< Numbers 27 >

1 One day the five daughters of Zelophehad came [to Moses/me]. They were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
Joseph chate Manasseh chilhah ho Zelophat chateho Hepher chate Gilead chateho, Makhir chate chule achanu teuho min hou jouse chu mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah chule Tirzah ahiuve amaho jouse ahung khomsoh keiyun ahi.
2 They came to the entrance of the Sacred Tent and stood in front of Eleazar, Moses/me, the tribal leaders, and many [EUP] other Israeli people.
Chuin amaho chu Mose masang, Eleazer thempu masang, chuleh Japi lamkai ho masanga houbuh leitol ah ading un ahi.
3 They said, “Our father died [during the time that we were] in the desert, and he did not have any sons. But he was not among those who supported Korah, who rebelled against Yahweh. He died just because he was a sinner [like everyone else].
Kapu teuchu gamthip lah a ahinkhou ana beitan, Korah mite lah a khat pen chu ana hi pon amachu mi holah a Pathen lungdei lou bol ho khat chu ahin amavang ama chonset jal'a ahinkho beija ahitai chule chapa neilou ahiye.
4 (Why should the name of his clan disappear [with the result that we do not receive any land] only because our father had no sons?/It is not right that the name of his clan disappear [with the result that we do not receive any land] only because our father had no sons.) [RHQ] So give us some land like our relatives will be getting!”
Epijeh a kapateu min chu aphung sung uva kon mang jeng ding ham chapa aneilou jeh mei a? Chanvou neilegou ka insung mite dang ho a tabong neipiu vin ati.
5 So Moses/I asked Yahweh [what to do about] their request.
Hichun Mose’n amaho thule la boina chu Pathen masanga apolut tan ahi.
6 And Yahweh replied,
Chuin PakaiyinMose hitin ahin donbut in ahi.
7 “What the daughters of Zelophehad are requesting is right. You must give them some land, just as you are giving to their father’s relatives. Give to each of them some of the land that would have been given to their brothers [if they had any].
Zelophehad chanute kiphin ahi ding mong tah ahiye. Mose nangman amaho neile gou apaho sopite ho lah a ding’a hin napeh tei angaiye chule apate ho chan vou ding u chu na peh teidiu ahi, ati.
8 “Also tell this to the Israeli people: ‘If a man who has no sons dies, give the things that his sons would have inherited to his daughters.
Israel mite chu sei pih tan, pasal khat chu ahinkho abeiya chule chapa neilouva aum tah a ahile anei le agou jouse chu achanute chang ding ahi.
9 If the man has no sons or daughters, give to his brothers the things that his sons and daughters would have inherited.
Amapa chun chanu anei tah hih le anei le agou hou chu asopite na peh ding ahi tai.
10 If the man had no brothers, give to his father’s brothers the things that his sons or daughters or brothers would have inherited.
Israel mikhat chu athi tah a sopi aneitah lou leh achan vou aneile agou chu apa sopite ho napeh ding ahiye.
11 If the man’s father has no brothers, give to his closest relative the things that the others would have inherited.’ That will be a rule for the Israeli people, because I am giving this as a command to you, Moses, [to tell them].”
Israel mipa chu apateho asopiteho aum tah louleh aphung sunga akinai pipen chu napeh ding ahi.
12 One day, Yahweh said to Moses/me, “Climb to the top of the Abarim Mountains [east of the Jordan River]. Then look out over the land that I am giving to the Israeli people.
Nikhat Pathen in Mose komah asei in, “Nisolam vadung kom a molchung khat pen ah kel tou inlang chule keiman Israel te kapeh nading gamsung khu gah vetem in ati.
13 After you have seen it, you will die [EUP] just like your [older] brother Aaron did.
Nangma in natahsa tah a namu teng nangma jong nasoopipa Aaron bonga nathi ding ahitai,
14 The reason [that you will die and not enter that land] is that you both disobeyed my instructions/commands in the Zin Desert. When the Israeli people rebelled against me there at Meribah, near Kadesh, [I told you to speak to the rock to cause] water to flow out of it. [But because you struck the rock instead of speaking to it], you did not show the people my holy power.”
Ajeh chu mipite ho gamthip lah Zin’a akiphin laitah un keiman kathendol amaho kom a twichungah phongjel lhonin kati chu nangnin keima doumah joh in nachon lhon tan ahi. (Hichehi Kadesh kiti Zin gammang a Meribah twi chu ahi).
15 Then Moses/I said this to Yahweh:
Chuin Mose’n Pakai henga hiti hin aseijin ahi.
16 “Yahweh, you are the God who directs the spirits of all people. So please appoint a new leader for the Israeli people.
Pakaiyin vannoiya lhangho jouse mi jouse pasal jouse chunga vaihom ding lheng doh tahen, ati.
17 Appoint someone who will lead your people when they go to fight a battle, so that they will not [just wander around] like sheep that do not have a shepherd.” [SIM]
Amaho lah a konna hungpot doh ding amaho lah a gamsung lutthei hiding koitabang amaho lah a konna hin puidoh theiya hin nung lhunsah kit thei hiding Pathen mipi te, hijeh achu kelngoi aching umlou bang nga a umlou nadiu ahi.
18 Yahweh replied, “Get Joshua, the son of Nun, who has my Spirit within him. Lay your hands on him [to appoint him].
Chu in PakaiyinMose aki houlimpi tan Joshua kiti Nun chapa lhagao neisa pahi nangman heng a kou inlang achungah nakhut ngam in atie.
19 Cause him to stand in front of Eleazar the priest, as all the people are watching, and commission/appoint him to be the new leader of the Israeli people.
Eleazer thempu pa leh mipi jouse masangah dinsah inlang chuleh mipi jouse het in amachu mipite puihoi din thupeh nei in.
20 Give to him some of the authority that you now have, in order that all the Israeli people will [know that they must] obey him.
Chule Joshua chu nangman thanei nachu napeh ding hiche jeh achu Israel mipi te lah a thuneina anei thei nading ahi.
21 When you all need me to guide you, Joshua will stand in front of Eleazar. Then by (casting lots/throwing marked stones on the ground) Eleazar will find out what they should do.”
Eleazer thempu pa masang a ding ding chule Pathen lam gel doh jing a aum na laiya Urim thutanna umna ahin, amapa thupeh dungjuiya potdoh diu chule amapa thuneina a hung sung lha diu Joshua le Israel mipi jouse umkhom diu ahi.
22 So Moses/I did what Yahweh commanded. He/I presented Joshua to Eleazar and to all the Israeli people.
Hichun Mose’n jong Pathen thupeh dungjui in abollin hichun Mose’n Joshua chu Eleazer thempu pa masang leh Israel mipite masangah adinsah tan ahi.
23 Moses/I laid his/my hands on him and commissioned/appointed him to do the work that Yahweh told Moses/me to tell him to do.
Chule Mose’n akhut chu Joshua chunga angam in phatthei abohtan Pathen nin aphatsah a thu apeh bangtah in aboltan ahi.
