Micah 5
1 “But now, [you people of Jerusalem, gather your troops together, ] [because even though] you have a wall [around your city to protect it], [enemy soldiers] are surrounding the city. And [soon] they will strike your leader on his face, with a rod.”
੧ਹੁਣ ਹੇ ਜੱਥਿਆਂ ਦੀਏ ਧੀਏ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਜੱਥਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਿਆਂ ਕਰ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਘੇਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਨਿਆਈਂ ਨੂੰ ਡੰਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ੍ਹ ਤੇ ਮਾਰਨਗੇ।
2 But you [people of] [APO] Bethlehem in Ephrathah [district need to know that] even though your [town] is a very small one among all the towns in Judah, someone who will rule Israel will be born in your town. [He will be] someone whose family has existed a very long time ago [DOU].
੨ਪਰ ਹੇ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਅਫਰਾਥਾਹ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਛੋਟਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਿੱਕਲੇਗਾ, ਜੋ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਕਮ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਿੱਕਲਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਅਨਾਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਹੈ।
3 [But now] you people of Israel will be conquered by your enemies; [but it will be for only a short time], like [MET] [the short time that] women have great pain while their babies are being born. After that, your fellow-countrymen who were (exiled/forced to go to other countries) will return to their own country.
੩ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਜਣਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਜਨਮ ਨਾ ਦੇਵੇ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਮੁੜ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
4 And that man who will be ruling [there in Jerusalem] will stand and lead his people well, because Yahweh, his God, will cause him to be strong and greatly honored. Then the people whom he rules will live [in Jerusalem] safely; he will be greatly honored by people all over the earth, [so no one will dare to attack Jerusalem].
੪ਉਹ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਲ ਵਿੱਚ, ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਰਤਾਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਇੱਜੜ ਚਾਰੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਮਹਾਨ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
5 And he will cause things to go well [for his people]. When [the army of] Assyria attacks our country and breaks though our fortresses, we will appoint (seven or eight/several) leaders [to lead our army] to fight against them.
੫ਉਹ ਸਾਡੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਜਦ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕਰਨਗੇ, ਜਦ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਗੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਰਨਗੇ, ਤਦ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸੱਤ ਅਯਾਲੀ, ਸਗੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਅੱਠ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ।
6 With their swords [our army] will defeat the [army of] Assyria, [whose capital was founded by] Nimrod [long ago]. So our army will rescue us from the Assyrian [army] when they invade our country [DOU].
੬ਉਹ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਰਾਨ ਕਰ ਸੁੱਟਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਨਿਮਰੋਦ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਲਾਂਘਿਆਂ ਤੱਕ, ਜਦ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਰਨਗੇ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਡਾਉਣਗੇ।
7 The (descendants of Jacob/Israelis) who survive will be [a blessing] to the people of other nations, like [SIM] dew and rain sent by Yahweh do good to the grass. The Israelis will not trust in humans [to help them]; instead, they will rely on Yahweh.
੭ਤਦ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਬਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਕ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ, ਤ੍ਰੇਲ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਫੁਹਾਰਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ, ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਘਾਹ ਤੇ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਠਹਿਰਦੀਆਂ, ਨਾ ਹੀ ਆਦਮ-ਵੰਸ਼ ਲਈ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
8 In the midst of [their enemies in] many people-groups [DOU], the descendants of Jacob who remain alive will be like [SIM] a lion among the [other] wild beasts of the forest, like [SIM] a young lion who goes among a flock of sheep and pounces [on one] and (mauls it/tears it to pieces), and no one will be able to rescue [that sheep].
੮ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਬਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਕ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ, ਸਗੋਂ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਉੱਮਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਬੱਬਰ ਸ਼ੇਰ, ਜਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਇੱਜੜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੁਆਨ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘ ਕੇ ਲਤਾੜਦਾ ਤੇ ਪਾੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਛੁਡਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ!
9 You Israelis will defeat [MTY] all your enemies and completely destroy them.
੯ਤੇਰਾ ਹੱਥ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਉੱਠਿਆ ਰਹੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਵੱਢੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
10 Yahweh says, “At that time, I will destroy [you Israeli people’s] horses [that your soldiers use in war] and your chariots.
੧੦“ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ,” ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ, “ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰੋਂ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
11 I will tear down your city [walls] and destroy all your fortified cities.
੧੧ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਹ ਸੁੱਟਾਂਗਾ।
12 I will get rid of all those among you who practice magic and the (fortune-tellers/those who say that they can predict what will happen in the future).
੧੨ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਦੂ-ਮੰਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਮਹੂਰਤ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾ ਹੋਣਗੇ।
13 I will destroy [all] your idols and [sacred stone] pillars, and then you will no longer bow down [and worship] things that you yourselves [SYN] have made.
੧੩ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਮੂਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਥੰਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰੋਂ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਫੇਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਥਾ ਨਾ ਟੇਕੇਂਗਾ।
14 I will get rid of your poles [that represent the goddess] Asherah, and [I will also] destroy all your idols.
੧੪ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਅਸ਼ੇਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਥੰਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰੋਂ ਪੁੱਟ ਸੁੱਟਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
15 And because I will be very angry, I will [also] punish [the people of] all the nations who have not obeyed [me].”
੧੫ਮੈਂ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਤੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਦਲਾ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਿਆ!”
