< Numbers 17 >

1 Then Yahweh said to Moses/me,
Nagsao ni Yahweh kenni Moises. Kinunana,
2 “Tell the Israeli people to bring to you twelve walking sticks. They should bring one from each of the leaders of the twelve tribes. You should carve each leader’s name on his stick.
“Agsaoka kadagiti tattao ti Israel. Mangalaka kadagiti sarukod manipud kadakuada, maysa iti tunggal tribu dagiti kapuonan. Mangalaka iti sangapulo ket dua a sarukod, maysa iti tunggal mangidadaulo iti tunggal tribu. Isuratmo ti nagan ti tunggal tao iti sarukodna.
3 There must be one stick for the leader of each tribe, so you must carve Aaron’s name on the stick for the tribe of Levi.
Masapul nga isuratmo ti nagan ni Aaron iti sarukod ni Levi. Masapul nga adda maysa a sarukod iti tunggal mangidadaulo manipud iti tribu ti kapuonanna.
4 Put those sticks inside the Sacred Tent, in front of the sacred chest that has in it the tablets on which the Ten Commandments are written. That is the place where I always talk with you.
Masapul nga ikabilmo dagiti sarukod iti tabernakulo iti sangoanan ti pammaneknek ti tulag, a pakisarakak kenka.
5 Buds will sprout on the stick of the man whom I have chosen [to be the priest]. [When the people see that], they will stop their constantly complaining about you [because they will realize that you are the one whom I have chosen].”
Agsaringitto ti sarukod ti mapilik a tao. Pagsardengekto dagiti reklamo dagiti tattao ti Israel nga ibagbagada a maibusor kadakayo.”
6 So Moses/I told the people what Yahweh had said. Then each of the twelve Israeli leaders, including Aaron, brought his walking stick to Moses/me.
Nagsao ni Moises kadagiti tattao ti Israel. Amin dagiti mangidadaulo ti tribu ket nangted kadagiti sarukod kenkuana, maysa a sarukod manipud iti tunggal mangidadaulo, a napili manipud iti tunggal tribu ti kapuonan, sangapulo ket dua amin a sarukod. Maysa kadagitoy ti sarukod ni Aaron.
7 Moses/I placed the sticks inside the Sacred Tent in front of the sacred chest.
Ket inkabil ni Moises dagiti sarukod iti sangoanan ni Yahweh iti tolda ti pammaneknek ti tulag.
8 The following morning, when he/I went into the tent, he/I saw that Aaron’s stick, which represented the tribe of Levi, had sprouted, it had produced leaves and blossoms, and it had also produced almonds that were ripe!
Iti simmaruno nga aldaw, napan ni Moises iti tolda ti pammaneknek iti tulag ket pagammoan, nagsaringit ti sarukod ni Aaron iti tribu ni Levi. Dimmakkel dagiti saringitna, nagsabong ken nagbunga iti naluom nga almendras!
9 Moses/I brought all the sticks out of the Sacred Tent and showed them to the people. Each of the twelve leaders took back his own stick.
Innala ni Moises dagiti sarukod manipud iti sangoanan ni Yahweh ket imparangna kadagiti tattao ti Israel. Nasarakan ti tunggal maysa ti sarukodna ket innalana daytoy.
10 Then Yahweh said to Moses/me, “Put Aaron’s stick in front of the sacred chest, and let it stay there permanently. That will be a warning to people who want to rebel [against me]. Then no more people will die [because of complaining against me].”
Kinuna ni Yahweh kenni Moises, “Ikabilmo ti sarukod ni Aaron iti sangoanan ti pammaneknek iti tulag. Maidulin daytoy a kas pagilasinan ti basol a maibusor kadagiti tattao a nagsukir tapno agpatinggan dagiti panagsasaoda iti maibusor kaniak, ta no saan mataydanto.
11 So Moses/I did what Yahweh had commanded.
Inaramid ni Moises ti imbilin ni Yahweh kenkuana.
12 Then the Israeli people said to Moses/me, “We are going to die! All of us are surely going to die!
Nagsao dagiti tattao ti Israel kenni Moises ket kinunada, “Mataykaminto ditoy. Mapukawkaminto amin!
13 Everyone who comes close to Yahweh’s Sacred Tent dies. Are the rest of us going to die, also?” [RHQ]
Amin nga umay, matayto amin nga umasideg iti tabernakulo ni Yahweh. Rumbeng kadi a mapukawtayo amin?
