Numbers 3
1 These are some of the things that happened to Aaron and Moses/me when Yahweh spoke to Moses/me on Sinai Mountain.
Đây là những người trong gia đình A-rôn và Môi-se trong thời gian Chúa Hằng Hữu phán với Môi-se trên Núi Si-nai.
2 Aaron’s four sons were Nadab the oldest, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
Tên các con trai A-rôn là: Na-đáp, con trưởng nam, A-bi-hu, Ê-lê-a-sa, và Y-tha-ma.
3 They were appointed [MTY] (OR, Moses/I appointed them) to be priests.
Đó là tên các con trai A-rôn, tức các thầy tế lễ được xức dầu và tấn phong để phục vụ trong chức tế lễ.
4 But, while Yahweh was watching, Nadab and Abihu died in the Sinai Desert because they burned [incense] in a manner that was different from what Yahweh had commanded. They had no sons, so Eleazar and Ithamar were the [only] sons of Aaron who [were left to be] priests, along with their father Aaron.
Tuy nhiên, Na-đáp và A-bi-hu đã ngã chết trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu khi họ dâng hương lên Chúa Hằng Hữu trong hoang mạc Si-nai bằng một thứ lửa Ngài không cho phép. Họ không có con trai nên chỉ có Ê-lê-a-sa và Y-tha-ma phục vụ trong chức thầy tế lễ dưới sự hướng dẫn của A-rôn, cha họ.
5 Then Yahweh said to Moses/me,
Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo Môi-se:
6 “Bring [the men of] the tribe of Levi and present them to Aaron, in order that they may assist him.
“Hãy đem đại tộc Lê-vi đến, đặt họ dưới quyền Thầy Tế lễ A-rôn để họ giúp đỡ người.
7 They will serve Aaron and all the other Israeli people, while they do their work inside the Sacred Tent and outside it.
Họ phải thi hành các nhiệm vụ thay cho A-rôn và toàn thể dân chúng tại Đền Tạm bằng cách phục vụ trong Đền Tạm.
8 They must serve all the Israeli people by taking care of all the things that are inside the Sacred Tent.
Họ phải chăm sóc tất cả vật dụng trong lều thánh, thi hành các bổn phận của người Ít-ra-ên bằng cách phục vụ trong Đền Tạm.
9 Appoint them to [help] Aaron and his two sons. I have chosen them from all the Israeli people to do that.
Trong vòng người Ít-ra-ên họ là những người duy nhất được giao trọn cho A-rôn.
10 Appoint Aaron and his two sons to do the work that priests do. But anyone else who comes close to the Sacred Tent [to do that work] must be executed.”
Con hãy bổ nhiệm A-rôn và các con trai người làm thầy tế lễ. Bất cứ người nào khác xâm phạm vào chức vụ này sẽ bị xử tử.”
11 Yahweh also told Moses/me,
Chúa Hằng Hữu lại phán bảo Môi-se:
12 “Note that from all the Israelis, I have chosen the men of the tribe of Levi to take the places of all the firstborn sons of the Israeli people. The male descendants of Levi belong to me,
“Ta đã chọn người Lê-vi giữa những người Ít-ra-ên để thay thế cho các con trai đầu lòng của người Ít-ra-ên. Người Lê-vi thuộc về Ta,
13 because truly all the firstborn [males] belong to me. That is because on the day that I killed all the firstborn [sons] of the people of Egypt, I [spared] all the firstborn [sons] of the Israelis and set them apart for myself. I also set apart the firstborn [males] of your domestic animals. They belong to me, Yahweh.”
vì tất cả con trai đầu lòng đều thuộc về Ta. Khi Ta đánh hạ tất cả con đầu lòng tại Ai Cập, Ta đã biệt riêng cho Ta tất cả con đầu lòng của Ít-ra-ên, cả người lẫn thú vật. Họ phải thuộc về Ta. Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu.”
14 Yahweh spoke to Moses/me again in the Sinai Desert. He said,
Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo Môi-se tại hoang mạc Si-nai:
15 “Count the male members of the tribe of Levi. Write down their names and the names of their clans and family groups. Count all the males who are at least one month old.”
“Hãy kiểm kê dân số người Lê-vi tùy theo gia tộc và họ hàng. Con hãy kiểm kê tất cả người nam từ một tháng trở lên.”
16 So Moses/I counted them, just as Yahweh commanded.
Như vậy, Môi-se kiểm kê họ đúng như lời Chúa Hằng Hữu truyền bảo mình.
17 Levi had [three] sons, whose names were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
Đây là tên các con trai Lê-vi: Ghẹt-sôn, Kê-hát, và Mê-ra-ri.
18 Gershon had [two] sons: Libni and Shimei. The clans that were descended from them had the same names as those [two] sons.
Đây là tên con trai Ghẹt-sôn: Líp-ni và Si-mê-i.
19 Kohath had [four] sons: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. The clans that were descended from them had the same names as those [four] sons.
Gia tộc từ Kê-hát là: Am-ram, Dít-sa, Hếp-rôn, và U-xi-ên.
20 Merari had [two] sons: Mahli and Mushi. The clans that were descended from them had the same names as those [two] sons. Those are the clans that were descended from Levi.
Con trai Mê-ra-ri là: Mách-li và Mu-si. Đó là những tổ các thị tộc trong đại tộc Lê-vi.
21 The two clans descended from Gershon are those that were descended from [his sons] Libni and Shimei.
Con cháu Líp-ni là Si-mê-i thuộc về Ghẹt-sôn; đó là dòng họ Ghẹt-sôn.
22 In those two clans there were 7,500 males who were at least one month old.
Tổng số người nam từ một tháng trở lên được 7.500 người.
23 They were told to set up their tents on the west side of the Sacred Tent.
Dòng họ Ghẹt-sôn phải cắm trại phía tây phía sau Đền Tạm.
24 The leader of those two clans was Eliasaph, the son of Lael.
Người lãnh đạo gia tộc Ghẹt-sôn là Ê-li-a-sáp, con La-ên.
25 Their work was to take care of the Sacred Tent, including the coverings of the tent, the curtain at the entrance of the tent,
Trách nhiệm của dòng họ Ghẹt-sôn tại Đền Tạm là trông coi lều, mái phủ lều, bức màn nơi cửa,
26 the (curtains/large pieces of cloth) that formed the walls around the courtyard that is around the tent and around the altar, the curtains that were at the entrance of the courtyard, and the ropes [for fastening the tent]. They also did all the work of taking care of the things outside the Sacred Tent.
các bức màn trong hành lang, bức màn tại cửa hành lang bao quanh Đền Tạm và bàn thờ, và các sợi dây thừng cùng tất cả dịch vụ bảo quản những thứ đó.
27 The clans that were descended from Kohath were those descended from his four sons: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.
Dòng họ Am-ram, Dít-sê-ha, Hếp-rôn, và U-xi-ên thuộc về Kê-hát; đó là dòng họ Kê-hát.
28 In those four clans there were 8,600 males who were at least one month old. The work of the men of the clans was to take care of [the things that are inside] the Sacred Tent.
Tổng số người nam từ một tuổi trở lên được 8.600 người. Dòng họ Kê-hát chịu trách nhiệm chăm sóc nơi thánh.
29 They set up their tents on the south side of the Sacred Tent.
Dòng họ Kê-hát phải cắm trại phía nam Đền Tạm.
30 The leader of those four clans was Elizaphan, the son of Uzziel.
Người lãnh đạo gia tộc Kê-hát là Ê-li-sa-phan, con U-xi-ên.
31 The work of the men of those clans was to take care of the sacred chest, the table [on which the priest put the sacred bread], the lampstand, the altars, all the items that the priest used in the Sacred Tent, and the curtain that is inside the tent. Their work was also to take care of the things inside the tent.
Họ chịu trách nhiệm chăm sóc Hòm Giao Ước, cái bàn, chân đèn, các bàn thờ, và bảo quản những thứ đó, cùng tấm màn, và các vật dụng phụ thuộc.
32 Aaron’s son Eleazar was the leader of all the male descendants of Levi. He supervised all the work that was done at the Sacred Tent.
Đứng đầu các vị lãnh đạo đại tộc Lê-vi là Ê-lê-a-sa, con trai Thầy Tế lễ A-rôn; ông giám sát những người chịu trách nhiệm coi sóc nơi thánh.
33 The clans that were descended from Merari were those descended from [his sons] Mahli and Mushi.
Họ hàng Mách-li và họ hàng Mu-si thuộc về Mê-ra-ri; đó là dòng họ Mê-ra-ri.
34 In those two clans there were 6,200 males who were at least one month old.
Tổng số người nam từ một tháng trở lên được 6.200 người.
35 They were told to set up their tents on the north side of the Sacred Tent. The leader of those two clans was Zuriel, the son of Abihail.
Người lãnh đạo gia tộc Mê-ra-ri là Xu-ri-ên, con A-bi-hai: Họ phải cắm trại phía bắc Đền Tạm.
36 The work of the men of those two clans was to take care of the frames that held up the tent, the crossbars, the pillars, and the bases. They also did all the work that was connected with those items.
Người Mê-ra-ri được bổ nhiệm coi sóc các khung của Đền Tạm, các cây xà ngang, các cây cột, đế cột, cùng tất cả các vật dụng. Họ chịu trách nhiệm bảo quản những thứ đó
37 Their work was also to take care of the posts [that held up the curtains that formed the walls of] the courtyard, and all the bases, tent pegs, and ropes [that fastened those curtains].

38 Aaron and Moses/I and Aaron’s sons were told to set up their/our tents in the area in front of the Sacred Tent, on the east side. Their/Our work was to supervise the work that would be done in and around the Sacred Tent, for the benefit of the Israeli people. Only the priests were permitted to do that. [Yahweh declared that] we should execute anyone else who went near the tent [to do the work that the priests do].
Môi-se và A-rôn cùng các con trai người phải cắm trại ở phía đông Đền Tạm, về phía mặt trời mọc ngay trước Trại Hội Kiến. Họ phải chịu trách nhiệm coi sóc nơi thánh thay cho người Ít-ra-ên. Người nào xâm phạm đến gần nơi thánh sẽ bị xử tử.
39 When Aaron and Moses/I counted all the males who were at least one month old, who belonged to the clans descended from Levi, the total was 22,000.
Tổng số người Lê-vi được kiểm kê theo lệnh Chúa Hằng Hữu truyền cho Môi-se và A-rôn, chia theo từng họ hàng, tức là các con trai từ một tháng trở lên, được 22.000 người.
40 Then Yahweh said to Moses/me, “Now count all the [other] firstborn males in Israel who are at least one month old, and write down their names.
Chúa Hằng Hữu phán dạy Môi-se: “Con hãy kiểm kê tất cả con trai đầu lòng người Ít-ra-ên từ một tháng trở lên, và lập bảng danh sách.
41 Also, set apart for me the descendants of Levi to be substitutes for the firstborn males of the other Israelis. And set apart for me the livestock of the descendants of Levi to be substitutes for the firstborn livestock of the other Israeli people.”
Con hãy thu nhận cho Ta người Lê-vi thay cho tất cả con đầu lòng người Ít-ra-ên, và các bầy gia súc của người Lê-vi thay cho tất cả con đầu lòng của gia súc người Ít-ra-ên. Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu.”
42 So Moses/I did that. He/I counted the firstborn males of all the Israeli people, as Yahweh had commanded.
Như thế, Môi-se kiểm kê tất cả con đầu lòng của người Ít-ra-ên, như Chúa Hằng Hữu đã truyền bảo người.
43 The total of those who were at least one month old was 22,273.
Tổng số con trai đầu lòng liệt kê từng tên, được 22.273.
44 Then Yahweh said to Moses/me,
Chúa Hằng Hữu lại phán bảo Môi-se:
45 “Set apart the descendants of Levi to be substitutes for [the firstborn males of] the other Israeli people. The descendants of Levi belong to me, Yahweh.
“Con hãy thu nhận người Lê-vi thay cho tất cả con đầu lòng người Ít-ra-ên và gia súc của người Lê-vi thay cho gia súc của người Ít-ra-ên. Người Lê-vi sẽ thuộc về Ta; Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu.
46 There are 273 more firstborn males of the other Israeli people than of the descendants of Levi.
Về phần 273 con đầu lòng Ít-ra-ên là số trội hơn tổng số người Lê-vi,
47 To pay for these 273 males, collect five pieces of silver for each of them. Each of those pieces of silver must weigh the same as each of the silver coins that are stored in the Sacred Tent. Give this silver to Aaron and his sons.”
con hãy chuộc lại bằng cách thu mỗi người năm miếng bạc theo tiêu chuẩn cân đo trong nơi thánh.
Hãy giao số bạc chuộc các người Ít-ra-ên phụ trội đó cho A-rôn và các con trai người.”
49 So Moses/I did that. He/I collected the silver from those 273 males.
Như thế, Môi-se thu bạc chuộc của những người phụ trội đó.
50 The total was 1,365 pieces of silver. Each silver coin weighed the same as each of the silver coins stored in the Sacred Tent.
Môi-se thu được 15,5 ký bạc (theo tiêu chuẩn cân đo trong nơi thánh) của mỗi con đầu lòng người Ít-ra-ên.
51 Moses/I gave these silver coins to Aaron and his sons, as Yahweh had commanded.
Môi-se giao bạc chuộc đó cho A-rôn và các con trai người, đúng như lời Chúa Hằng Hữu đã truyền bảo mình.
