< Leviticus 3 >
1 [“Also tell the people], ‘When the offering that you bring to Yahweh is to maintain good fellowship [with him], you may bring a bull or a cow from your herd [of cattle], but what you present to Yahweh must be an animal that has no defects.
Pea kapau ko ʻene feilaulau ko e feilaulau fakalelei, pea kapau ʻoku ʻatu ia mei he fanga manu lalahi; kapau ko ha tangata pe ha fefine, ʻe ʻatu ia, ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova taʻehanomele.
2 You must bring the animal to the entrance to the Sacred Tent. You must lay your hands on its head. Then you must slaughter it [and drain some of its blood in a bowl]. Then one of Aaron’s sons, one of the priests, will sprinkle the blood against all sides of the altar.
Pea ʻe hilifaki ʻe ia hono nima ki he ʻulu ʻo ʻene feilaulau, pea ʻe tāmateʻi ia ʻi he matapā ʻoe fale fehikitaki ʻoe kakai; pea ko e ngaahi foha ʻo ʻElone ko e kau taulaʻeiki tenau luluku fakatakamilo ʻae feilaulauʻanga ʻaki ʻae toto.
3 From that offering, you must offer to Yahweh, as a sacrifice that will be burned in the fire, all the fat that covers the inner parts of the animal, or which is attached to them—

5 Then one of the priests will burn those things on the altar, along with the other parts of the animal that will be completely burned to be an offering [to Yahweh]. And the aroma while it burns will be pleasing to Yahweh.
Pea ʻe tutu ia ʻe he ngaahi foha ʻo ʻElone, ʻi he funga feilaulauʻanga mo e feilaulau tutu, ʻaia kuo hili ki he fefie ʻoku ʻi he afi; ko e feilaulau [ia ]kuo ngaohi ʻaki ʻae afi, ko e meʻa namu kakala kia Sihova.
6 If that offering to maintain good fellowship with Yahweh is a sheep or a goat, it must also be an animal that has no defects.
Pea kapau ko ʻene feilaulau ko e feilaulau fakalelei kia Sihova, mei he fanga manu siʻi, ko e tangata pe ko e fefine, ʻe ʻatu ia taʻehanomele.
7 If you offer a lamb, you must present it to Yahweh [at the entrance to the Sacred Tent]. You must lay your hands on the lamb’s head and then slaughter it. [‘You must drain some of its blood in a bowl].
Kapau ʻoku ne ʻatu ha lami ko ʻene feilaulau, pehē te ne ʻatu ia ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova.
8 Then one of the priests will sprinkle that blood against all sides of the altar.
Pea ʻe hili ʻe ia hono nima ki he ʻulu ʻo ʻene feilaulau, pea ʻe tāmateʻi ia ʻi he mata fale fehikitaki ʻoe kakai, pea ʻe luluku takatakai ʻaki hono toto ʻae funga feilaulauʻanga ʻe he ngaahi foha ʻo ʻElone.
9 You must dedicate these things to be a sacrifice to Yahweh that is burned: Its fat, the fat tail that you must cut off close to the backbone, and all the fat that covers the inner parts of the lamb or which is attached to them—
Pea ʻe ʻatu ʻe ia ʻi he feilaulau ʻoe fakalelei ʻae feilaulau kuo ngaohi ʻaki ʻae afi kia Sihova: ko hono ngako ʻo ia, mo hono iku kotoa ʻe toʻo ʻo motuhi mei he tuʻungaiku: mo e punukete, mo e ngako kotoa pē ʻoku ʻi loto,

Mo e kofuua ʻe ua, mo e ngako ʻoku ʻi ai, ʻaia ʻoku ʻi he ngutukete, mo e ʻahu ʻi ʻolunga ʻi he ʻate, mo e kofuua, ʻe toʻo ia ʻo ʻave.
11 One of the priests will burn those things on the altar to be an offering to Yahweh; [it will be as though] they will be a special food [given to Yahweh].
Pea ʻe tutu ia ʻe he taulaʻeiki ʻi he funga feilaulauʻanga: ko e meʻakai ia ʻoe feilaulau kuo ngaohi ʻaki ʻae afi kia Sihova.
12 ‘If your offering is a goat, you must take/present it to Yahweh.
Pea kapau ko e kosi ʻa ʻene feilaulau, pea ʻe ʻatu ia ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova.
13 You must lay your hands on its head. Then you must slaughter it in front of the Sacred Tent. Then one of Aaron’s sons will sprinkle the blood against all sides of the altar.
Pea ʻe hili ʻe ia hono nima ki hono ʻulu, ʻo tāmateʻi ia ʻi he mata fale fehikitaki ʻoe kakai: pea ʻe luluku takatakai ʻaki hono toto ʻo ia ʻe he ngaahi foha ʻo ʻElone ʻae funga feilaulauʻanga.
14 From that offering you must dedicate these things to be a sacrifice to Yahweh that is burned: All the fat that covers the inner parts of the animal or which is attached to them,
Pea ʻe ʻatu ʻe ia mei ai ʻa ʻene feilaulau, ko e feilaulau kuo ngaohi ʻaki ʻae afi kia Sihova; ko e punukete, mo e ngako kotoa pē ʻoku ʻi loto,
15 the kidneys with the fat that is on them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.
Mo e kofuua ʻe ua, mo e ngako ʻoku ʻi ai, ʻaia ʻoku ʻi he ngutukete, mo e ʻahu ʻi ʻolunga ʻi he ʻate, mo e kofuua, ʻe toʻo ia ʻo ʻave.
16 The priest will burn those things on the altar to be an offering to Yahweh; [it will be as though] they will be a special food [given to Yahweh]. And the aroma while it burns will be pleasing to Yahweh. All the fat [of the animals that are sacrificed] belongs to Yahweh.
Pea ʻe tutu ia ʻe he taulaʻeiki ki he funga ʻoe feilaulauʻanga: ko e meʻakai ia ʻoe feilaulau kuo ngaohi ʻaki ʻae afi, ko e meʻa namu kakala: ʻoku ʻa Sihova ʻae ngako kotoa pē.
17 ‘This is a command that must be obeyed by you and your descendants forever, wherever you live: You must not eat the fat or the blood [of any animal].’”
Ko e tuʻutuʻuni taʻengata ia ki homou ngaahi toʻutangata ʻi homou ngaahi nofoʻanga, koeʻuhi ke ʻoua naʻa mou kai ngako pe ko e toto.
