< Matthew 7 >

1 “Do not talk about how sinfully others have acted, in order that God will not say how sinfully you have acted.
யதா² யூயம்’ தோ³ஷீக்ரு’தா ந ப⁴வத², தத்க்ரு’தே(அ)ந்யம்’ தோ³ஷிணம்’ மா குருத|
2 If you condemn [other people], [God] will condemn you. To the same extent that you condemn others, you will be condemned {[God] will condemn you}.
யதோ யாத்³ரு’ஸே²ந தோ³ஷேண யூயம்’ பராந் தோ³ஷிண​: குருத², தாத்³ரு’ஸே²ந தோ³ஷேண யூயமபி தோ³ஷீக்ரு’தா ப⁴விஷ்யத², அந்யஞ்ச யேந பரிமாணேந யுஷ்மாபி⁴​: பரிமீயதே, தேநைவ பரிமாணேந யுஷ்மத்க்ரு’தே பரிமாயிஷ்யதே|
3 (None of you should be concerned [about someone else’s small faults] [MET]!/Why should any of you be concerned [about someone else’s small faults]?) [MET, RHQ] [That would be like noticing] a speck in that person’s eye. But you should [be concerned about your own big faults. They are like] [MET] planks in your own eye, which you do not notice.
அபரஞ்ச நிஜநயநே யா நாஸா வித்³யதே, தாம் அநாலோச்ய தவ ஸஹஜஸ்ய லோசநே யத் த்ரு’ணம் ஆஸ்தே, ததே³வ குதோ வீக்ஷஸே?
4 (You should not say to other people [about their minor faults], ‘Let me remove the specks from your eyes!’/Why do you say to other people [about their minor faults], ‘Let me remove the specks from your eyes?’) [RHQ] [You should not say that] if a plank is still in your own eye [MET].
தவ நிஜலோசநே நாஸாயாம்’ வித்³யமாநாயாம்’, ஹே ப்⁴ராத​: , தவ நயநாத் த்ரு’ணம்’ ப³ஹிஷ்யர்தும்’ அநுஜாநீஹி, கதா²மேதாம்’ நிஜஸஹஜாய கத²ம்’ கத²யிதும்’ ஸ²க்நோஷி?
5 You hypocrite, [stop committing your own sins! That will be like] removing the plank from your own eye [MET]. Then, as a result, you will be able to perceive things spiritually so that you can help other people get rid of the [faults] [MET] [that are like] specks in their eyes.”
ஹே கபடிந், ஆதௌ³ நிஜநயநாத் நாஸாம்’ ப³ஹிஷ்குரு ததோ நிஜத்³ரு’ஷ்டௌ ஸுப்ரஸந்நாயாம்’ தவ ப்⁴ராத்ரு’ ர்லோசநாத் த்ரு’ணம்’ ப³ஹிஷ்கர்தும்’ ஸ²க்ஷ்யஸி|
6 “You do not give holy things to dogs [that would ignore those things] and attack you [CHI]. You do not throw pearls in front of hogs, [because they would just ignore them] and trample them. [Similarly], do not give [precious spiritual truth to people you know will not value it but instead will do evil things to you].”
அந்யஞ்ச ஸாரமேயேப்⁴ய​: பவித்ரவஸ்தூநி மா விதரத, வராஹாணாம்’ ஸமக்ஷஞ்ச முக்தா மா நிக்ஷிபத; நிக்ஷேபணாத் தே தா​: ஸர்வ்வா​: பதை³ ர்த³லயிஷ்யந்தி, பராவ்ரு’த்ய யுஷ்மாநபி விதா³ரயிஷ்யந்தி|
7 “Keep asking [God for what you need]. If you do that, [he] will give it to you. Confidently keep [expecting God to give you the things that you need, and he will give them to you. It will be like] [MET] looking for what you need and finding it. Keep on [praying persistently to God. Then God will answer you. It will be like] [MET] knocking [on a door in order to enter a room]. And the way will be opened {[God] will open the way} for you [to get what you pray for].
யாசத்⁴வம்’ ததோ யுஷ்மப்⁴யம்’ தா³யிஷ்யதே; ம்ரு’க³யத்⁴வம்’ தத உத்³தே³ஸ²ம்’ லப்ஸ்யத்⁴வே; த்³வாரம் ஆஹத, ததோ யுஷ்மத்க்ரு’தே முக்தம்’ ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
8 Remember that [God] will give things to everyone who continues to ask [him for them]. [He] will give things to whoever confidently keeps asking. [He] will open [the way] for people [to get the things that they keep persistently praying for].
யஸ்மாத்³ யேந யாச்யதே, தேந லப்⁴யதே; யேந ம்ரு’க்³யதே தேநோத்³தே³ஸ²​: ப்ராப்யதே; யேந ச த்³வாரம் ஆஹந்யதே, தத்க்ரு’தே த்³வாரம்’ மோச்யதே|
9 (No man among you would give a stone to his son if his son were to ask for bread./Would anyone among you give a stone to his son if his son were to ask for bread?) [RHQ]
ஆத்மஜேந பூபே ப்ரார்தி²தே தஸ்மை பாஷாணம்’ விஸ்²ராணயதி,
10 Likewise, (no man would give a [poisonous] snake to his son if his son would ask for a fish./would anyone give a [poisonous] snake to his son if his son would ask for a fish?) [RHQ]
மீநே யாசிதே ச தஸ்மை பு⁴ஜக³ம்’ விதரதி, ஏதாத்³ரு’ஸ²​: பிதா யுஷ்மாகம்’ மத்⁴யே க ஆஸ்தே?
11 You, who are evil, know how to give good things to your children. So [God], your Father who is in heaven, will certainly give good things to the people who ask him.”
தஸ்மாத்³ யூயம் அப⁴த்³ரா​: ஸந்தோ(அ)பி யதி³ நிஜபா³லகேப்⁴ய உத்தமம்’ த்³ரவ்யம்’ தா³தும்’ ஜாநீத², தர்ஹி யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸ்வர்க³ஸ்த²​: பிதா ஸ்வீயயாசகேப்⁴ய​: கிமுத்தமாநி வஸ்தூநி ந தா³ஸ்யதி?
12 “So in whatever way you want others to act toward you [(pl)], that is the way you [(pl)] should act toward them, because that [sums up what Moses wrote in] the laws [that God gave him] and [also what] the prophets [wrote long ago].”
யூஷ்மாந் ப்ரதீதரேஷாம்’ யாத்³ரு’ஸோ² வ்யவஹாரோ யுஷ்மாகம்’ ப்ரிய​: , யூயம்’ தாந் ப்ரதி தாத்³ரு’ஸா²நேவ வ்யவஹாராந் வித⁴த்த; யஸ்மாத்³ வ்யவஸ்தா²ப⁴விஷ்யத்³வாதி³நாம்’ வசநாநாம் இதி ஸாரம்|
13 “[Going to] where people live eternally [with God in heaven] is difficult. [It is like] going along a narrow road [PRS, MET] that leads to a narrow gate. Not many people find that way. [The way] that most [people take] is easy, [but it results in their being punished] {[God punishing them]} [in hell. That way is like a] wide road that people walk on [PRS, MET] until they reach the wide gate, but that road and that gate lead to where [they] will be destroyed {[God] will destroy them}. Many people enter that gate. So I [am telling you to leave the wide road and] enter the narrow gate [to heaven].” (questioned)
ஸங்கீர்ணத்³வாரேண ப்ரவிஸ²த; யதோ நரகக³மநாய யத்³ த்³வாரம்’ தத்³ விஸ்தீர்ணம்’ யச்ச வர்த்ம தத்³ ப்³ரு’ஹத் தேந ப³ஹவ​: ப்ரவிஸ²ந்தி|
அபரம்’ ஸ்வர்க³க³மநாய யத்³ த்³வாரம்’ தத் கீத்³ரு’க் ஸம்’கீர்ணம்’| யச்ச வர்த்ம தத் கீத்³ரு’க்³ து³ர்க³மம்| தது³த்³தே³ஷ்டார​: கியந்தோ(அ)ல்பா​: |
15 “Beware of people who come to you and say falsely that they are telling you [what God has said]. [They seem to be harmless, but they are extremely harmful. They are like] wolves that have covered themselves with sheepskins [to make people believe that they are sheep] [MET], but they actually are wolves that attack people [MET].
அபரஞ்ச யே ஜநா மேஷவேஸே²ந யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸமீபம் ஆக³ச்ச²ந்தி, கிந்த்வந்தர்து³ரந்தா வ்ரு’கா ஏதாத்³ரு’ஸே²ப்⁴யோ ப⁴விஷ்யத்³வாதி³ப்⁴ய​: ஸாவதா⁴நா ப⁴வத, யூயம்’ ப²லேந தாந் பரிசேதும்’ ஸ²க்நுத²|
16 [So how will you know that they are false?] Well, by seeing what plants produce, you know [what kind of plants] they are [MET]. [For example, thornbushes cannot produce grapes], so (no one can pick grapes from thornbushes./can anyone pick grapes from thornbushes?) [RHQ] And [thistles cannot produce figs], so (no one can pick figs from thistles./can anyone pick figs from thistles?) [RHQ]
மநுஜா​: கிம்’ கண்டகிநோ வ்ரு’க்ஷாத்³ த்³ராக்ஷாப²லாநி ஸ்²ரு’கா³லகோலிதஸ்²ச உடு³ம்ப³ரப²லாநி ஸா²தயந்தி?
17 [Here is another example]: All good fruit trees produce good fruit, but all unhealthy trees produce worthless fruit.
தத்³வத்³ உத்தம ஏவ பாத³ப உத்தமப²லாநி ஜநயதி, அத⁴மபாத³பஏவாத⁴மப²லாநி ஜநயதி|
18 No good fruit tree is able to produce worthless fruit, and no unhealthy tree is able to produce good fruit.
கிந்தூத்தமபாத³ப​: கதா³ப்யத⁴மப²லாநி ஜநயிதும்’ ந ஸ²க்நோதி, ததா²த⁴மோபி பாத³ப உத்தமப²லாநி ஜநயிதும்’ ந ஸ²க்நோதி|
19 [And] all the trees that do not produce good fruit are chopped down and burned in a fire {people chop them down and burn them in a fire} [to get rid of them]. [Similarly], those who falsely claim to be prophets [will be thrown] {[God will throw false prophets]} [into the fires of hell]. (questioned)
அபரம்’ யே யே பாத³பா அத⁴மப²லாநி ஜநயந்தி, தே க்ரு’த்தா வஹ்நௌ க்ஷிப்யந்தே|
20 By seeing [what plants] produce, you know [what kind of plants] they are. [Similarly, when you see what the people who come to you do], [you will know if they are false prophets].”
அதஏவ யூயம்’ ப²லேந தாந் பரிசேஷ்யத²|
21 “[Even though many] people [habitually] call me ‘Lord’, [pretending that they have my authority], some of them will not go to heaven where God rules, [because they do not do what he desires]. [Only] those people who do what my Father, who is in heaven, desires [will go there].
யே ஜநா மாம்’ ப்ரபு⁴ம்’ வத³ந்தி, தே ஸர்வ்வே ஸ்வர்க³ராஜ்யம்’ ப்ரவேக்ஷ்யந்தி தந்ந, கிந்து யோ மாநவோ மம ஸ்வர்க³ஸ்த²ஸ்ய பிதுரிஷ்டம்’ கர்ம்ம கரோதி ஸ ஏவ ப்ரவேக்ஷ்யதி|
22 On the day [MTY] [that God judges everyone], many [people, trying to tell me that they deserve to go to heaven], will say to me, ‘Lord, we(exc) spoke God’s message as your representatives [MTY, RHQ]! As your representatives we(exc) expelled demons from [people] [RHQ]! And as your representatives, many times we(exc) performed miracles [RHQ]!’
தத்³ தி³நே ப³ஹவோ மாம்’ வதி³ஷ்யந்தி, ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴ ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴, தவ நாம்நா கிமஸ்மாமி ர்ப⁴விஷ்யத்³வாக்யம்’ ந வ்யாஹ்ரு’தம்’? தவ நாம்நா பூ⁴தா​: கிம்’ ந த்யாஜிதா​: ? தவ நாம்நா கிம்’ நாநாத்³பு⁴தாநி கர்ம்மாணி ந க்ரு’தாநி?
23 Then I will declare to them, ‘I have never said that you belonged to me. Go away from me, you who do what is evil!’”
ததா³ஹம்’ வதி³ஷ்யாமி, ஹே குகர்ம்மகாரிணோ யுஷ்மாந் அஹம்’ ந வேத்³மி, யூயம்’ மத்ஸமீபாத்³ தூ³ரீப⁴வத|
24 “So then, anyone who hears what I say and does what I command, will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.
ய​: கஸ்²சித் மமைதா​: கதா²​: ஸ்²ருத்வா பாலயதி, ஸ பாஷாணோபரி க்³ரு’ஹநிர்ம்மாத்ரா ஜ்ஞாநிநா ஸஹ மயோபமீயதே|
25 [Even though] the rain came down and the river flooded, and the winds blew and beat against that house, it did not fall down because it had been built {he built it} on a solid foundation.
யதோ வ்ரு’ஷ்டௌ ஸத்யாம் ஆப்லாவ ஆக³தே வாயௌ வாதே ச தேஷு தத்³கே³ஹம்’ லக்³நேஷு பாஷாணோபரி தஸ்ய பி⁴த்தேஸ்தந்ந பததி
26 On the other hand, anyone who hears what I say but does not obey what I say will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
கிந்து ய​: கஸ்²சித் மமைதா​: கதா²​: ஸ்²ருத்வா ந பாலயதி ஸ ஸைகதே கே³ஹநிர்ம்மாத்ரா (அ)ஜ்ஞாநிநா உபமீயதே|
27 When the rain fell and the rivers flooded, and the winds blew and beat against that house, it crashed down and broke completely apart, [because it was built on the sand. So it is important for you to obey what I teach you].”
யதோ ஜலவ்ரு’ஷ்டௌ ஸத்யாம் ஆப்லாவ ஆக³தே பவநே வாதே ச தை ர்க்³ரு’ஹே ஸமாகா⁴தே தத் பததி தத்பதநம்’ மஹத்³ ப⁴வதி|
28 When Jesus finished saying all those things, the [who had been listening to him were] amazed at the [new] teaching that he had taught them.
யீஸு²நைதேஷு வாக்யேஷு ஸமாபிதேஷு மாநவாஸ்ததீ³யோபதே³ஸ²ம் ஆஸ்²சர்ய்யம்’ மேநிரே|
29 The reason they were amazed was that he was teaching as a person does who has authority. He was not teaching like the men who taught the [Jewish] laws, [who just repeated what other people had taught them].
யஸ்மாத் ஸ உபாத்⁴யாயா இவ தாந் நோபதி³தே³ஸ² கிந்து ஸமர்த²புருஷஇவ ஸமுபதி³தே³ஸ²|
