Numbers 27
1 One day the five daughters of Zelophehad came [to Moses/me]. They were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
അനന്തരം യോസേഫിന്റെ മകനായ മനശ്ശെയുടെ കുടുംബങ്ങളിൽ മനശ്ശെയുടെ മകനായ മാഖീരിന്റെ മകനായ ഗിലെയാദിന്റെ മകനായ ഹേഫെരിന്റെ മകനായ സെലോഫഹാദിന്റെ പുത്രിമാർ അടുത്തുവന്നു. അവന്റെ പുത്രിമാർ മഹ്ലാ, നോവ, ഹോഗ്ല, മിൽക്കാ, തിർസാ എന്നിവരായിരുന്നു.
2 They came to the entrance of the Sacred Tent and stood in front of Eleazar, Moses/me, the tribal leaders, and many [EUP] other Israeli people.
അവർ സമാഗമനകൂടാരത്തിന്റെ വാതിൽക്കൽ മോശെയുടെയും എലെയാസാർപുരോഹിതന്റെയും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെയും സൎവ്വസഭയുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ നിന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാൽ:
3 They said, “Our father died [during the time that we were] in the desert, and he did not have any sons. But he was not among those who supported Korah, who rebelled against Yahweh. He died just because he was a sinner [like everyone else].
ഞങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പൻ മരുഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ചു മരിച്ചുപോയി; എന്നാൽ അവൻ യഹോവെക്കു വിരോധമായി കോരഹിനോടു കൂടിയവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ചേൎന്നിരുന്നില്ല; അവൻ സ്വന്തപാപത്താൽ അത്രേ മരിച്ചതു; അവന്നു പുത്രന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുമില്ല.
4 (Why should the name of his clan disappear [with the result that we do not receive any land] only because our father had no sons?/It is not right that the name of his clan disappear [with the result that we do not receive any land] only because our father had no sons.) [RHQ] So give us some land like our relatives will be getting!”
ഞങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പന്നു മകൻ ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ പേർ കുടുംബത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇല്ലാതെയാകുന്നതു എന്തു? അപ്പന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ഒരു അവകാശം തരേണം.
5 So Moses/I asked Yahweh [what to do about] their request.
മോശെ അവരുടെ കാൎയ്യം യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ വെച്ചു.
6 And Yahweh replied,
യഹോവ മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു:
7 “What the daughters of Zelophehad are requesting is right. You must give them some land, just as you are giving to their father’s relatives. Give to each of them some of the land that would have been given to their brothers [if they had any].
സെലോഫഹാദിന്റെ പുത്രിമാർ പറയുന്നതു ശരിതന്നേ; അവരുടെ അപ്പന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ അവൎക്കു ഒരു അവകാശം കൊടുക്കേണം; അവരുടെ അപ്പന്റെ അവകാശം അവൎക്കു കൊടുക്കേണം.
8 “Also tell this to the Israeli people: ‘If a man who has no sons dies, give the things that his sons would have inherited to his daughters.
നീ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: ഒരുത്തൻ മകനില്ലാതെ മരിച്ചാൽ അവന്റെ അവകാശം അവന്റെ മകൾക്കു കൊടുക്കേണം.
9 If the man has no sons or daughters, give to his brothers the things that his sons and daughters would have inherited.
അവന്നു മകൾ ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നാൽ അവന്റെ അവകാശം അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാൎക്കു കൊടുക്കേണം.
10 If the man had no brothers, give to his father’s brothers the things that his sons or daughters or brothers would have inherited.
അവന്നു സഹോദരന്മാർ ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നാൽ അവന്റെ അവകാശം അവന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാൎക്കു കൊടുക്കേണം.
11 If the man’s father has no brothers, give to his closest relative the things that the others would have inherited.’ That will be a rule for the Israeli people, because I am giving this as a command to you, Moses, [to tell them].”
അവന്റെ അപ്പന്നു സഹോദരന്മാർ ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ അവന്റെ കുടുംബത്തിൽ അവന്റെ അടുത്ത ചാൎച്ചക്കാരന്നു അവന്റെ അവകാശം കൊടുക്കേണം; അവൻ അതു കൈവശമാക്കേണം; ഇതു യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കു ന്യായപ്രമാണം ആയിരിക്കേണം.
12 One day, Yahweh said to Moses/me, “Climb to the top of the Abarim Mountains [east of the Jordan River]. Then look out over the land that I am giving to the Israeli people.
അനന്തരം യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതു: ഈ അബാരീംമലയിൽ കയറി ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കു കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശം നോക്കുക.
13 After you have seen it, you will die [EUP] just like your [older] brother Aaron did.
അതു കണ്ടശേഷം നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അഹരോനെപ്പോലെ നീയും നിന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേരും.
14 The reason [that you will die and not enter that land] is that you both disobeyed my instructions/commands in the Zin Desert. When the Israeli people rebelled against me there at Meribah, near Kadesh, [I told you to speak to the rock to cause] water to flow out of it. [But because you struck the rock instead of speaking to it], you did not show the people my holy power.”
സഭയുടെ കലഹത്തിങ്കൽ നിങ്ങൾ സീൻമരുഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ചു അവർ കാൺകെ വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ കാൎയ്യത്തിൽ എന്നെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കാതെ എന്റെ കല്പനയെ മറുത്തതുകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ. സീൻമരുഭൂമിയിൽ കാദേശിലെ കലഹജലം അതു തന്നേ.
15 Then Moses/I said this to Yahweh:
അപ്പോൾ മോശെ യഹോവയോടു:
16 “Yahweh, you are the God who directs the spirits of all people. So please appoint a new leader for the Israeli people.
യഹോവയുടെ സഭ ഇടയനില്ലാത്ത ആടുകളെപ്പോലെ ആകാതിരിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അവൎക്കു മുമ്പായി പോകുവാനും അവൎക്കു മുമ്പായി വരുവാനും അവരെ പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോകുവാനും
17 Appoint someone who will lead your people when they go to fight a battle, so that they will not [just wander around] like sheep that do not have a shepherd.” [SIM]
അകത്തുകൊണ്ടു വരുവാനും സകലജഡത്തിന്റെയും ആത്മാക്കളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ സഭയുടെമേൽ ഒരാളെ നിയമിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
18 Yahweh replied, “Get Joshua, the son of Nun, who has my Spirit within him. Lay your hands on him [to appoint him].
യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതു: എന്റെ ആത്മാവുള്ള പുരുഷനായി നൂന്റെ മകനായ യോശുവയെ വിളിച്ചു അവന്റെ മേൽ കൈവെച്ചു
19 Cause him to stand in front of Eleazar the priest, as all the people are watching, and commission/appoint him to be the new leader of the Israeli people.
അവനെ പുരോഹിതനായ എലെയാസാരിന്റെയും സൎവ്വസഭയുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ നിൎത്തി അവർ കാൺകെ അവന്നു ആജ്ഞ കൊടുക്ക.
20 Give to him some of the authority that you now have, in order that all the Israeli people will [know that they must] obey him.
യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സഭയെല്ലാം അനുസരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ മഹിമയിൽ ഒരംശം അവന്റെ മേൽ വെക്കേണം.
21 When you all need me to guide you, Joshua will stand in front of Eleazar. Then by (casting lots/throwing marked stones on the ground) Eleazar will find out what they should do.”
അവൻ പുരോഹിതനായ എലെയാസാരിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നില്ക്കേണം; അവൻ അവന്നുവേണ്ടി യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ഊരീംമുഖാന്തരം അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിക്കേണം; അവനും യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സൎവ്വസഭയും അവന്റെ വാക്കുപ്രകാരം പോകയും അവന്റെ വാക്കുപ്രകാരം വരികയും വേണം.
22 So Moses/I did what Yahweh commanded. He/I presented Joshua to Eleazar and to all the Israeli people.
യഹോവ തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ മോശെ ചെയ്തു; അവൻ യോശുവയെ വിളിച്ചു പുരോഹിതനായ എലെയാസാരിന്റെയും സൎവ്വസഭയുടെയു മുമ്പാകെ നിൎത്തി.
23 Moses/I laid his/my hands on him and commissioned/appointed him to do the work that Yahweh told Moses/me to tell him to do.
അവന്റെമേൽ കൈവെച്ചു യഹോവ മോശെമുഖാന്തരം കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവന്നു ആജ്ഞ കൊടുത്തു.
