Malachi 2
1 You priests, I will say something to warn you.
“Các thầy tế lễ, hãy lắng tai nghe lời Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân truyền đây!
2 The Commander of the armies of angels says [this]: “Pay attention [to what I am saying], and [then] decide [IDM] to honor me [MTY]. If you do not do that, I will curse you, and I will curse [the things that I have given to you to] bless you. And I have already cursed them, because you have not honored [IDM] me.
Nếu các ngươi không nghe, không hết lòng tôn vinh Danh Ta, thì Ta sẽ nguyền rủa các ngươi. Ta sẽ không cho các ngươi hưởng các phước lành đáng lẽ các ngươi được hưởng. Đúng ra, Ta đã nguyền rủa các ngươi rồi, vì các ngươi không lưu tâm đến điều ấy.
3 I will punish your descendants [MET], and [it will be as though] I will splatter on your faces [some of] the material inside the stomachs of the animals that are brought to be sacrificed, and you will be thrown away with the rest of that material.
Kìa, Ta sẽ khiển trách con cháu các ngươi, rải phân lên mặt các ngươi (là phân các sinh tế các ngươi dâng trong các kỳ lễ trọng thể), và các ngươi sẽ bị đem đi với phân ấy.
4 When that happens, you will know that I warned you like this, in order that my agreement with [you priests who are descendants of] Levi will continue [to be obeyed]. [That is what I, ] the Commander of the armies of angels, am saying [to you].
Như vậy, các ngươi sẽ biết chính Ta đã truyền lệnh này để lập giao ước với Lê-vi. Giao ước ấy đem lại sự sống và bình an,” Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân phán vậy.
5 My agreement with [your ancestor] Levi was because I wanted the priests to live prosperously and peacefully. And that is what I have done for them. I required that they greatly respect me and revere [DOU] me.
“Ta đã ban cho Lê-vi sự sống và bình an để người biết kính sợ Ta; và người đã kính sợ Ta và tôn sùng Danh Ta.
6 They told the people that what I instructed them to do was right. And they did not tell [MTY] lies. They worked for me peacefully and loyally, and they helped many people to stop sinning.
Miệng người truyền bá chân lý; người ta không tìm thấy lời gì trái lẽ từ môi người. Người bước đi với Ta trong hòa bình và chính trực. Người làm cho nhiều người bỏ lối sống tội ác.
7 What priests say [MTY] should enable more people to know [about me], and people should go to them [MTY] to be taught [what I want them to know], because priests [should] be messengers from me, the Commander of the armies of angels.
Môi thầy tế lễ phải nói lời tri thức của Đức Chúa Trời vì người là sứ giả của Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân; người ta phải học hỏi pháp luật nơi người.
8 But, you priests have stopped doing what I wanted you to do. What you have taught people has caused many [of them] to sin. You have rejected the agreement [that I made] with [the descendants of] Levi [long ago].
Thế nhưng, các ngươi đã bỏ đường lối của Đức Chúa Trời, làm cho nhiều người vấp ngã vì luật các ngươi dạy, và vì các ngươi xuyên tạc giao ước Lê-vi,” Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân phán vậy.
9 Therefore I have caused all the people to despise you, and I have caused you to be humiliated, because you have not obeyed me. When you teach [people] my commands, you do not treat all [people] equally.”
“Cho nên, Ta làm cho các ngươi ra hèn hạ, đáng khinh trước mặt mọi người. Vì các ngươi không theo đường lối Ta, nhưng áp dụng luật lệ cách thiên vị.”
10 [Now I will warn you about something else]. We all certainly [RHQ] have the same [heavenly] Father. We are certainly [RHQ] [all] created by the same God. So why are [RHQ] [some of] you disobeying/despising the agreement [that Yahweh made] with our ancestors, by not doing for each other what you said that you would do?
Chúng ta là con một Cha, được một Đức Chúa Trời tạo nên, phải không? Thế thì tại sao chúng ta lừa dối nhau, vi phạm giao ước của tổ tiên?
11 [You people of] Judah have been unfaithful [to Yahweh]. You have done detestable things in Jerusalem and in [other places] in Israel. You Israeli men have defiled the temple that Yahweh loves. [You have done that by] marrying women who worship idols.
Giu-đa lừa dối; Ít-ra-ên và Giê-ru-sa-lem phạm tội kinh tởm. Giu-đa làm nhơ bẩn nơi thánh của Chúa Hằng Hữu, là nơi Ngài yêu chuộng, vì Giu-đa đi cưới con gái của thần lạ.
12 I wish that Yahweh would expel from Israel every man who has done that, [even though] they [say that they are obeying] the Commander of the armies of angels by bringing offerings to him.
Ai làm điều này, dù là thầy giáo hay học trò, dù là người đứng dâng tế lễ cho Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân đi nữa, cũng sẽ bị Ngài khai trừ khỏi trại Gia-cốp.
13 This is another thing that you do: You cover Yahweh’s altar with your tears. You wail because he no longer pays attention to your offerings; but he is not pleased with them.
Các ngươi còn lấy nước mắt, khóc lóc, thở than, che phủ bàn thờ của Chúa Hằng Hữu đến nỗi Ngài không còn nhìn đến lễ vật, không vui lòng chấp nhận tế lễ từ tay các ngươi dâng lên.
14 You [cry out], saying, “Why does Yahweh not like our offerings?” The answer is that Yahweh heard what each of you men solemnly promised to your wives when you were young. But you men have not done what you promised your wives; you sent them away, the ones to whom you made that agreement.
Các ngươi thắc mắc: “Tại sao thế?” Vì Chúa đã chứng giám cho hôn thú các ngươi đã lập với vợ ngươi lúc ngươi còn trẻ, nhưng rồi ngươi không chung thủy với nàng, dù nàng là người bạn đường và vợ có hôn thú của ngươi.
15 It is certainly [RHQ] Yahweh who joined you together. Your spirits and your bodies belong to him. [So] what he wants [RHQ] from you are godly children. So make sure that each of you men remain (with/loyal to) the woman that you married when you were young.
Đức Chúa Trời đã tạo nên một người để lưu truyền nguồn sống. Và Ngài mưu cầu điều gì? Một dòng dõi thánh. Vậy, các ngươi nên lưu ý, giữ mối chung thủy với vợ mình cưới lúc còn trẻ.
16 Yahweh, the God to whom [we] Israelis belong, says, “I hate divorce!” [So] if you men divorce your wives, you are overwhelming them by being cruel to them. So be sure that you are (not disloyal/remain united) to your wives. [That is what] the Commander of the armies of angels says.
Vì Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên có phán: “Ta ghét ly dị và ghét người lấy áo che đậy việc hung dữ. Vậy, phải lưu ý, đừng phản bội.”
17 Yahweh [also says], “What you have said has caused me to become disgusted.” You reply, “What have we said that caused him to become disgusted?” [The answer is that you have caused him to become disgusted] by saying that Yahweh is pleased with all those who do evil things. [You have caused him to become disgusted] by [constantly] asking, “Why does God not act fairly?”
Những lời nói của các ngươi đã làm nhàm tai Chúa Hằng Hữu. Nhưng các ngươi hỏi: “Chúng tôi làm chán tai Chúa thế nào được?” Vì các ngươi nói: “Ai làm điều dữ thì vừa ý Chúa; Ngài thích họ,” hoặc hỏi: “Đức Chúa Trời công bằng ở đâu?”
