Numbers 3
1 These are some of the things that happened to Aaron and Moses/me when Yahweh spoke to Moses/me on Sinai Mountain.
Detta är berättelsen om Arons och Moses släkt, vid den tid då HERREN talade med Mose på Sinai berg.
2 Aaron’s four sons were Nadab the oldest, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
Dessa äro namnen på Arons söner: Nadab, den förstfödde, och Abihu, Eleasar och Itamar.
3 They were appointed [MTY] (OR, Moses/I appointed them) to be priests.
Dessa voro namnen på Arons söner, de smorda prästerna, som hade mottagit handfyllning till att vara präster.
4 But, while Yahweh was watching, Nadab and Abihu died in the Sinai Desert because they burned [incense] in a manner that was different from what Yahweh had commanded. They had no sons, so Eleazar and Ithamar were the [only] sons of Aaron who [were left to be] priests, along with their father Aaron.
Men Nadab och Abihu föllo döda ned inför HERRENS ansikte, när de framburo främmande eld inför HERRENS ansikte i Sinais öken; och de hade inga söner. Sedan voro Eleasar och Itamar präster under sin fader Aron.
5 Then Yahweh said to Moses/me,
Och HERREN talade till Mose och sade:
6 “Bring [the men of] the tribe of Levi and present them to Aaron, in order that they may assist him.
Levi stam skall du låta få tillträde hit; du skall låta dem stå inför prästen Aron för att betjäna honom.
7 They will serve Aaron and all the other Israeli people, while they do their work inside the Sacred Tent and outside it.
De skola iakttaga vad han har att iakttaga, och vad hela menigheten har att iakttaga, inför uppenbarelsetältet, i det att de förrätta tjänsten vid tabernaklet.
8 They must serve all the Israeli people by taking care of all the things that are inside the Sacred Tent.
Och de skola hava vården om alla uppenbarelsetältets tillbehör, och iakttaga vad Israels barn hava att iakttaga, i det att de förrätta tjänsten vid tabernaklet.
9 Appoint them to [help] Aaron and his two sons. I have chosen them from all the Israeli people to do that.
Alltså skall du giva leviterna åt Aron och hans söner; de skola vara honom givna såsom gåva av Israels barn.
10 Appoint Aaron and his two sons to do the work that priests do. But anyone else who comes close to the Sacred Tent [to do that work] must be executed.”
Men Aron och hans söner skall du anbefalla att iakttaga vad som hör till deras prästämbete. Om någon främmande kommer därvid, skall han dödas.
11 Yahweh also told Moses/me,
Och HERREN talade till Mose och sade:
12 “Note that from all the Israelis, I have chosen the men of the tribe of Levi to take the places of all the firstborn sons of the Israeli people. The male descendants of Levi belong to me,
Se, jag har själv bland Israels barn uttagit leviterna i stället för allt förstfött bland Israels barn, allt som öppnar moderlivet, så att leviterna skola tillhöra mig.
13 because truly all the firstborn [males] belong to me. That is because on the day that I killed all the firstborn [sons] of the people of Egypt, I [spared] all the firstborn [sons] of the Israelis and set them apart for myself. I also set apart the firstborn [males] of your domestic animals. They belong to me, Yahweh.”
Ty mig tillhör allt förstfött; på den dag då jag slog allt förstfött i Egyptens land helgade jag åt mig allt förstfött i Israel, såväl människor som boskap. Mig skola de tillhöra. Jag är HERREN.
14 Yahweh spoke to Moses/me again in the Sinai Desert. He said,
Och HERREN talade till Mose i Sinais öken och sade:
15 “Count the male members of the tribe of Levi. Write down their names and the names of their clans and family groups. Count all the males who are at least one month old.”
Mönstra Levi barn, efter deras familjer och efter deras släkter; alla av mankön som äro en månad gamla eller därutöver skall du inmönstra.
16 So Moses/I counted them, just as Yahweh commanded.
och Mose inmönstrade dem efter HERRENS befallning, såsom honom hade blivit bjudet.
17 Levi had [three] sons, whose names were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
Och dessa voro Levis söner, efter deras namn: Gerson, Kehat och Merari.
18 Gershon had [two] sons: Libni and Shimei. The clans that were descended from them had the same names as those [two] sons.
Och dessa voro namnen på Gersons söner, efter deras släkter: Libni och Simei.
19 Kohath had [four] sons: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. The clans that were descended from them had the same names as those [four] sons.
Och Kehats söner efter sina släkter voro Amram och Jishar, Hebron och Ussiel.
20 Merari had [two] sons: Mahli and Mushi. The clans that were descended from them had the same names as those [two] sons. Those are the clans that were descended from Levi.
Och Meraris söner efter sina släkter voro Maheli och Musi. Dessa voro leviternas släkter, efter deras familjer.
21 The two clans descended from Gershon are those that were descended from [his sons] Libni and Shimei.
Från Gerson härstammade libniternas släkt och simeiternas släkt; dessa voro gersoniternas släkter.
22 In those two clans there were 7,500 males who were at least one month old.
De av dem som inmönstrades, i det att man räknade alla dem av mankön som voro en månad gamla eller därutöver dessa inmönstrade utgjorde sju tusen fem hundra.
23 They were told to set up their tents on the west side of the Sacred Tent.
Gersoniternas släkter hade sitt läger bakom tabernaklet, västerut.
24 The leader of those two clans was Eliasaph, the son of Lael.
Och hövding för gersoniternas stamfamilj var Eljasaf, Laels son.
25 Their work was to take care of the Sacred Tent, including the coverings of the tent, the curtain at the entrance of the tent,
Och Gersons barn skulle vid uppenbarelsetältet hava vården om själva tabernaklet och dess täckelse, om dess överdrag och om förhänget för ingången till uppenbarelsetältet,
26 the (curtains/large pieces of cloth) that formed the walls around the courtyard that is around the tent and around the altar, the curtains that were at the entrance of the courtyard, and the ropes [for fastening the tent]. They also did all the work of taking care of the things outside the Sacred Tent.
vidare om förgårdens omhängen och om förhänget för ingången till förgården, som omgav tabernaklet och altaret, så ock om dess streck -- vad arbete nu kunde förekomma därvid.
27 The clans that were descended from Kohath were those descended from his four sons: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.
Från Kehat härstammade amramiternas släkt, jishariternas släkt hebroniternas släkt och ussieliternas släkt; dessa voro kehatiternas släkter.
28 In those four clans there were 8,600 males who were at least one month old. The work of the men of the clans was to take care of [the things that are inside] the Sacred Tent.
När man räknade alla dem av mankön som voro en månad gamla eller därutöver, utgjorde de åtta tusen sex hundra; dessa voro de som skulle hava vården om de heliga föremålen.
29 They set up their tents on the south side of the Sacred Tent.
Kehats barns släkter hade sitt läger vid sidan av tabernaklet, söderut.
30 The leader of those four clans was Elizaphan, the son of Uzziel.
Och hövding för de kehatitiska släkternas stamfamilj; var Elisafan, Ussiels son.
31 The work of the men of those clans was to take care of the sacred chest, the table [on which the priest put the sacred bread], the lampstand, the altars, all the items that the priest used in the Sacred Tent, and the curtain that is inside the tent. Their work was also to take care of the things inside the tent.
De skulle hava vården om arken, bordet, ljusstaken, altarna och de tillbehör till de heliga föremålen, som begagnades vid gudstjänsten, så ock om förhänget och om allt arbete därvid.
32 Aaron’s son Eleazar was the leader of all the male descendants of Levi. He supervised all the work that was done at the Sacred Tent.
Men överhövding över alla leviterna var Eleasar, prästen Arons son; han var förman för dem som skulle hava vården om de heliga föremålen.
33 The clans that were descended from Merari were those descended from [his sons] Mahli and Mushi.
Från Merari härstammade maheliternas släkt och musiternas släkt; dessa voro merariternas släkter.
34 In those two clans there were 6,200 males who were at least one month old.
Och de av dem som inmönstrades, i det att man räknade alla dem av mankön som voro en månad gamla eller därutöver, utgjorde sex tusen två hundra.
35 They were told to set up their tents on the north side of the Sacred Tent. The leader of those two clans was Zuriel, the son of Abihail.
Och hövding för de meraritiska släkternas stamfamilj var Suriel, Abihails son. De hade sitt läger vid sidan av tabernaklet, norrut.
36 The work of the men of those two clans was to take care of the frames that held up the tent, the crossbars, the pillars, and the bases. They also did all the work that was connected with those items.
Och Meraris barn fingo till åliggande att hava vården om bräderna till tabernaklet, om dess tvärstänger, stolpar och fotstycken och om alla dess tillbehör och om allt arbete därvid,
37 Their work was also to take care of the posts [that held up the curtains that formed the walls of] the courtyard, and all the bases, tent pegs, and ropes [that fastened those curtains].
så ock om stolparna till förgården runt omkring med deras fotstycken, deras pluggar och streck.
38 Aaron and Moses/I and Aaron’s sons were told to set up their/our tents in the area in front of the Sacred Tent, on the east side. Their/Our work was to supervise the work that would be done in and around the Sacred Tent, for the benefit of the Israeli people. Only the priests were permitted to do that. [Yahweh declared that] we should execute anyone else who went near the tent [to do the work that the priests do].
Men mitt för tabernaklet, på framsidan, mitt för uppenbarelsetältet, österut, hade Mose och Aron och hans söner sitt läger; dessa skulle iakttaga vad som var att iakttaga vid helgedomen, vad Israels barn hade att iakttaga; men om någon främmande kom därvid, skulle han dödas.
39 When Aaron and Moses/I counted all the males who were at least one month old, who belonged to the clans descended from Levi, the total was 22,000.
De inmönstrade av leviterna som Mose och Aron inmönstrade efter deras släkter, enligt HERRENS befallning, alla av mankön som voro en månad gamla eller därutöver, utgjorde tillsammans tjugutvå tusen.
40 Then Yahweh said to Moses/me, “Now count all the [other] firstborn males in Israel who are at least one month old, and write down their names.
Och HERREN sade till Mose: Mönstra allt förstfött av mankön bland Israels barn, alla som äro en månad gamla eller därutöver, och räkna antalet av deras namn.
41 Also, set apart for me the descendants of Levi to be substitutes for the firstborn males of the other Israelis. And set apart for me the livestock of the descendants of Levi to be substitutes for the firstborn livestock of the other Israeli people.”
Och tag ut åt mig -- ty jag är HERREN -- leviterna i stället för allt förstfött bland Israels barn, så ock leviternas boskap i stället för allt förstfött bland Israels barns boskap.
42 So Moses/I did that. He/I counted the firstborn males of all the Israeli people, as Yahweh had commanded.
Och Mose mönstrade allt förstfött bland Israels barn, såsom HERREN hade bjudit honom.
43 The total of those who were at least one month old was 22,273.
Och de förstfödde av mankön, vart namn räknat särskilt, de som voro en månad gamla eller därutöver, utgjorde, så många som inmönstrades, tillsammans tjugutvå tusen två hundra sjuttiotre.
44 Then Yahweh said to Moses/me,
Och HERREN talade till Mose och sade:
45 “Set apart the descendants of Levi to be substitutes for [the firstborn males of] the other Israeli people. The descendants of Levi belong to me, Yahweh.
Du skall uttaga leviterna i stället för allt förstfött bland Israels barn, så ock leviternas boskap i stället för dessas boskap; så att leviterna skola tillhöra mig. Jag är HERREN.
46 There are 273 more firstborn males of the other Israeli people than of the descendants of Levi.
Men till lösen för de två hundra sjuttiotre personer med vilka antalet av Israels barns förstfödde överstiger leviternas antal,
47 To pay for these 273 males, collect five pieces of silver for each of them. Each of those pieces of silver must weigh the same as each of the silver coins that are stored in the Sacred Tent. Give this silver to Aaron and his sons.”
skall du taga fem siklar för var person; du skall taga upp dessa efter helgedomssikelns vikt, sikeln räknad till tjugu gera.
Och du skall giva penningarna åt Aron och hans söner såsom lösen för de övertaliga bland folket.
49 So Moses/I did that. He/I collected the silver from those 273 males.
Och Mose tog lösesumman av dem som voro övertaliga, när man räknade dem som voro lösta genom leviterna.
50 The total was 1,365 pieces of silver. Each silver coin weighed the same as each of the silver coins stored in the Sacred Tent.
Av Israels barns förstfödde tog han penningarna, ett tusen tre hundra sextiofem siklar, efter helgedomssikelns vikt.
51 Moses/I gave these silver coins to Aaron and his sons, as Yahweh had commanded.
Och Mose gav lösesumman åt Aron och hans söner, efter HERRENS befallning, såsom HERREN hade bjudit Mose.
