Nehemiah 7
1 After the wall had been finished and we had put the gates in their places, we assigned to the temple guards and to the members of the [sacred] choir and the other descendants of Levi the work that they were to do.
А като се съгради стената и поставих вратите, и определиха се вратарите, певците и левитите,
2 I appointed two men to [help me to] govern Jerusalem, my brother Hanani and Hananiah who was the commander of the fortress [in Jerusalem]. Hananiah always did his work reliably, and he revered God more than most other people do.
предадох Ерусалим под грижата на брата си Анания и на началника на крепостта Анания; защото беше верен човек и боеше се от Бога повече от мнозина.
3 I said to them, “Do not open the gates of Jerusalem until late each morning. And close the gates and put the bars across the doors [(late in each afternoon/before sunset)] while the gatekeepers are still guarding the gates.” I also told them to appoint some people who lived in Jerusalem to be guards [on the wall], and to assign some of them to be guards at certain other places and to assign others to guard the area close to their own houses.
И рекох им: Да се не отварят ерусалимските порти преди да припече слънцето; и вратите да остават заключени и залостени до тогаз, до когато не стоят стражите да пазят при тях; и поставете стражи из ерусалимските жители, всеки на стража си, всеки срещу къщата си.
4 The city [of Jerusalem] covered a large area, but [at that time] not many people lived in the city, and they had not built many new houses yet [HYP].
А градът бе широк и голям, и людете в него малцина, и нямаше къщи построени.
5 [To defend the city, we needed more people there.] Then God gave me the idea to summon the leaders and officials and [other] people, and to look in the books [in which were written the names] of all the people and their clans. So I found the records of the people who had first returned from Babylonia. This is what I found written in those records:
И моят Бог тури в сърцето ми да събера благородните, по-първите човеци и людете, за да бъдат изброени по родословие. И намерих книгата на родословието на ония, които възлязоха най-напред намерих и писано в нея:
6 (This is a list/Here are the names) of the people who returned to Jerusalem and to other places in Judea. They had been living in Babylonia since King Nebuchadnezzar’s army had captured their relatives/ancestors and took them to Babylonia. But they had returned to Judea and were living in the towns [where their ancestors had lived].
Ето човеците на Вавилонската област, които възлязоха от плена на закараните, които вавилонският цар Навуходоносор бе преселил, и който се върнаха в Ерусалим и в Юда, всеки в града си,
7 Their leaders were Zerubbabel, Joshua, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah, and me. This is a list of the number of men in each clan who returned:
които дойдоха с Зоровавела, Исуса, Неемия, Азария, Раамия, Наамания, Мардохея, Валасана, Мисиерета, Вагуя, Наума, и Ваана. Числото на мъжете от Израилевите люде беше следното:
8 2,172 men from the clan of Parosh;
Фаросови потомци, две хиляди и сто и седемдесет и двама души.
9 372 men from the clan of Shephatiah;
Сефатиеви потомци, триста и седемдесет и двама души.
10 652 men from the clan of Arah;
Арахови потомци, шестстотин и петдесет и двама души.
11 2,818 men from the clan of Pahath-Moab, who are descendants of Jeshua and Joab;
Фаат-моавови потомци, от Исусовите и Иоавовите потомци, две хиляди и осемстотин и осемнадесет души.
12 1,254 men from the clan of Elam;
Еламови потомци, хиляда и двеста и петдесет и четири души.
13 845 men from the clan of Zattu;
Затуеви потомци, осемстотин и четиридесет и пет души.
14 760 men from the clan of Zaccai;
Закхееви потомци, седемстотин и шестнадесет души.
15 648 men from the clan of Bani (OR, Binnui);
Вануеви потомци, шестстотин и четиридесет и осем души.
16 628 men from the clan of Bebai;
Виваеви потомци, шестстотин и двадесет и осем души.
17 2,322 men from the clan of Azgad;
Азгадови потомци, две хиляди и триста и двадесет и двама души.
18 667 men from the clan of Adonikam;
Адоникамови потомци, шестстотин и шестдесет и седем души.
19 2,067 men from the clan of Bigvai;
Вагуеви потомци, две хиляди и шестстотин и седем души.
20 655 men from the clan of Adin;
Адинови потомци, шестстотин и петдесет и пет души.
21 98 men from the clan of Ater, whose other name is Hezekiah;
Атирови потомци, от Езекия, двадесет и осем души.
22 328 men from the clan of Hashum;
Асумови потомци, триста и двадесет и осем души.
23 324 men from the clan of Bezai;
Висаеви потомци, триста и двадесет и четири души.
24 112 men from the clan of Hariph, [whose other name is Jorah];
Арифови потомци, сто и дванадесет души.
25 95 men from the clan of Gibeon, [whose other name is Gibbar].
Гаваонски мъже, деветдесет и пет души.
26 Men whose ancestors had lived in these towns also returned: 188 men from Bethlehem and Netophah
Витлеемски и нетофатски мъже, сто и осемдесет и осем души.
27 128 men from Anathoth;
Анатотски мъже, сто и двадесет и осем души.
28 42 men from Beth-Azmaveth
Вет-асмаветски мъже, четиридесет и двама души.
29 743 men from Kiriath-Jearim, Kephirah and Beeroth;

30 621 men from Ramah and Geba;
Мъже от Рама и от Гава, шестстотин и двадесет и един човека.
31 122 men from Micmash;
Мъже от Михмас, сто и двадесет и двама души.
32 123 men from Bethel and Ai;
Мъже от Ветил и от Гай, сто и двадесет и трима души.
33 52 men from Nebo;
Мъже от другия Нево, петдесет и двама души.
34 1,254 from Elam;
Потомци на другия Елам, хиляда и двеста и петдесет и четири души.
35 320 from Harim;
Харимови потомци, триста и двадесет души.
36 345 from Jericho;

37 721 from Lod, Hadid, and Ono;

38 3,930 from Senaah. The following priests also returned:

39 973 from the clan of Jedaiah who are descendants of Jeshua;

40 1,052 from the clan of Immer;

41 1,247 from the clan of Pashhur;

43 [Other] descendants of Levi who returned were: 74 from the clan of Jeshua and Kadmiel, who are descendants of Hodevah [who is also known as Hodaviah];

44 148 singers who are descendants of Asaph.

45 Also 138 temple gatekeepers from the clans of Shallum, Ater, Talmon, Akkub, Hatita, and Shobai returned.

60 Altogether, there were 392 temple workers and descendants of Solomon’s servants who returned.

61 Another group of 642 people from the clans of Delaiah, Tobiah, and Nekoda also returned. They came from the towns of Tel-Melah, Tel-Harsha, Kerub, Addan ([which is also known as Addon]), and Immer [in Babylonia]. But they could not prove that they were descendants of Israelis.
А ето ония, които възлязоха от Тел-мелах, Тел-ариса, Херув, Адон, и Емир, но не можеха да покажат бащините си домове, нито рода си, дали бяха от Израиля:
Делаиеви потомци, Товиеви потомци, Некодаеви потомци, шестстотин и четиридесет и двама души.
63 Priests from the clans of Hobaiah, Hakkoz, and Barzillai also returned. Barzillai had married a woman who is a descendant of [a man named] Barzillai from [the] Gilead [region], and he had taken his wife’s family name.
И от свещениците: Авиеви потомци, Акосови потомци, потомци на Варзелая, който взе жена от дъщерите на галаадеца Варзелай и се нарече с тяхното име;
64 They searched in the records that contained the names of people’s ancestors, but they could not find the names of those clans, so they were not allowed to have the rights and duties that priests have right away.

65 The governor told them that before they could eat the food offered as sacrifices, a priest should use the marked stones [to find out what God said about their being priests].
И управителят им заповяда да не ядат от пресветите неща докле не настане свещеник с Урим и Темим.
66 Altogether, there were 42,360 people who returned to Judea.
Всичките купно събрани бяха четиридесет и две хиляди и триста и шестдесет души,
67 There were also 7,337 of their servants, and 245 singers, which included men and women.
освен слугите им и слугините им, които бяха седем хиляди и триста тридесет и седем души. Те имаха и двеста и четиридесет и пет певци и певици.
68 The Israelis also brought back [from Babylonia] 736 horses, 245 mules,
Конете им бяха седемстотин и тридесет и шест; мъските им, двеста и четиридесет и пет;
69 435 camels, and 6,720 donkeys.
камилите им, четиристотин и тридесет и пет; а ослите им, шест хиляди и седемстотин и двадесет.
70 Some of the leaders of the clans gave gifts for the work [of rebuilding the temple]. I, being the governor, gave (17 pounds/8.6 kg.) of gold, 50 bowls [to be used in the temple], and 530 robes for the priests.
А някои от началниците на бащините домове дадоха за делото: управителят внесе в съкровищницата хиляда драхми злато, петдесет легени и петстотин и тридесет свещенически одежди.
71 Some of the leaders of the clans gave a total of (337 pounds/153 kg.) of gold, and (3,215 pounds/1,460 kg.) of silver.
И някои от началниците на бащините домове внесоха в съкровищницата за делото двадесет хиляди драхми злато и две хиляди и двеста фунта сребро.
72 The rest of the people gave a total of (337 pounds/153 kg.) of gold, (2,923 pounds/1,330 kg.) of silver, and 67 robes for the priests.
И внесеното от другите люде бе двадесет хиляди драхми злато, две хиляди фунта сребро, и шестдесет и седем свещенически одежди.
73 So the priests, the [other] descendants of Levi [who helped the priests], the temple guards, the musicians, the temple workers, and many ordinary people, who were all Israelis, started to live in the towns and cities of Judea [where their ancestors had lived].
Така свещениците, левитите, вратарите, певците, някои от людете, нетинимите и целият Израил се заселиха в градовете си; когато настъпи седмият месец, израилтяните бяха вече в градовете си.
