Numbers 27
1 One day the five daughters of Zelophehad came [to Moses/me]. They were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
Unya miadto kang Moises ang mga anak nga babaye ni Selofehad nga anak nga lalaki ni Hepher nga anak nga lalaki ni Gilead nga anak nga lalaki ni Makir nga anak nga lalaki ni Manases, sa kabanayan ni Manases nga anak nga lalaki ni Jose. Mao kini ang mga ngalan sa iyang mga anak nga babaye: Si Mahla, Noah, Hegla, Milca ug Tirsa.
2 They came to the entrance of the Sacred Tent and stood in front of Eleazar, Moses/me, the tribal leaders, and many [EUP] other Israeli people.
Mitindog sila sa atubangan ni Moises, ni Eleazar nga pari, sa mga pangulo, ug sa atubangan sa tanang katilingban didto sa pultahan sa tolda nga tigomanan. Miingon sila,
3 They said, “Our father died [during the time that we were] in the desert, and he did not have any sons. But he was not among those who supported Korah, who rebelled against Yahweh. He died just because he was a sinner [like everyone else].
“Namatay ang among amahan didto sa kamingawan. Dili siya kauban niadtong nagkatigom batok kang Yahweh nga kauban ni Kora. Namatay siya sa iyang kaugalingong sala, ug wala siyay mga anak nga lalaki.
4 (Why should the name of his clan disappear [with the result that we do not receive any land] only because our father had no sons?/It is not right that the name of his clan disappear [with the result that we do not receive any land] only because our father had no sons.) [RHQ] So give us some land like our relatives will be getting!”
Nganong kinahanglan man kuhaon ang ngalan sa among amahan gikan sa mga sakop sa iyang banay tungod kay wala siyay anak nga lalaki? Tagai kami ug yuta didto sa kaparyentihan sa among amahan.”
5 So Moses/I asked Yahweh [what to do about] their request.
Busa gidala ni Moises kang Yahweh ang ilang suliran.
6 And Yahweh replied,
Nakigsulti si Yahweh kang Moises ug miingon,
7 “What the daughters of Zelophehad are requesting is right. You must give them some land, just as you are giving to their father’s relatives. Give to each of them some of the land that would have been given to their brothers [if they had any].
“Tinuod ang gipanulti sa mga anak nga babaye ni Selofehad. Kinahanglan nga ihatag nimo kanila ang yuta isip panulondon nga anaa sa kaparyentihan sa ilahang amahan, ug kinahanglan nimong sigurohon nga mahatag kini nga panulondon kanila.
8 “Also tell this to the Israeli people: ‘If a man who has no sons dies, give the things that his sons would have inherited to his daughters.
Kinahanglan nga makigsulti ka sa katawhan sa Israel ug ingna sila, 'Kung mamatay ang usa ka lalaki ug wala siyay anak nga lalaki, kinahanglan nga ihatag nimo ang iyang panulondon ngadto sa iyang mga anak nga babaye.
9 If the man has no sons or daughters, give to his brothers the things that his sons and daughters would have inherited.
Kung wala siyay anak nga babaye, kinahanglan nimong ihatag ang iyang panulondon ngadto sa iyang igsoon nga mga lalaki.
10 If the man had no brothers, give to his father’s brothers the things that his sons or daughters or brothers would have inherited.
Kung wala siyay mga igsoong lalaki, kinahanglan nga imong ihatag ang iyang panulondon didto sa igsoong lalaki sa iyang amahan.
11 If the man’s father has no brothers, give to his closest relative the things that the others would have inherited.’ That will be a rule for the Israeli people, because I am giving this as a command to you, Moses, [to tell them].”
Kung walay igsoong lalaki ang iyang amahan, kinahanglan nimong ihatag ang iyang panulondon ngadto sa pinakaduol nga paryente sa iyang banay, ug kinahanglan nga iya kining kuhaon alang sa iyang kaugalingon. Mahimo na kining balaod nga gitukod pinaagi sa kasugoan alang sa katawhan sa Israel, sumala sa gimando ni Yahweh kanako.'”
12 One day, Yahweh said to Moses/me, “Climb to the top of the Abarim Mountains [east of the Jordan River]. Then look out over the land that I am giving to the Israeli people.
Miingon si Yahweh kang Moises, “Tungas sa kabukiran sa Abiram ug tan-awa ang yuta nga akong gihatag sa katawhan sa Israel.
13 After you have seen it, you will die [EUP] just like your [older] brother Aaron did.
Human nimo kini hikit-i, ikaw usab kinahanglan makig-uban sa imong katawhan, sama sa imong igsoong lalaki nga si Aaron.
14 The reason [that you will die and not enter that land] is that you both disobeyed my instructions/commands in the Zin Desert. When the Israeli people rebelled against me there at Meribah, near Kadesh, [I told you to speak to the rock to cause] water to flow out of it. [But because you struck the rock instead of speaking to it], you did not show the people my holy power.”
Mahitabo kini tungod kay misupak kamong duha sa akong gimando didto sa kamingawan sa Sin. Didto, sa dihang miagas ang tubig gikan sa bato, sa imong kasuko wala ikaw makahimo sa pagtahod kanako isip balaan atubangan sa tanang katilingban.” Mao kini ang katubigan sa Meriba sa Kades didto sa kamingawan sa Sin.
15 Then Moses/I said this to Yahweh:
Unya nakigsulti si Moises kang Yahweh ug miingon,
16 “Yahweh, you are the God who directs the spirits of all people. So please appoint a new leader for the Israeli people.
“Hinaot unta nga ikaw, Yahweh, ang Dios sa mga espiritu sa tanang katawhan, maoy magtudlo ug tawo nga sa labaw katilingban,
17 Appoint someone who will lead your people when they go to fight a battle, so that they will not [just wander around] like sheep that do not have a shepherd.” [SIM]
tawo nga makahimo sa paggawas ug pagsulod ngadto kanila ug makapangulo kanila paggawas ug makapasulod kanila, aron nga dili mahimong sama sa karnero nga walay magbalantay ang imong katilingban”
18 Yahweh replied, “Get Joshua, the son of Nun, who has my Spirit within him. Lay your hands on him [to appoint him].
Miingon si Yahweh kang Moises, “Kuhaa si Josue nga anak ni Nun, ang tawo nga gipuy-an sa akong Espiritu, ug itapion ang imong kamot kaniya.
19 Cause him to stand in front of Eleazar the priest, as all the people are watching, and commission/appoint him to be the new leader of the Israeli people.
Ibutang siya tupad kang Eleazar nga pari ug sa atubangan sa tanang katilingban, ug sugoa siya nga mangulo kanila atubangan sa ilang mga mata.
20 Give to him some of the authority that you now have, in order that all the Israeli people will [know that they must] obey him.
Kinahanglan nga ihatag nimo kaniya ang pipila sa imong mga katungod, aron nga tumanon siya sa mga katawhan sa Israel.
21 When you all need me to guide you, Joshua will stand in front of Eleazar. Then by (casting lots/throwing marked stones on the ground) Eleazar will find out what they should do.”
Moadto siya sa atubangan ni Eleazar nga pari aron sa pagpangita sa akong kabubot-on alang kaniya pinaagi sa pagbuot sa Urim. Pinaagi lamang sa iyang mando nga makagawas o makasulod ang katawhan, siya ug ang tanang katawhan sa Israel uban kaniya, ang tanang katilingban.”
22 So Moses/I did what Yahweh commanded. He/I presented Joshua to Eleazar and to all the Israeli people.
Busa gihimo ni Moises ang gimando ni Yahweh kaniya. Iyang gikuha si Josue ug gibutang siya sa atubangan ni Eleazar nga pari ug sa tanang katilingban.
23 Moses/I laid his/my hands on him and commissioned/appointed him to do the work that Yahweh told Moses/me to tell him to do.
Gitapion niya ang iyang kamot kaniya ug gisugo siya sa pagpangulo, sumala sa gimando ni Yahweh kaniya nga iyang buhaton.
