Leviticus 1
1 While Moses/I was [standing near the entrance] to the Sacred Tent, Yahweh called to him/me from inside the tent. He said to Moses/me,
Yavé llamó a Moisés y le habló desde el Tabernáculo de Reunión:
2 “Tell this to the Israeli people: ‘When any of you brings an offering to Yahweh, bring one of your sheep or goats or cattle.
Habla a los hijos de Israel: Cuando alguno de ustedes presente un holocaustoa Yavé, ofrecerá su ofrenda de animales del ganado vacuno o del rebaño.
3 ‘If what you are offering is a bull that will be completely burned [on the altar], it must not have any defects. You must take it to the entrance to the Sacred Tent, in order that it will be acceptable to Yahweh.
Si su ofrenda es un holocausto del ganado vacuno, ofrecerá un macho sin defecto. Lo llevará voluntariamente a la entrada del Tabernáculo de Reunión ante Yavé.
4 You must lay your hands on the head of the bull. When you do that, Yahweh will accept [its death in your place] to forgive/pardon you for the sins that you have committed.
Pondrá su mano sobre la cabeza del animal, y le será aceptado para hacer sacrificio que apacigua por él.
5 You must slaughter the bull in front of Yahweh. Then Aaron’s sons, who are priests, will bring the blood and sprinkle it against all sides of the altar near the entrance to the Sacred Tent.
Luego deberá degollar el becerro ante Yavé. Los sacerdotes hijos de Aarón ofrecerán la sangre y la rociarán alrededor sobre el altar situado en la entrada del Tabernáculo de Reunión.
6 You must remove the skin of the animal and cut the animal into pieces. You must wash the inner parts and the legs of the bull.
Después degollará el animal y lo partirá en trozos.
7 Then Aaron’s sons will put wood on the altar and light a fire.
Los sacerdotes hijos de Aarón encenderán fuego sobre el altar y acomodarán leña sobre el fuego.
8 Then they will arrange the pieces, including the head and the fat, on the burning wood.
Seguidamente los sacerdotes hijos de Aarón dispondrán los trozos, la cabeza y la grasa sobre la leña que está encima del fuego del altar.
9 Then one of the priests will completely burn all of it on the altar. And the aroma will be pleasing to Yahweh.
Después de lavar en agua sus órganos internos y sus patas, el sacerdote dejará consumir todo sobre el altar. Es un holocausto, un sacrificio quemado de olor que apacigua a Yavé.
10 ‘If you are offering a sheep or a goat, it must be a male without any defect.
Si su ofrenda es del rebaño, de las ovejas o de las cabras para holocausto, ofrecerá un macho sin defecto.
11 You must slaughter it in front of Yahweh, on the north side of the altar, [and drain all the blood into a bowl]. Then Aaron’s sons will sprinkle the blood against all sides of the altar.
Lo degollará delante de Yavé sobre el lado norte del altar, y los sacerdotes hijos de Aarón rociarán la sangre de aquél sobre el altar, por todos los lados.
12 You must cut the animal into pieces. You must wash the inner parts and the legs of the animal. Then the priests will arrange the pieces, including the head and the fat, on the burning wood.
Después lo cortarán en trozos, los cuales, con su cabeza y su grasa, el sacerdote pondrá encima de la leña que está sobre el fuego encima del altar.
13 Then one of the priests will take all of it and completely burn all of it on the altar. And the aroma as it burns will be pleasing to Yahweh.
Los órganos internos y las patas se lavarán en agua. El sacerdote ofrecerá todo y lo dejará consumir sobre el altar. Es un holocausto, sacrificio quemado de olor que apacigua a Yavé.
14 ‘If what you are offering to Yahweh is a bird, you must offer a dove or a young pigeon.
Si su ofrenda para Yavé es un holocausto de aves, presentará tórtolas o palominos como ofrenda.
15 The priest will take it to the altar and wring/twist off its head. Then he will burn the head on the altar. He will drain out the bird’s blood onto the side of the altar.
El sacerdote la acercará al altar, y de una uñada le cortará la cabeza, la cual dejará consumir sobre el altar. Después exprimirá su sangre sobre la pared del altar,
16 Then he will remove the bird’s (craw/food-grinding pouch) and what is inside it, and throw it on the east side of the altar, where the ashes are thrown.
le quitará el buche y las plumas, y los echará en el lugar de las cenizas por el lado oriental del altar.
17 Then he will grasp the bird’s wings and partially tear the bird open. Then he will burn it completely in the fire on the altar. And the aroma will be pleasing to Yahweh.’
La partirá por sus alas, pero no la dividirá en dos. El sacerdote dejará que se consuma sobre el altar encima de la leña, sobre el fuego. Es un holocausto, sacrificio quemado de olor que apacigua a Yavé.
