< Micah 2 >

1 Terrible things will happen to you who lie awake at night, planning to do wicked things. You get up at dawn, and you do those things, [as soon as] you are able to do them.
A UWE ka poe e noonoo ana i ka ino, a e imi aua i ka hewa, maluna o ko lakou wahi moe! I ka malamalama o ke ao, hana lakou ia mea, no ka mea, ma ka ikaika o ko lakou lima e hiki ai ia.
2 You want fields [that belong to other people], so you seize them; you also take their houses. You cheat people to get their homes, taking away the property that belongs to their families.
A kuko aku lakou i na mahinaai, i kaili wale, a me na hale, a lawe hoi ia mau mea: A alunu lakou i ka ke kanaka, a me kona hale, i ka ke kanaka a me kona aina hooili.
3 Therefore, this is what Yahweh says: “I will cause you people to experience disasters, and you will not be able to escape [MTY] from them. You will no [longer] walk around proudly, because when those things happen, it will be a time of much trouble for you.
No ia mea, peneia i olelo mai ai o Iehova; Aia hoi, ke manao nei au i ka hewa no keia ohana, Aole oukou e hiki ke hoonee aku i ko oukou mau a-i mai ia mea aku; Aole hoi oukou e hele hookiekie, no ka mea, he manawa ino keia.
4 At that time, [your enemies] will make fun of you; they will ridicule you by singing this sad song about you: ‘We are completely ruined; Yahweh is taking our land/fields from us, and he will give it to those who will capture us.’”
Ia la e lawe kekahi i mele no oukou, A e kanikau i ke kanikau nui, i ka i ana ae, I ka luku ana ua lukuia kakou; Ua hoololiia ka hooilina o kuu poe kanaka; Nani ka laweia'ku ia mai o'u la! A no ka mea hoihoi, ua puunaueia ko kakou mau mahinaai;
5 So [when it is the time for the land to be given back to you] people who belong to Yahweh, there will be no one [MTY] who will be able to (cast lots/throw marked stones) to determine which land belongs to whom.
Nolaila, aohe ou mea nana e hoolei ke kaula ma ka hailona, iloko o ka ahakanaka o Iehova.
6 The people [who heard me say that] replied to me, “Do not prophesy such things! Do not say that [Yahweh] is going to humiliate us [by causing us to experience disasters]!”
Mai hai aku i ka wanana; aole lakou e wanana ia lakou, aole e lawe i ka hilahila.
7 But you people [MTY] of Israel should not [RHQ] talk like that! The Spirit of Yahweh will certainly not [RHQ] be patient [with people who say such things]! People who continually do things that are righteous will certainly [RHQ] like/appreciate what I say.
E ka mea i kapaia o ka hale o Iakoba, ua pauaho anei ka uhane o Iehova? O keia anei kana mau hana? aole anei he maikai ka'u mau olelo i ka mea e hele pono ana?
8 [But Yahweh says], “[Recently] my people have been acting toward me like an enemy. When soldiers return from fighting [against their enemies], you [rich people refuse to return the coats of those poor soldiers who have borrowed money from you] [and given you their coats to guarantee that they will pay back the money that they borrowed from you]. [It is as though] you are waiting to forcefully take their coats off their backs!
Ano iho nei ua ku e mai kuu poe kanaka me he enemi la: Ke kaili nei oukou i ka aahu, a me ka lole komo o ka poe e hele maluhia ana, me he poe la e hoi ana, mai ke kaua mai.
9 You have forced women to leave their nice homes, and you have stolen from their children forever the (blessings/good things) that I wanted to give them.
Ua hookuke aku oukou i na wahine o kuu poe kanaka, mai ko lakou hale maikai aku; Ua lawe loa aku oukou i kuu nani mai ka lakou poe keiki aku.
10 [So] get up and leave [here]! This is not a place where you can rest [and be safe/protected], because you have (defiled it/caused it to be a place that I hate); it will be completely destroyed.
E ku mai oukou, a hele aku, no ka mea, aohe keia ko oukou wahi maha; No ka mea, ua haumia ia, e luku aku ia ia oukou me ka luku nui.
11 [You people want] a prophet who will lie to you, saying ‘I will preach [that you should drink] plenty of wine and [other] alcoholic drinks!’ That is the [kind of] prophet who [would please] you.”
Ina e hele ke kanaka ma ka makani, a ma ka hoopunipuni, a wahahee oia, i ka i ana ae, E wanana aku au ia oe no ka waina, a me ka mea inu awaawa; Oia no ke kaula o keia poe kanaka.
12 “[But some day], you descendants of Jacob, you Israeli people who have survived, I will bring you back [from (exile/other countries)], I will gather you together like [SIM] [a shepherd gathers his] sheep from the pasture into a pen [DOU]; there will be many of you in your land/country.
E hoakoakoa io ana au i kau a pau, e Iakoba; E houluulu io ana au i ke koena o ka Iseraela: E hui pu aku au ia lakou e like me na hipa a Bozera, E like me ka poe hipa iwaenakonu o ko lakou pahipa; E pioloke nui lakou no ka nui o na kanaka.
13 Your leader will enable them to leave the countries where they have been exiled; he will lead them out of the gates [of their enemies’ cities], [back to your own country]. Your king will lead them; [it is I], Yahweh, who will be their king!”
Ua pii ae ka mea wawahi imua o lakou; Ua wawahi iho lakou, a ua komo lakou ma ka pukapa, a ua hele aku malaila; A e hele ko lakou alii imua o lakou, o Iehova ma ko lakou poo.
