< Numbers 2 >

1 Then Yahweh said this to Aaron and Moses/me:
OLELO mai la o Iehova ia Mose a ia Aarona, i mai la,
2 “When the Israelis set up their tents, they should set them up in areas that surround the Sacred Tent, but not close to it. The people of each tribe must set up their tents in a different area. Each tribe must erect in that area a banner of their own clan and a flag that represents their tribe.
3 The people of the tribes of Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun must set up their tents on the east side of the Sacred Tent, close to their tribal flags. These are the names of the leaders of those tribes and the number of soldiers whom they will lead: Nahshon, the son of Amminadab, will be the leader of the 74,600 men of the tribe of Judah.
4
A o kona poe kaua, a o na mea o lakou i heluia, he kanahikukumamaha tausani, me na haneri ken eono.
5 Nethanel, the son of Zuar, will be the leader of the 54,500 men of the tribe of Issachar.
A o ka poe e noho kokoke ia ia, oia ka ohana a Isakara; a o Netaneela ke keiki a Zuara, oia ka luna o na mamo a Isakara.
6
A o kona poe kaua, a o ka poe o lakou i heluia, he kanalimakumamaha tausani, me na haneri keu eha.
7 Eliab, the son of Helon, will be the leader of the 57,400 men of the tribe of Zebulun.
O ka ohana hoi a Zebuluna; a o ka luna o na mamo a Zebuluna, oia o Eliaba ke keiki a Helona.
8
A o kona poe kana, a o ka poe o lakou i heluia, he kanalimakumamahiku tausani, a me na haneri keu eha.
9 So there will be 86,400 troops on the east side [of the Sacred Tent]. Whenever the Israelis move to a new location, those three tribes must go in front of the others.
O na mea a pau i heluia, ma kahi hoomoana o ka Iuda, hookahi ia haneri a me kanawalukumamaono tausani, a me na haneri keu eha, ma ko lakou poe kaua; o keia poe ke hele mamua.
10 The tribes of Reuben, Simeon, and Gad must set up their tents on the south side of the Sacred Tent, close to their tribal flags. These are the names of the leaders of those tribes and the number of men whom they will lead: Elizur, the son of Shedeur, will be the leader of the 46,500 men of the tribe of Reuben.
A o kona poe kaua, a o na mea o lakou i heluia, he kanahakumamaono tausani, a me na haneri elima.
12 Shelumiel, the son of Zurishaddai, will be the leader of the 59,300 men of the tribe of Simeon.
A o ka poe e noho kokoke ia ia, o ka ohana a Simeona: a o ka luna o na mamo a Simeona, oia o Selumiela ke keiki a Zurisadai.
A o kona poe kaua, a o na mea o lakou i heluia, he kanalimakumamaiwa tausani, me na haneri keu ekolu.
14 Eliasaph, the son of Deuel, will be the leader of the 45,650 men of the tribe of Gad.
Alaila o ka ohana a Gada; a o Eliasapa ke keiki a Reuela, oia ka luna o na mamo a Gada.
A o kona poe kaua, a o na mea o lakou i heluia, he kanahakumamalima tausani me na haneri eono, a me ke kanalima.
16 So there will be 151,450 troops on the south side of the Sacred Tent. Those three tribes will follow the first group [when the Israelis travel].
O ka poe a pau i heluia ma kahi hoomoana o ka Reubena, hookahi ia haneri me kanalimakumamakahi tausani, eha haneri a me kanalima keu, ma ko lakou poe kaua: a o lakou ke hele ma ka lua o ka huakai.
17 Behind that group will walk the descendants of Levi, who will carry the Sacred Tent. The Israelis will march in the same order that they always set up their tents. Each tribe will carry its own flag.
Alaila e neenee aku ka halelowa o ke anaina, me ka poo hoomoana o na Levi, iwaenakonu o ka poe hoomoana: e like me ko lakou hoomoana ana, pela no lakou e neenee aku ai, o kela kanaka keia kanaka ma kona wahi ma ko lakou hae.
18 The tribes of Ephraim, Manasseh, and Benjamin must set up their tents on the west side of the Sacred Tent, close to their tribal flags. These are the names of the leaders of those tribes and number of men whom they will lead: Elishama, the son of Ammihud, will be the leader of the 40,500 men of the tribe of Ephraim.
A o kona poe kaua, a me na mea o lakou i heluia, he kanaha tausani a me na haneri keu elima.
20 Gamaliel, the son of Pedahzur, will be the leader of the 32,200 men of the tribe of Manasseh.
A e pili ia ia ka ohana a Manage: a o ka luna o na mamo a Manase, oia o Gamaliela ke keiki a Pedazura.
A o kona poe kaua, a me na mea o lakou i heluia, he kanakolukumamalua tausani a me na haneri keu elua.
22 Abidan, the son of Gideoni, will be the leader of the 35,400 men of the tribe of Benjamin.
Alaila o ka ohana a Beniamina: a o ka luna o na mamo a Beniamina, oia o Abidana ke keiki a Gideoni.
A o kona poe kaua, a me ka poe o lakou i heluia, he kanakolukumamalima tausani a me na haneri ken eha.
24 So there will be 108,100 troops on the west side of the Sacred Tent. Those three tribes will follow the second group, [behind the descendants of Levi].
O ka poe a pau i heluia no kahi hoomoana o ka Eperaima, hookahi ia haneri me kumamawalu tausani me ka haneri hookahi, ma ko lakou mau poe kaua: a e hele aku hoi lakou ma ke kolu o ka huakai.
25 The tribes of Dan, Asher, and Naphtali must set up their tents on the north side of the Sacred Tent, close to their tribal flags. These are the names of the leaders of those tribes and the number of men whom they will lead: Ahiezer, the son of Ammishaddai, will be the leader of the 62,700 men of the tribe of Dan.
A o kona poe kaua, a o na mea o lakou i heluia, he kanaonokumamalua tausani me na haneri keu ehiku.
27 Pagiel, the son of Ocran, will be the leader of the 41,500 men of the tribe of Asher.
A o ka poe hoomoana me ia, oia ka ohana a Asera: a o ka luna o na mamo a Asera, oia o Pagiela ke keiki a Okerana.
O kona poe kaua, a me na mea o lakou i heluia, he kanahakumamakahi tausani a me na haneri keu elima.
29 Ahira, the son of Enan, will be the leader of the 53,400 men of the tribe of Naphtali.
Alaila ka ohana a Napetali: a o ka luna o na mamo a Napetali, oia o Ahira ke keiki a Enana.
O kona poe kaua, a me na mea o lakou i heluia, he kanalimakumamakolu tausani a me na haneri keu eha.
31 So there will be 157,600 troops on the north side of the Sacred Tent. Those three tribes will be last. They must carry their own flags when the Israelis travel.”
O ka poe a pau i heluia ma kahi hoomoana o Dana, hookahi haneri me kanalimakumamahiku tausani a me na haneri keu eono: a o lakou nei ke hele mahope me ko lakou mau hae.
32 So there were 603,550 Israeli men who were able to fight who were listed according to their families’ ancestors.
O keia ka poe i heluia o na mamo a Iseraela, ma ko ka hale o ko lakou poe kupuna: o na mea a pau i heluia o na wahi hoomoana, ma ko lakou mau poe kaua, he aono haneri me ke kumamakolu tausani, me na haneri keu elima a me ke kanalima.
33 But just as Yahweh had commanded, the names of the descendants of Levi were not included.
Aka, aole i heluia na Levi me na mamo a Iseraela; e like me ka Iehova i kauoha mai ai ia Mose.
34 The Israelis did everything that Yahweh had told Moses/me. They set up their tents close to their tribal flags, and when they traveled [to a new location, they walked] with their own clans and family groups.
A hana iho la na mamo a Iseraela e like me na mea a pau a Iehova i kauoha mai ai ia Mose: pela lakou i hoomoana ai ma ko lakou mau hae, a pela hoi lakou i hele aku ai, o kela mea keia mea mamu tili o ko lakou mau ohana, e like me ko ka hale o ko lakou poe kupuna.
