the battle received from what the other people received. The people had taken 337,500 sheep, 36,000 cattle, 30,500 donkeys, and 16,000 virgins,
Ary avy tamin’ ny antsasany an’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely, izay nozarain’ i Mosesy avy tamin’ ny mpanafika
(fa ny antsasany an’ ny fiangonana dia ondry aman’ osy dimanjato amby fito arivo sy telo alina sy telo hetsy,
sy omby enina arivo amby telo alina,
sy boriky diman-jato amby telo alina,
ary olona enina arivo amby iray alina),
47 From what the people received, Moses/I took one from every 50 items and dedicated them to Yahweh. That included animals and people. As Yahweh commanded, he/I gave them all to the descendants of Levi who took care of the Sacred Tent.
ny antsasany an’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely dia nanalan’ i Mosesy iray isan-dimam-polo, na olona, na biby fiompy, ka nomeny ho an’ ny Levita mpitandrina ny anjara-raharaha momha ny tabernakelin’ i Jehovah izany, araka izay efa nandidian’ i Jehovah an’ i Mosesy.
48 Then the army officers and those who commanded 1,000 men and those who commanded 100 men came to Moses/me.
Ary ny mpifehy, izay nifehy ny miaramila, dia ny mpifehy arivo sy ny mpifehy zato, dia nanatona an’ i Mosesy
49 They said, “We, who are your servants, have counted the soldiers whom we command, and [we found that] none of them (is missing/has been killed).
ka nanao taminy hoe: Ny mpanomponao efa naka ny isan’ ny mpanafika izay nofehezinay, ka tsy misy diso isa aminay na dia lehilahy iray akory aza;
50 So [to thank Yahweh for that], we have brought to him a gift of the gold items that we found [after the battle]: Gold arm bands and bracelets and rings and earrings and necklaces. This will enable us to be forgiven for our sins.”
koa nitondra fanatitra ho an’ i Jehovah izahay, dia ny firavaka volamena efa azonay avy, dia fehin-tanana sy haba sy peratra fanombohan-kase sy kavina ary voavola, hanaovana fanavotana ho an’ ny ainay eo anatrehan’ i Jehovah.
51 So Eleazar and Moses/I accepted the gold items that they brought.
Dia noraisin’ i Mosesy sy Eleazara mpisorona taminy ny volamena, dia firavaka voatefy avokoa.
52 The total of it weighed about (420 pounds/190 kg.).
Ary ny volamena rehetra tamin’ ny fanatitra nalain’ ny mpifehy arivo sy ny mpifehy zato ho an’ i Jehovah, dia sekely dimam-polo amby fiton-jato sy enina arivo sy iray alina
53 Each soldier had taken these things for himself.
(fa ny mpanafika samy namabo ho an’ ny tenany).
54 Eleazar and Moses/I accepted these gold items from these commanders and put them in the Sacred Tent to remind the Israeli people about how Yahweh [had helped them defeat the Midian people-group].
Dia noraisin’ i Mosesy sy Eleazara mpisorona ny volamena nomen’ ny mpifehy arivo sy ny mpifehy zato ka nentiny tao amin’ ny trano-lay fihaonana ho fahatsiarovana ho an’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely eo anatrehan’ i Jehovah.
