< Nehemiah 11 >
1 The [Israeli] leaders [and their families] settled in the sacred city, Jerusalem. The other people (cast lots/threw marked stones) to determine which family from each ten families would live in Jerusalem. The other people continued to live in the other towns and cities [in Judea].
Und die Obersten des Volks wohnten zu Jerusalem. Das andere Volk aber warf das Los darum, daß unter zehn ein Teil gen Jerusalem, in die heilige Stadt, zöge zu wohnen, und neun Teile in den Städten wohnten.
2 Those people [asked God to] bless those who volunteered to [be among the 10% who] moved to Jerusalem.
Und das Volk segnete alle die Männer, die willig waren, zu Jerusalem zu wohnen.
3 [Some of] the priests, [some of] the [other] descendants of Levi, [some of] the temple workers, and the descendants of King Solomon’s servants, and many of the other people lived on their own property in the towns [where their ancestors had lived].
Dies sind die Häupter in der Landschaft, die zu Jerusalem und in den Städten Juda's wohnten. (Sie wohnten aber ein jeglicher in seinem Gut, das in ihren Städten war: nämlich Israel, Priester, Leviten, Tempelknechte und die Kinder der Knechte Salomos.)
4 But some people from the tribes of Judah and Benjamin [decided to] live in Jerusalem. One of them from the tribe of Judah was Athaiah. He was the son of Uzziah, who was the son of Zechariah, who was the son of Amariah, who was the son of Shephatiah, who was the son of Mahalalel, who was a descendant of [Judah’s son] Perez.
Und zu Jerusalem wohnten etliche der Kinder Juda und Benjamin. Von den Kindern Juda: Athaja, der Sohn Usias, des Sohnes Sacharjas, des Sohnes Amarjas, des Sohnes Sephatjas, des Sohnes Mahalaleels, aus den Kindern Perez,
5 [Another one from the tribe of Judah was] Maaseiah, [who was] the son of Baruch, [who was] the son of Colhozeh, [who was] the son of Hazaiah, [who was] the son of Adaiah, [who was] the son of Joiarib, [who was] the son of Zechariah, [who was] a descendant of [Judah’s son] Shelah.
und Maaseja, der Sohn Baruchs, des Sohnes Chol-Hoses, des Sohnes Hasajas, des Sohnes Adajas, des Sohnes Jojaribs, des Sohnes Sacharjas, des Sohnes des Selaniters.
6 There were 468 men who were descendants of Perez who were valiant/courageous soldiers who lived in Jerusalem.
Aller Kinder Perez, die zu Jerusalem wohnten, waren vierhundert und achtundsechzig, tüchtige Leute.
7 [One of the men] of the tribe of Benjamin who decided to live in Jerusalem was Sallu, the son of Meshullam, the son of Joed, the son of Pedaiah, the son of Kolaiah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jeshaiah.
Dies sind die Kinder Benjamin: Sallu, der Sohn Mesullams, des Sohnes Joeds, des Sohnes Pedajas, des Sohnes Kolajas, des Sohnes Maasejas, des Sohnes Ithiels, des Sohnes Jesaja's,
8 Two of Sallu’s relatives, Gabbai and Sallai, also settled in Jerusalem. Altogether, 928 people from the tribe of Benjamin settled in Jerusalem
und nach ihm Gabbai, Sallai, neunhundert und achtundzwanzig;
9 Their leader was Joel, son of Zichri. The official who was second in command in Jerusalem was Hassenuah.
und Joel, der Sohn Sichris, war ihr Vorsteher, und Juda, der Sohn Hasnuas, über den andern Teil der Stadt.
10 The priests [who settled in Jerusalem] were Jedaiah the son of Joiarib, Jakin,
Von den Priestern wohnten daselbst Jedaja, der Sohn Jojaribs, Jachin,
11 Seraiah, the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub [who had previously been] the Supreme Priest.
Seraja, der Sohn Hilkias, des Sohnes Mesullams, des Sohnes Zadoks, des Sohnes Merajoths, des Sohnes Ahitobs, ein Fürst im Hause Gottes,
12 Altogether, 822 members of that clan worked in the temple. Another [priest who settled in Jerusalem] was Adaiah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Pelaliah, the son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah.
und ihre Brüder, die im Hause schafften, derer waren achthundert und zweiundzwanzig; und Adaja, der Sohn Jerohams, des Sohnes Pelaljas, des Sohnes Amzis, des Sohnes Sacharjas, des Sohnes Pashurs, des Sohnes Malchias,
13 Altogether, there were 242 members of that clan who were leaders of the clan [who settled in Jerusalem]. Another [priest who settled in Jerusalem] was Amashsai the son of Azarel, the son of Ahzai, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer.
und seine Brüder, Oberste der Vaterhäuser, zweihundert und zweiundvierzig; und Amassai, der Sohn Asareels, des Sohnes Ahsais, des Sohnes Mesillemoths, des Sohnes Immers,
14 There were 128 members of that clan who were valiant soldiers [who settled in Jerusalem]. Their leader was Zabdiel the son of Haggedolim.
und ihre Brüder, gewaltige Männer, hundert und achtundzwanzig; und ihr Vorsteher war Sabdiel, der Sohn Gedolims.
15 Another descendant of Levi who settled in Jerusalem was Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Bunni.
Von den Leviten: Semaja, der Sohn Hassubs, des Sohnes Asrikams, des Sohnes Hasabjas, des Sohnes Bunnis,
16 Two others were Shabbethai and Jozabad, who were prominent men who supervised the work outside the temple.
und Sabthai und Josabad, aus der Leviten Obersten, an den äußerlichen Geschäften im Hause Gottes,
17 Another one was Mattaniah, the son of Mica, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph. Mattaniah directed the temple choir when they sang the prayers to thank [God]. His assistant was Bakbukiah. Another one was Abda, the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.
und Matthanja, der Sohn Michas, des Sohnes Sabdis, des Sohnes Asaphs, der das Haupt war, Dank anzuheben zum Gebet, und Bakbukja, der andere unter seinen Brüdern, und Abda, der Sohn Sammuas, des Sohnes Galals, des Sohnes Jedithuns.
18 Altogether, there were 284 descendants of Levi who settled in Jerusalem.
Alle Leviten in der heiligen Stadt waren zweihundert und vierundachtzig.
19 The men who guarded the temple gates were Akkub and Talmon and 172 of their relatives who settled in Jerusalem.
Und die Torhüter: Akkub und Talmon und ihre Brüder, die in den Toren hüteten, waren hundert und zweiundsiebzig.
20 The other Israeli people including priests and [other] descendants of Levi lived on their own property in other towns and cities in Judea.
Das andere Israel aber, Priester und Leviten, waren in allen Städten Juda's, ein jeglicher in seinem Erbteil.
21 But the temple workers lived on Ophel [Hill in Jerusalem]. They were supervised by Ziha and Gishpa.
Und die Tempelknechte wohnten am Ophel; und Ziha und Gispa waren über die Tempelknechte.
22 The man who supervised the [other] descendants of Levi who [helped the priests and] lived in Jerusalem was Uzzi, the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Mica. Uzzi belonged to the clan of Asaph, the clan that was in charge of the music in the temple.
Der Vorsteher aber über die Leviten zu Jerusalem war Usi, der Sohn Banis, des Sohnes Hasabjas, des Sohnes Matthanjas, des Sohnes Michas, aus den Kindern Asaphs, den Sängern, für das Geschäft im Hause Gottes.
23 The king [of Persia] had commanded that the clans should decide what each clan should do to lead the music in the temple each day.
Denn es war des Königs Gebot über sie, daß man den Sängern treulich gäbe, einen jeglichen Tag seine Gebühr.
24 Pethahiah, the son of Meshezabel, [who was] from the clan of Zerah and a descendant of Judah, was the ambassador [of the Israelis] to the king of Persia.
Und Pethahja, der Sohn Mesesabeels, aus den Kindern Serahs, des Sohnes Juda's, war zu Handen des Königs in allen Geschäften an das Volk.
25 Some of the people [who did not settle in Jerusalem] lived in villages close to their farms. Some from the tribe of Judah lived in villages near Kiriath-Arba, Dibon, and Jekabzeel [cities].
Und der Kinder Juda, die außen auf den Dörfern auf ihrem Lande waren, wohnten etliche zu Kirjath-Arba und seinen Ortschaften und zu Dibon und seinen Ortschaften und zu Kabzeel und seinen Ortschaften
26 Some lived in Jeshua [city], in Moladah [city], in Beth-Pelet [city],
und zu Jesua, Molada, Beth-Pelet,
27 in Hazar-Shual [city], and in Beersheba [city] and the villages near it.
Hazar-Sual, Beer-Seba und ihren Ortschaften
28 Others lived in Ziklag [city], in Meconah [city] and the villages near it,
und zu Ziklag und Mechona und ihren Ortschaften
29 in En-Rimmon [city], in Zorah [city], in Jarmuth [city],
und zu En-Rimmon, Zora, Jarmuth,
30 in Zanoah [city], in Adullam [city], and in the villages near those cities. Some lived in Lachish [city] and in the nearby villages, and some lived in Azekah [town] and the villages near it. All of those people lived in Judea, in the area between Beersheba [in the south] and Hinnom Valley [in the north, at the edge of Jerusalem].
Sanoah, Adullam und ihren Dörfern, zu Lachis und auf seinem Felde, zu Aseka und seinen Ortschaften. Und sie lagerten sich von Beer-Seba an bis an das Tal Hinnom.
31 The people of the tribe of Benjamin lived in Geba [city], Micmash [city], Aija [city which is also known as Ai], Bethel [city] and in nearby villages,
Die Kinder Benjamin aber wohnten von Geba an zu Michmas, Aja, Beth-El und seinen Ortschaften
32 in Anathoth [city], in Nob [city], in Ananiah [town],
und zu Anathoth, Nob, Ananja,
33 in Hazor [city], in Ramah [city], in Gittaim [city],
Hazor, Rama, Gitthaim,
34 in Hadid [city], in Zeboim [town], in Neballat [town],
Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat,
35 in Lod [town], in Ono [town], and in Craftsmen’s Valley.
Lod und Ono im Tal der Zimmerleute.
36 Some of the groups of the descendants of Levi who had lived in Judea were sent to live with [the people of the tribe of] Benjamin.
Und etliche Leviten, die Teile in Juda hatten, wohnten unter Benjamin.
